The one I hate is when people suck their cheeks in and do duck pout! There's a girl who used to do it all the time, she was such a pretty girl but every photo she did it and looked awful thinking she was giving herself cheekbones! It's like, mate, your cheek bones are under your eyes, you're just making yourself look stupid and at best you just look like a crackhead!

In seriousness though, I think it stretches out the skin under the eyes, and accentuates cheekbones at the same time. Also, when combined with raised eyebrows your eyes can look very wide with a duck face.

I am sure there is scientific name for it, but I have no idea what at the moment. You could replace those ducklings with anything just as cute and it will still be freaky. Something in our brains expect to see a face there and when it doesn't see it freaks out a bit. :twocents-02cents:
