Good New Yorker article (book review) on the state of pornography in the US. It doesn't talk about the web cam industry. It's mainly about the decline of the old school porn movie studio system in LA and what's replaced them. It also looks at the feminist political critique of porn, and briefly, the effects of porn on the actors and the consumers. Some quotes:
  • Applications for porn-shoot permits in Los Angeles County reportedly fell by ninety-five per cent between 2012 and 2015.
  • According to a recent CNBC report, seventy per cent of American online-porn access occurs during the nine-to-five workday.
  • The majority of the world’s tube sites are effectively a monopoly—owned by a company called MindGeek, whose bandwidth use exceeds that of Amazon or Facebook

Now I want a Philly cheesesteak!

They're delicious!!! However the next time I'm in Philly, I'd like to have dinner at The Victor Cafe...the place known as "Adrian's" in the films 'Rocky Balboa' and 'Creed'. :) Besides its Rocky fame, they're known for having their wait staff (which consists of opera singers) come out and sing opera while you eat.

Looks like it shaping up to be an exciting race for MissMFC this month.

Had a simple yet enlightening realization this night, a pifame if u will. Thought i might go sit in the pool, drink a little wine, swallow a morphine sulfate or two, maybe even shove one up my ass. You know enough to get a decent buzz and body rush. Don't much like a pain killer/downer high, but WTF it's something to do, and in the water it can be sort of a cool floty feeling. Then it hit me, it would be really cool if you were to be so off base about your high threshold that you passed yourself out and quietly slipped under the water. That is, if you had been spending a lot of time contemplating an early check out, but never at any serious level, because you could never get past just thinking about the ramp up to the point of no return, much less actually step from thought toward action. But if all that horror of the premeditation were removed and there were just the positive results and oblivion unknowingly gifted to you, how sweet the dark...

But of course once an accident becomes tainted with the tiniest bit of intent, it is no longer an accident, and you're back at square one. And, there is simply no wild cards as with heroin where one might get something much stronger than expected. So it was a nice thought, but really not a realistic one for a person that has been some sort of drug addict off and on for 40 years - too much experience to be that far off. I'm not far from the airport, there is always the random freak plane through the roof to cast a bit of hope. Smile, I am happy enough.

As I was placing a sticker over my junk on a picture of me naked wearing a clothes hamper as a hat for Snapchat, I could not help but be proud of how I use the supercomputer that fits in my pocket. Truly we live in the future.

Today I got a lesson in how bra sizes work from a very helpful lady at Victoria Secret - the reason bras have multiple clasps is because you are suppose to start on the outside one and work your way in as the bra gets older/looser. :bookworm:

I also found out I've been wearing the wrong bra size for two years, wondering why I constantly had to adjust my titties, and despising bras for being so uncomfortable. Turns out there's way more to finding the right bra size then a doing a little math.

lol, I usually use the inside clasp on a 'small looking' bra for hooterboobs, and 'bras that kinda look the same size as sportsbras' for comfort lol

Just browsing two rooms. Both were playing the same song, and they were synced perfectly. (Lou Reed - Walk On The Wild Side)

After that was different songs, so it wasn't just the same pandora or local station.

Just an interesting coincidence that has me pondering the odds of that happening for a model I know lives in California and another I know is in Europe.

After close to 20 years my little earphones finally fell apart, hopelessly beyond my repair capabilities. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and a suitable mourning period, I decided to go on with my life and buy new ones.

I journey to Walmart and the first thing i see in the headphone aisle is some rapper with $150 items. I laughingly continue on to $90 headphones. Again, that's a big nope and negatory good buddy. Finally at the other end of the aisle I see some that are back in the realm of intelligence; $20 packages seductively gleaming at me.

Scanning furtively I then see the blessed $10 range and think I might have a chance of getting some tonight. Let the 'get some for $10' jokes flow forth.

I start comparing them: $9 ones, $7, $5... then lo and behold the mother lode. Like manna descended from Heaven above I spy way down in the farthest peg hook corner, a miracle. A ONE FREAKING DOLLAR stereo earphone!

My first reaction, being sane (arguably), is surely the sound quality must be worse than Roseanne Barr singing in a New York sewer system during the Super Bowl half time show. But the price tag kept playing it's siren song. "Buy me, I'm only a dollar. How bad could I be?" I couldn't resist and threw myself into the sea.

I get home with my prize and plug them into a little radio player only to discover they sound better than my old ones.

Behold, the dollar miracle.

Shit man....

My parent's home is filled with so much junk they don't even use: furniture, old electronics, a spare bed mattress, bicycles, etc. Whenever i suggest to get rid of certain items that haven't been used in centuries, my dad says, "No i'm keeping it. We'll find a use for it one day." I'm confident they'll NEVER find a use for them. That leads into a mini argument.

Maybe i shouldn't care, but it's frustrating :envy:

I had to get fingerprinted just now for a new job, and I love the way they do fingerprinting now versus the old messy inkpad method. Technology is a beautiful thang. And the officer who did my prints was SUPER nice and very talkative, which I just love in a person! He said he had to do fingerprints once for a woman who had freaky long fingernails, and that was quite the challenge. Lol.

This Windows 10 update really fucked things up for us Logitech C920 users trying to access our Logitech webcam software. I can still broadcast, but now I can't record video or take photos AT ALL because of it.

Try Manycam?

Thanks. I had to just record the video from my smartphone. One of the jobs I applied for needed a 1-min. video of me reading a children's story.

I just found out that a school teacher out here (who was one of my son's teachers some years ago) was murdered. Shot in the head by her own husband, and he also shot their son.

I am almost always too late to threads to ever say anything new and original it seems. Curse my long work hours. But daily thoughts will always be here for my ramblings.

Just pretend you didn't see someone posted the same thing four hours before and post it anyway. Consider it a game, see if your comment gets more likes than the person who originally posted it. It's done quite regularly already.

Maybe I should just post stuff already there. Maybe my posts could even get more likes that the original. I might have to tweak it a little for plausible deniability, I can be like, oh I never saw that other post if called out.

I was torn between the facepalm and the like rating for the comedic nature of your post. The quarter came up tails.

I just saw a smear ad against both a presidential candidate and a local representative at the same time. I think I've ever seen that before

Old guy neighbor in the apartments got a virus on his computer. He stupidly called up the 800 number on his screen to get rid of viruses (part of the virus itself). They wanted $400 for their 'lifetime monitoring services' to get rid of all those files. He was pissed as he was talking about it. Told him to give me $50 and I'd clean it all up to free space., install software to clean it and show him how to use it. Make sure anti-virus is running and firewall. Also set up chrome with ad blockers, clean up his bookmarks, set up his cloud service, and show him how to use it. And a few other software titles. Basically get it running as good as new again, and a bit better.

He okay'd it. As soon as I go to clean up junk files to clear up space I notice the download folder is full of porn. Seems he has a thing for older ladies in satin panties. Also transgender porn.
