Discussion of Drugs prohibited on Chaturbate?

Had an unusual occurrence where CB support suspended my session, and have placed this in my browser:



I have not clicked the "I understand" box, as I do not understand.

I cannot find anything within the Terms and Conditions (T&C's) that would seem to support "The discussion of drugs is not allowed".

Drugs such as caffeine, alcohol and nicotine are so entwined in the fabric of society that I think its farcical that CB may ban someone for mentioning them. For example, is Chaturbate saying that any discussion of tea, coffee, red bull, chocolate, beer, wine, spirits, cigarettes or vapes etc. etc. will result in a ban? I think that cannot be what they are trying to convey (but the words used would mean that is so).

I have sent two emails to support@chaturbate trying to get them to clarify what they meant by this text box. I hoped that CB support would come back with something along the lines that the discussion of illicit or illegal drugs (such as marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine etc) is prohibited. Or, even better, the specific Term in the T&C's that they are referencing.

Of course, I have only received the following dismissive responses: " ...Following an additional review, the violation reported on the account on <date>, 2026, was reconfirmed, and the actions taken were not in error." to both emails.

Has anyone else had this 'carte blanche' prohibition of any discussion of any drugs sprung upon them ? ...and would anyone know a 'trick' by which a member can get Support@Chaturbate to come back with an meaningful, or clarifying, response to an email? ..if there is some way to have an actual clarifying conversation with CB support, it would be most helpful.

Depends if you want to be able to use the site again, or argue over a point you'll never win.

Yes.. I did include the text of that term (clause xix. to Appendix C) in my email to support@chaturbate and queried if that was the term that they were relying on in their assertion - "The discussion of drugs is not allowed". However, in my view, it could not be, as the text box fails to include the aspect of "controlled substances".

Even clause xix to Appendix C of the T&C's does not prohibit the discussing of controlled substances. What it goes to is not allowing soliciting (solicit means: seek to obtain by persuasion) or the selling of, controlled substances (inter alia).

To me, clause xix." You will not use the Platform to solicit other Community Members or Broadcasters to engage in any other type of illegal conduct, or to sell or purchase firearms, other weapons, or controlled substances." means you cannot use the platform to buy or sell controlled substances (etc), in this context. Nothing more. I fail to see how it prevents or disallows any discussion.

Clearly, the words in the text box "The discussion of drugs is not allowed" is a vast oversimplification of that term, to the point where the sentence used has a totally different meaning to clause xix. (if indeed it is clause xix. the one that Chaturbate are relying upon when stopping my session - they simply wont tell me what they are relying on).

I cannot see how requiring a member to agree to that oversimplification helps. Simply put, the words I am being asked to agree to are not in the T&Cs.

I would be more than happy to click a 'I agree' check box that states the full term, as per the T&C's.

In my view, asking a member to agree that the discussion of drugs (unqualified) is prohibited, leads to the stupid outcome that "The discussion of coffee is not allowed" (substitute any other drug instead of coffee in that sentence you like, to see the foolishness of it all).

I thank you for the feedback Rockin_Rod, but I beg to disagree. What they have asked is for me to agree to something that is plainly not in the terms and conditions.

I do agree with your 'or argue over a point you'll never win' statement however, especially in light of the current manner in which support@chaturbate seems to treat their customers.

Rules for Community Member Content
The Platform maintains basic rules with respect to Community Member Content. All Community Members are required to adhere to these rules. The following acts/content are strictly prohibited, and no Community Member may post or broadcast these on the Platform or solicit any other Community Member to post or broadcast the same.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for engaging in any inappropriate activity.

I specifically did ask support@chaturbate, pointedly two times, in each of my emails if they were relying on the last sentence to Appendix C in making their assertion that "The discussion of drugs is not allowed" .. They have not said they are. If support@chaturbate says they are relying on that sentence, I will click the "I agree" button immediately ..

If they do say that "The discussion of drugs is not allowed" is because of that last sentence, then that would be a clear precedent for potential future actions.

How tf is this so difficult? Just agree and clean your chat up. I don't know how anyone can have a hard time understanding why a site like chaturbate wouldn't want that.

That was so considerate of you to give a warning of what was to come I should try to remember to do that more often too.

ETA; I get the point you are making, OP. But it's one of those tiny things that people would call you a hair splitter over. And as someone else posted, they do have language in the ToS that covers everything. Which is not surprising, given most of these sites have legal teams on retainer, or possibly even employed full time, who knows But they certainly all consult w and work with lawyers in the field of copyright & entertainment law, frequently.
