I wonder why we as cam models are struggeling so hard at this moment im working on camcontacts,Aw.live and i do skype shows but when it comes to these 2 first sites o'ghos traffic i dead as hell, there are many days im sitting and waiting for members to join my room but nobody comes you can sit there for 2 hours or longer and nothing is very dead on camcontacts members join maybe 1 or 2 times a week and sometimes a whole week nobobdy joins that means no earnings for a whole week sometimes, and on aw.live is also the same is worst than camcontacts, the skype shows some days i also don't have traffic or i wait long before member calls me
I want to giveup on the first twoo sites because i feel like im wasting my time
I also wana go back to my other older sites i was before but if there are any other sites i can try please can you tell me which ones? I don't want to wait everyday for long hours on cam with no traffic is very very boring and stressful
I need you advise

I work for 2 years as a camgirl so I try to give you my opinion:)

It’s very hard for many of us now, everything gets expensive and many new models join the sites, competition is no joke this times and members who have tokens on their account ,are very stingy unfortunately :( I work on Stripchat, today 6400 Models online , 2 years ago it was maybe 4000 models and it was much easier to make a living out of this.

My income dropped 50% till february, but it is what it is. I understand that many guys don’t have much money right now for us, but I hope someday it will get better.

I try to work more hours and the rest of the time i enjoy my life outside of cam. Please don’t stress yourself too much, you can easily burn out and then it’s very hard to „come back“.

It is really hard just now, it's not only you. The first year of covid was pretty profitable (for me) but since that time I have also noticed that the competition is more fierce than ever. Now with inflation, I think viewers are cutting back a little (as was said in another thread). Even before all this, people said something like 80% of models quit their first year (sorry if the number is wrong, bad memory) but basically it's a super tough field psychologically. Even tougher the last few years.

ETA; My first 3 years I did part time gigs on the side to supplement my cam income, and just reduce stress. It helped, in my case. I also branched out into clip sales quite heavily too.

Yeah, there are a ton of girls on these sites now. Probably 4X from when I started looking over not all that many years. Competition is tough just in terms of numbers alone. Harder and harder for most coming later to the party to break through that. And like I said in the other thread things aren't as good for users now as far as money goes. Years ago things were booming. Not so much now for most people. I consider myself fairly lucky to be dong as well as I am but for my vanilla business my costs have roughly doubled over the last year and I can't pass all of that along. So the money isn't flowing as easy.

Hey carmen thanks for your advise its good to see that im not the only one with this problem but yeah lets hope we will get better days again
Lets not giveup right now

Hey Elimarie717 sure i feel you we are in this together let us keep fighting and keep trying to see how far we can make it
Is sad that we need to experience this

I have never heard of these. Recently I heard a small amount of good stuff about LCSM, and Live Unicorns though, but I have not personally tried either.
I tried cammodeldirectory2.0, and that one was a hard no for me, due to rumors I heard about them issuing models fines etc. Like MFC they did have very fast and attentive model support though.

Right now I only work MFC, SM, C4S (clips4sale), MV (manyvids), OF (onlyfans) and once in a while I upload to IWC (iwantclips.com).
Some people do well on Reddit and stuff too, but I don't know anything about that. My main earning site right now is SM.
I also know some models do really well using shine browser to splitcam on multiple token sites, as long as they aren't broadcasting one on ones etc, which I've noticed seriously pisses a lot of viewers off, and is also against the rules on Stripchat. But other models were just saying in another thread this morning that split camming token sites, is another good way to handle slow times, and branch out (on chaturbate, mfc, stripchat etc)

Definitely more competitive and a challenging economy.

Our income had dropped 80% during the pandemic and forced us into multi-streaming on 8 platforms and diversifying.

When you combine all platforms on what we earn now, there is only a 20% drop, but we have to work a lot harder, longer and focus on generating new income streams.

I agree with everyone else that more new members joining will always make it more challenging but there's always going to be someone new. I like to think that there's something for everyone (from the customer standpoint) and if you bring that appeal and are a regular performer you can stand out, and that's when having your regulars and building relationships with them helps because even if they are visiting other performers, they don't forget about you. Some may not be spenders at first but you'll be surprised if you give them a chance they can come around.

I think you really have to put in the effort, have personality, show interest and be engaging and attentive to stand out and do well. Some tend to think this is an "easy money" job but it's still a job that requires work and skill.

Also, remind yourself that on slow days, it doesn't necessarily reflect you or mean you're not good enough, etc. There are always going to be those slow periods.
I have noticed it's definitely been more challenging these days due to inflation and this shit economy most likely so the slower periods can be even slower and/or last longer and take a lot longer to make what you typically would earn at times but you have to try or if you're able to, use that as time off.

It's definitely possible to be successful in this industry but it's a lot harder if you're just sitting there not engaging or looking bored especially with all of the mentioned factors at play these days - you're a performer so customers want to feel special and entertained most of all.

What does LCSM means is it a clip or camsite?

We’ve been going for 3 years strong!

Started on exclusively Streamate and now..

Streamate, Flirt4Free, Chaturbate, StripChat, CAM4, BongaCams, CamSoda ImLive, ePlay(New) & SugarBounce (New)

OnlyFans & 4MyFans

We’re looking into eventually going into clip sales, but it’s more time required 😂

For males, Streamate is lucrative.
StripChat and BongaCams are low traffic sites for males.

