Hi, my question mostly goes to the camgirls here :)

I know a lot of girls make MFC their full time gig, but how about those that hold onto other jobs or have a different career they plan on pursuing once their camming days are over?

I'm curious because I am considering becoming a cam girl, but I don't know what my rights are, depending on the circumstances. I kind of fear that if my current employer finds out, can I get fired? Will this make my future with getting non-adult related jobs difficult?

Any experiences or advice is welcome in this thread! I hear a lot of stories about teachers getting fired for their past in porn etc, so I believe a lot of this is on circumstances, but I also find it a bit worrying since what a girl does outside of work should not be a factor in the penalties she could face.

:)

for me camming is a second thing to do... i study and in my spare time i cam to finance my study and to get some luxery back...

i'm planning to become a sexurity guard... which i'm studying for...

i live in holland so maybe its not comparable.. but i cant imagine fireing someone for havign a cam job is legal... i'm sure it isnt here...
on almost all site you can block your state... so there shouldnt be a reason for co-workers or bosses to find out youre doing it...

just do what you feel is best...

go for it :)

Sexurity guard sounds like a job camming might actually help with.

As for blocking by location, recordings on tube sites make regional blocks useless. If you are on cam, you have to assume that it is possible for anyone anywhere to find out about it.

It depends on the job you're currently working or pursuing after school. If you're working with kids or any public image related job it could seriously hurt you. There may not be any legal reasons in your area for firing you solely for camming but if your employers find out and believe it reflects badly on their professional image in any way, they will undoubtedly find a way to terminate your employment.

The way I've always viewed camming/nude modeling is to think of that one person that you've never want to find out. Parents, Grandparents, Friends, Work, Ect. Now imagining them finding out. Can you live with that, would it hurt your relationship ect? If any part of you thinks yes, then chances are you shouldn't be doing this. You can keep it a secret for so long, once one person who find outs that knows you, youre friends, ect ... it *WILL* get out, trust me, I've been there :p

As for it affecting your lifestyle/job. That's a big yes, if you're in the public eye (politics/community) it will affect you negatively. A lot of people today still think that nudity = porn which isn't the case. Take Maxim for example. I know a ton of people who think THAT is porn. Also, look at Miss Teen USA or whoever she was ( I know its not a similar case ) who was scrutinized because of a sex video that SHE didn't even put out there, some loser guy did and she now has to suffer the consequences.

Just some things to think about. However what I can say, if that if you can get past your worried feelings camming is a rewarding lifestyle for you :)

This!

I kept my camming under wraps for about a year, people from high school stumbled across a video of me online, so now everyone knows. It doesnt bother me,because I legit love what I do. I am now called a whore, slut, and a pornstar now, but it doesnt bother me, they can all kiss my ass. :)

i would love to kiss your ass Cassidy ;) but thats prolly not what you meant :D

it has been mentioned before, what you do on the internet stays on the internet forever. if you have kids they will see it someday.

as for being fired.. i think i have seen one or two girls that say they are going to be school teachers after this.. uhm no they are not.. they will not be able to find a job teaching in an american school after all the "teacher scandals"

i am still afraid that people will find out... and they didnt... yet
my parents dont know... familly doesnt know... a fellow student of mine knows and a couple of friends...
its actually a really common job to have as a student down here.. but somehow i dont want people to know i shake my big butt...
but i guess if they will... i will think the same as cassidy...

it isnt as bad as you think. the people that gave me problems with it just arent in my life anymore :) no one likes judgmental people. better just to snip them out now.

Camquest,

In studying to be a teacher, I was told that any behavior which is found morally irresponsible is not acceptable, in or out of the school. They said that if we were going to do anything sexual that did not involve a spouse, it should be done out of state (hookers for guys, or toys for girls).

It's basically the same for if you're going for politics- lots of people won't vote for a person if there's some sort of scandal in their past.

If you're NOT going to go for politics or working with children, then there is no reason to worry that you might be fired from your job, unless you are actively camming from your job, or advertising your wares.

I actually had a friend who I was really into and who was really into me tell me that we couldn't be together because I'm the type of girl that could ruin his (future)political career. He kept my naked photos on his computer until his girlfriend (now his wife) called him out for it.

As for myself, I spent a lot of time watching my actions because I wanted to be a high school teacher. After I thought about it, I realized that I couldn't watch every little thing I did- so I started doing everything I ever wanted to. My future plans are to own a restaurant or bar.

From a BUSINESS perspective and running an affiliate...

I can tell you that girls that quit the camming industry even up to 4 years ago, STILL appear on promotional banners, FLVs and FHGs that are tools available to any webmaster from the cam companies.

You hear on the news that even posting things on FACEBOOK can cause riffs in careers and lives.

Models need to be aware of the contracts they sign and know that a cam company CAN (and more than likely USE) their images to help promote traffic to their website and most models NEVER have access to see what promo tools companies, as mine, have at our discretion.

Rule of thumb, anything you put out there on the internet, can be seen. Just because you think your cam company won't use you to promote themselves, you do not know of the THOUSANDS of affiliate webmasters that have access and promote on THEIR website to bring traffic to your cam company.

I can answer any questions... Just PM me.

Actually. If I do go to school after this (I'd much rather continue camming until retirement, but we'll see how that goes...) then I'm going to be a teacher.

I really don't think camming will hurt me job-wise in the future.

And I think I'm very much aware of how the internet works and yeah, our stuff will be there forever, but eh... I don't think what I do is wrong. So I guess we'll see what I feel like doing in 10-20 years.

Then again there's always my dream of owning a Coldstone store or two and living off of that.

And no, not living off of only eating the icecream <_<

Hiding your personal life from your friends and family is hard, I'm still waiting for the day I have to come out and tell everyone I'm gay. Thats gonna suck... As far as a business perspective goes, unless you are in a public position or you work with children it shouldn't matter.
