Had an unusual occurrence where CB support suspended my session, and have placed this in my browser:

Screenshot_20260804_113709.jpeg

I have not clicked the "I understand" box, as I do not understand.

I cannot find anything within the Terms and Conditions (T&C's) that would seem to support "The discussion of drugs is not allowed".

Drugs such as caffeine, alcohol and nicotine are so entwined in the fabric of society that I think its farcical that CB may ban someone for mentioning them. For example, is Chaturbate saying that any discussion of tea, coffee, red bull, chocolate, beer, wine, spirits, cigarettes or vapes etc. etc. will result in a ban? I think that cannot be what they are trying to convey (but the words used would mean that is so).

I have sent two emails to support@chaturbate trying to get them to clarify what they meant by this text box. I hoped that CB support would come back with something along the lines that the discussion of illicit or illegal drugs (such as marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine etc) is prohibited. Or, even better, the specific Term in the T&C's that they are referencing.

Of course, I have only received the following dismissive responses: " ...Following an additional review, the violation reported on the account on <date>, 2026, was reconfirmed, and the actions taken were not in error." to both emails.

Has anyone else had this 'carte blanche' prohibition of any discussion of any drugs sprung upon them ? ...and would anyone know a 'trick' by which a member can get Support@Chaturbate to come back with an meaningful, or clarifying, response to an email? ..if there is some way to have an actual clarifying conversation with CB support, it would be most helpful.

cheers, and thanks in advance for any responses.

I thank you for the feedback Droopla.

Yes.. I did include the text of that term (clause xix. to Appendix C) in my email to support@chaturbate and queried if that was the term that they were relying on in their assertion - "The discussion of drugs is not allowed". However, in my view, it could not be, as the text box fails to include the aspect of "controlled substances".

Even clause xix to Appendix C of the T&C's does not prohibit the discussing of controlled substances. What it goes to is not allowing soliciting (solicit means: seek to obtain by persuasion) or the selling of, controlled substances (inter alia).

To me, clause xix." You will not use the Platform to solicit other Community Members or Broadcasters to engage in any other type of illegal conduct, or to sell or purchase firearms, other weapons, or controlled substances." means you cannot use the platform to buy or sell controlled substances (etc), in this context. Nothing more. I fail to see how it prevents or disallows any discussion.

Clearly, the words in the text box "The discussion of drugs is not allowed" is a vast oversimplification of that term, to the point where the sentence used has a totally different meaning to clause xix. (if indeed it is clause xix. the one that Chaturbate are relying upon when stopping my session - they simply wont tell me what they are relying on).

I cannot see how requiring a member to agree to that oversimplification helps. Simply put, the words I am being asked to agree to are not in the T&Cs.

I would be more than happy to click a 'I agree' check box that states the full term, as per the T&C's.

In my view, asking a member to agree that the discussion of drugs (unqualified) is prohibited, leads to the stupid outcome that "The discussion of coffee is not allowed" (substitute any other drug instead of coffee in that sentence you like, to see the foolishness of it all).

cheers,

Ball's in your court, they explained what you need to do to comply with ToS.
Depends if you want to be able to use the site again, or argue over a point you'll never win.

I thank you for the feedback Rockin_Rod, but I beg to disagree. What they have asked is for me to agree to something that is plainly not in the terms and conditions.

I do agree with your 'or argue over a point you'll never win' statement however, especially in light of the current manner in which support@chaturbate seems to treat their customers.

Rules for Community Member Content
The Platform maintains basic rules with respect to Community Member Content. All Community Members are required to adhere to these rules. The following acts/content are strictly prohibited, and no Community Member may post or broadcast these on the Platform or solicit any other Community Member to post or broadcast the same.

