Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn MMO

I'd never played an MMO before but this was going for a fiver at work and came with a month's free subscription so I figured I'd give it a shot. It's pretty fun. I'm a complete noob so I'm still working out things like combat and the map system (which seems pretty horrendous and counter-intuitive but I don't know if that's the norm for MMOs). I'm also playing on the PS3 as opposed to PC and I'm guessing these things are designed to be played with a mouse and keyboard as opposed to a controller.

Anyone else played/playing it?

I've played this off and on for 6 months give or take and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do play on PC so I don't find controls too much different as other MMO's I've played. Just took a day or two to get used to.

I love the graphic. The character creation impressed me, which is a huge dealbreaker for me.

Also after years of playing WoW and other MMO's I REALLY love the fact that you have ONE character that can swap between all classes and jobs. I no longer need to make 4 or more different alts and start from scratch if I want to check out other classes. I enjoyed how they worked the leveling systems/profession gear as well for things like cooking/fishing/etc.

So yes. If you couldn't tell I play it and really enjoy it. I'll shush now.

Upgraded my PC in anticipation for it, as I was still playing FFXI at the time, which was their other MMO attempt.

Never did get it though, but thinking of giving it a try now. ACF linkshell anyone?

I played it for a few weeks on steam a couple months ago. We just got a PS4, so I imagine I'll be picking it up again, and I'm pretty excited. :-D