Females can make a good living on StripChat, but far less on BongaCams.

Never tried LiveJasmin as it isn’t an ideal platform for multistreaming and they no longer accept couple models.

Oke james and aiden thanks for the tip

I think you should change to bigger websites.

Even though competition is growing and earning potential is lowering and the current world powers are declining (future doesn't prospect well), you would still get someone there.

Look this from an user POV: they surf through 10 websites, of which 5 are popular with lots of girls, 5 are new with less girls. They will take a look at new ones and slowly trust a few but will be less prompt in spending money there, so they will stick on the known and more reliable websites.

There are other factors such economics (of course), covid, competition, internet etc. You should also multistream so you hit more members at the same time :).

Hope this helps you somewhat!

I had heard of streamate before i joined CB 2+ yrs ago. I'm curious what makes it better for males? Thanks for any info. I do decent on Chaturbate, luckily I've built my OF up enough to where its my main focus.

Women def have it tougher on cam with all the added competition. Looks like a recession is inevitable. I think the key is to just keep grinding it out

Thank you for responding. You're not alone. Sad but true. Give wherever you broadcast at least a minimum of 3 hours. If you're not receiving traffic, check yourself on your cellphone. You might as I have had on SM, an echoing issue on your audio, you didn't realize, until u check yourself and then u say "oh, now I see the problem," if that makes sense. It took me a good 4 months to be successful, despite having done porn vids for the last decade, but being female, I hope u are successful sooner, since women are more successful than men in the webcam industry, personal opinion.

Multi-stream and learn how to multi-stream if one website isn't working for u, and/or combine Skype shows with cam sites, whatever works for you and makes you your money, do what is best for you. Like the saying goes: "The bills don't pay themselves." With that being said, don't be on a cam site and "shout your Skype info." to the rooftops. The cam sites will fire you, and you most likely lost a connection with the cam sites/money and/or Skype shows.

If for some strange reason the cam sites don't work for you, don't diss the cam sites, just find a job you can work online/offline where you're not interacting regularly with the public, because somebody in public will say "oh yeah, I remember u and I enjoyed/jerked off to you on cam," and they report u to your supervisor and then you're out of a job. A lot of guys, unfortunately, suffer from a Madonna/Whore Complex, and they lack the maturity to understand you, and everybody else inside/outside the webcam world is a human being.

Last but not least, keep in mind inflation is the highest it's been in 40+ years. Republicans AND Democrats are responsible for this BS. People need to survive and since we webcam models are unfortunately considered to some as, to put it politely, "online entertainment and just a fantasy," we get pushed to the back end, which is just sad.

Even though I've never met you in person and most likely never will, I hope you are successful in life, whether in the webcam world and/or in some other business venture.

In conclusion, I hope my response wasn't too long, and if this put you to sleep being too long, I'm glad I gave you a good rest/nap.

Have a good day/night whenever you read/see this message.

For us, Streamate is a private only website with good traffic, and we get $5.99-$7.99 per minute.

The above just isn’t possible to make on Chaturbate unless you have 2-3 large tippers in your room.

When Streamate is slow, one of the other platforms usually fills the void.

Again, not every model is going to be successful in every platform.

True. And thank you guys for your response/s. Models have to be successful wherever/whenever they can be successful, with inflation being the highest in 40+ years. Use at least, I repeat, 3 cam sites, and last but certainly not least, Skype, but don't shout your Skype name, on the cam sites, to avoid getting fired/lose a connection cam/Skype related. If for some strange reason a cam model is unsuccessful, find a job where you're not in the public eye. Examples: Cashier, school teacher, politician.

Sorry to read/see your situation. Make your money and survive. As long as you don't hurt yourself and/or anybody else, make your money wherever u can, online/offline.

Exactly. Nobody has a right to judge you for anything unless they pay ur bills. I was doing grocery delivery as a side gig but now with gas being so high it doesnt even pay to leave the house lol.

And yeah its a tougher field for women. More models but also like u said a lot of them will quit.

Looking into it, thank you for the info. Yeah seems like using multi platforms is def the way to go. I've mainly been focused on Cb and OF

It comes down to, unfortunately, supply and demand. Back in the day, only a handful of people did webcam modeling. Now, a whole lot of people do it, so the money is there, but the money goes down for a lot of models, sad to say this, sigh, due to the plethora of people working in the webcam industry.

It's sad because a lot of male/female/transgender models quit webcam modeling, expecting rapid results, but are disappointed when they don't get them. If they get rapid results, great, good for them. If not, be patient, and build a following. If the industry doesn't work for someone, I tell people not to disrespect the webcam modeling industry. I tell people to just pursue other interests where you can benefit yourself/pay the bills.

Online modeling has helped me and a lot of other people make money and meet some of the coolest AF people that I never would've met otherwise. Just make money, have fun, and last, but certainly not least, be safe, and respect the cam sites rules/regulations, to avoid any legal liability issues now and/or moving forward.

Glad to read/see you have been successful despite all of the crazy stuff going on in the world today. I hope you continue to be successful, on and/or off the webcam. Not getting too attached, because I've never met u in person, but hope from what I read in your thread, you're successful in life, now and moving forward, if that makes sense.