  1. Obscenity. For the purpose of this provision, obscene materials include without limitation any actual or simulated scatological, rape, incestual (and depictions of incest), CSAM (or any depiction of CSAM), bestiality, and other actions or materials which may be deemed obscene or illegal in your community.
  2. Depictions of actual or simulated illegal and unsafe actions, including, but not limited to: violence, blood, torture, cutting, extreme blood restriction, pain, asphyxiation, fisting, rape themes, or any actions associated with causing physical or emotional harm. Illegal drugs (or drugs that may be perceived as illegal in certain locations, such as medicinal marijuana) are strictly prohibited.
And what no one ever reads is the very last line in the TOS
These lists are not exclusive, and we may, at any time, prohibit any activity that we determine, in our sole and absolute discretion, to be inappropriate. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for engaging in any inappropriate activity.

thanks Dartho .. Yes.. I specifically did ask support@chaturbate, pointedly two times, in each of my emails if they were relying on the last sentence to Appendix C in making their assertion that "The discussion of drugs is not allowed" .. They have not said they are. If support@chaturbate says they are relying on that sentence, I will click the "I agree" button immediately ..

If they do say that "The discussion of drugs is not allowed" is because of that last sentence, then that would be a clear precedent for potential future actions.

cheers.

How tf is this so difficult? Just agree and clean your chat up. I don't know how anyone can have a hard time understanding why a site like chaturbate wouldn't want that.

I'm going to be blunt here
That was so considerate of you to give a warning of what was to come 😆 I should try to remember to do that more often too.

ETA; I get the point you are making, OP. But it's one of those tiny things that people would call you a hair splitter over. And as someone else posted, they do have language in the ToS that covers everything. Which is not surprising, given most of these sites have legal teams on retainer, or possibly even employed full time, who knows 🤷‍♀️ But they certainly all consult w and work with lawyers in the field of copyright & entertainment law, frequently.

Hello @RobRoskoff I have confirmed that the support team has responded to your inquiry. Ticket #25761005
Thanks for the feedback punker_barbie

(I find it curious that the 'support team' can provide a ticket number here, when I have not given any indication of my CB username, and when I asked in an email to support@chaturbate for a ticket number, they would not provide one).

The purpose of my discussion here was not to see a response - I have received two responses (and said so in the original posting). The issue I have is neither of those responses actually clarify or help. As someone below as pointed out, I am splitting hairs - yes - it seems to me that 'support' simply failed to say 'illicit drugs' instead of just 'drugs' in the text box. This is not a critical matter for me. However, for many of the posters on this forum the lack of helpful responses from support@chaturbate is a big issue for them - broadcasting on Chaturbate is the source of their livelihood.

In my view, if support@chaturbate provided more meaningful or helpful responses to email queries, there would be a significant reduction in the number of emails they receive. Helpful response that provide clarity on specific points would also lessen the stress on the individuals concerned (in the case of independent broadcasters).

The full text of the initial response I received was:

"
From: Chaturbate Support <support@chaturbate.com>
[redacted /name/time/subject]

We appreciate you reaching out. Your concerns matter, and we’re here to provide the support you need.

Following an additional review, the violation reported on the account on <date>, 2026, was reconfirmed, and the actions taken were not in error.

For more information about the specific violation, you may wish to review the Terms & Conditions, including the Code of Conduct. Please note that repeated violations of the Chaturbate Terms may cause further suspension or even a ban from the platform.

If you have any questions about this policy or any others, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
The Chaturbate Team

"
The second response I received was almost identical, with the 2nd sentence changed to "We know how important this is and are here to help." and the concluding sentence "We’re always just an email away if you need anything else" was added.

and that was in response to what I thought was a properly considered submission to support@chaturbate, being:
"
On <date/time>, <username> wrote:
Dear Sir/Madam,

I received the following message within my browser window displaying the chaturbate.com site:

" Account Warning

Activity on your account has been flagged as potentially violating Chaturbate’s Terms and Conditions. Please be advised that further warnings may result in account suspension.
Please Remember:

The discussion of drugs is not allowed.
..."

and there is then a 'check box' with the only available option being 'I understand'.

I however, do not understand. I cannot find anywhere within the Chaturbate Terms and Conditions that states that the 'discussion of drugs is not allowed'.

The most relevant terms I can find are all within Appendix C, being the following:

" APPENDIX C

1. User Conduct

You agree that you will comply with the following:
...
iii. You are entirely responsible and liable for all activities conducted through your Account when interacting with others on the Platform. YOU WILL NOT SHARE, DISCUSS, OR REQUEST ANY CONTENT THAT IS INFRINGING, DEFAMATORY, OBSCENE, LEWD, VIOLENT, HARASSING, DISCRIMINATORY (RACIST, SEXIST, TRANSPHOBIC, ABLEIST, ETC.), INVASIVE OF PRIVACY RIGHTS, UNLAWFUL, OR OTHERWISE OFFENSIVE.
...
xix. You will not use the Platform to solicit other Community Members or Broadcasters to engage in any other type of illegal conduct, or to sell or purchase firearms, other weapons, or controlled substances.
...
2. Rules for Community Member Content

...All community members are required to adhere to these rules. ...

ii. Depictions of actual or simulated illegal and unsafe actions, including, but not limited to: violence, blood, torture, cutting, extreme blood restriction, pain, asphyxiation, fisting, rape themes, or any actions associated with causing physical or emotional harm. Illegal drugs (or drugs that may be perceived as illegal in certain locations, such as medicinal marijuana) are strictly prohibited.
...

These lists are not exclusive, and we may, at any time, prohibit any activity that we determine, in our sole and absolute discretion, to be inappropriate. ...
".

I am not aware of any time in which I have:

1. requested content that is unlawful (Ap. C, 1. iii.)
2. attempted to sell or purchase controlled substances (Ap. C, 1. xix.)
3. created or displayed any depictions of drug use (Ap. C. 2. ii)

I therefore request that Chaturbate Support provide full and frank details of how and when it is alleged that I have breached any Chaturbate 'rules', including the text of what I may have said.

If it is such that Chaturbate is asserting that the discussion of drugs is a prohibited on the Chaturbate platform by utilising the concluding sentence to appendix C, I would like for you to clearly state as much.

I await the prompt reply of Chaturbate in respect to this matter before moving forwards.

yours faithfully,
<signature>

"

From a simple Customer Service point of view, I would have thought it easy for support@chaturbate to provide an extract of the offending statement (the text) that I made. Support@Chaturbate could have clarified that they meant to say "the discussion of illicit drugs is not allowed", and not "the discussion of drugs is not allowed" as put in the text box.

Yes. I am aware that support@chaturbate do not operate in that manner (i.e. they often are not helpful) ... I submit to them simple improvements in their Customer Service Policy could be implemented to i) improve the level of customer satisfaction and understanding, and ii) vastly decrease their workload.

I also submit that suitable amendments could be made to the T&C's to give an improved understanding to all community members in respect to Chaturbate's position in regard to the (asserted) prohibition on the discussion of drug on the platform.

thanks and cheers
(cynical me now thinking that usage of the word 'cheers' may be prohibited on CB due to obvious connection with drug (alcohol) use :))

thanks for your feedback ts_cammer98.

I have no problem with the idea of 'clean your chat up'. The issue I face is, if I agree to the 'carte blanch' provision that "the discussion of drugs is not allowed" then that has wide implications for everyone who uses Chaturbate. Twice I have asked support@chaturbate to clarify what they meant by the words used in that text box, but they have refused to give any other meaning.

I am 90% sure that the 'offending statement' I made was something like "...weed used to always make me spew...", but CB will not confirm that. I do not think that statement is offensive. If anything, I think it discourages the use of that particular illicit drug. In news reports broadcast worldwide, American Presidents have commented on their own use of 'weed'.

As support@chaturbate have confirmed (twice) that prohibition relates to the mention of any drug whatsoever, 10% of me worries that my mention of vape usage (which I have a doctors prescription for) could also be what they have taken umbrage with... I simply do not know how it is I should 'clean my chat up'.

Yes, I totally agree that I am splitting hairs here. I do so for several reasons:

i) it is generally acknowledged that support@chaturbate do not provide the best customer service. Perhaps by highlighting this (in my view) simple mistake of the omission of the word 'illicit', the service that support@chaturbate provides may be improved for all.
ii) I have a long background in examining legal texts. Many independent broadcasters do not have English as their first language. They have less experience in reading complicated texts like the T&C's. As the first thing that CB support always seems to say is 'look at the T&C's", that is most unhelpful to them. Surely it is not too much to ask of CB Support to at least give an indication of what Term may have been breached, or, the actual action/thing said, that brought about a suspension/ban.
iii) The broad 'we can ban you for anything at any time' provision (last sentence to Appendix C) can only be enacted for activity determined (by CB) to be inappropriate. If greater awareness of what is actually considered (by Chaturbate) to be inappropriate then members would be better placed to avoid such activity. I fail see see why support@chaturbate seems reluctant to give greater clarity on what actions are deemed to be inappropriate, and/or their reasoning behind such decision making.

Some years ago, I did have what I considered to be a 'minor victory' in that subsequent to a lengthy correspondence with CB support, words (specific to the topic of that discussion) in the T&C's were amended.

End of the day, I still cannot see any written provisions within the T&C's that say 'discussion of drugs is not allowed' (irrespective of the kind of drug (subject to some edge cases, which would be complicated to explain here)).

hahaha.. thanks mate. My hope here is by pointing out a seemingly innocuous happening, that improvements may be made to the benefit of everyone who uses the Chaturbate platform.
Honestly dude. Nobody here gives a fuck. You're writing endless essays about this shit on a public forum.

Everyone else knows that there are subjects that aren't cool on camsites - underage, shit and piss, alcohol and drugs, self harm and suicide. Come on dude, you're not different to anyone else. Abide by the rules.

Well. While we're splitting hairs, you can't talk about prescription drugs either...so stick that feather in your cap.

No one is going to get popped talking about coffee.

You're being pedantic because you got in trouble for saying weed. Get over it and click the box.

I diagnose perma-troll.
You know there's a part of me that wants to empathize that it's harder and harder to be an adult on the internet because SO MANY child-related things are now solely internet based. It's frustrating that I can't complain that I'm on the rag. It's frustrating that I can't say I'm a little hungover. It's frustrating that I lost a ton of fucking income from not being able to do the fetishes I'm best at because they've deemed consensual fantasy play the most horrific thing on earth.

(Yet there are millions of fan fic sites and novels published that push all matter of boundaries and Twitter isn't age verified even though there is more porn there than anywhere else on the internet -- that's tongue in cheek but you know it's not far off.)

You can be pregnant on cam and that's perfectly fine for people to jerk off to but once the baby arrives no mention of it can ever happen again. (Huh guess that's what it's like to be hard pro-life on the right.)

That said, it's REALLY NOT AT ALL DIFFICULT TO JUST FOLLOW THE GODDAMN RULES. Hmph.

thanks for your feedback Vixxen81.

yeah.. I think it was probably the word 'weed' which support@chaturbate found objectionable .. I just find it poor that they refuse to tell me that.

Interesting you say"...you can't talk about prescription drugs either.." as the relevant Terms provide:

"Terms and Conditions

I. The Chaturbate Platform is for Adults Only.
...
We strictly prohibit "coerced consent," which includes, but is not limited to:
...
Impaired Judgment: Consent provided while under the influence of alcohol or any intoxicants (legal, illegal, or prescribed). ...

Appendix C.
...
2. Rules for Community Member Content
...
x. Performing while intoxicated, whether from alcohol or drugs (prescription, legal or illegal), is strictly prohibited.

..."

So just the same as there is no prohibition in discussing drugs in the T&C's, there is also no prohibition on discussing prescription drugs.
It is performing whilst intoxicated which is prohibited.

I get the feeling that many members may obtain their perspective on what the 'rules' say based on what they have been told, and not from what is written in the Terms.

(I have also suspected that often support@chaturbate staff may get their take on the rules from somewhere other than the written T&C's)

cheers.
