Hi ladies, I am hoping that you can help me with some advice. I have a few questions if thats ok?

In principal I do not have a problem with her doing it. but i do have a question or 2 for myself as well!

1- is this likely to affect our relationship?
2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result?

1- If she models what are the implications for her future career?
2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career?
3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true?
4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?)
5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model?
6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future?
7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month?

thank you in advance.

Hello,
well, actually, all the answers to your questions depend on so many things, there's really not a fixed answer for. Maybe a couple of girls will answer them from their point of view and that might give you an idea. but there's no true answer to any of them I'm afraid. Also, I'm still figuring things out myself, I've answered your question to the best of my knowledge, but other girls do this way longer to me and may have some more useful insights.

- is this likely to affect our relationship?
Can't answer that, thats between you guys
2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result?
she doesn't háve to buy a range of dildos, or any. that's totally up to her, and it's up to the two of you if this influences your sexlife.

1- If she models what are the implications for her future career?
This could be an issue, first off there's the gap in the CV, second, there ís a chance of her feed being capped and spread around the web and then there ís a chance of people recognising her and so yes, it could have an impact on her future career. If she's planning on doing anything in the public sector or education, it's wise to think things through first.

2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career?
If she's sticking to a stagename, being careful with her privacy and you guys aren't camming together I don't think there's much of a risk for you. (but it's never zero, maybe your boss watches porn and recognises her ;) )

3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true?
could be, well, if you're camming your shows will be recorded, and it's a pain to get everything taken down. it's up to you/her if that's an issue. (it's also free publicity)

4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?)
I think streamate and myfreecams.com have the best names around here.

5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model?
Have her sign up to this forum as a model.

6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future?
I'm not sure how that works in US, can't answer that.

7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month?
hehe, good question! there's really no way to tell you. depends on her hours and her success. In my experience, starting out, I think it's safe to assume a minimum wage, but that can get better real quick. or not. it's also not a stable income at all.
I can tell you the average model on MFC (judging on the median and average camscore) makes 10-20 dollars an hour before taxes. (so, depending on your location in the world, that's roughly 6-15 dollars?) there are a lot girls who do (way) better, there are a lot girls who do (way) worse.

In principal I do not have a problem with her doing it. but i do have a question or 2 for myself as well!

1- is this likely to affect our relationship?

That depends how comfortable you are with her camming, how thoroughly you've discussed what you are/are not comfortable with her doing on cam, and whether or not you're able to compromise.

2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result?

No.

1- If she models what are the implications for her future career?

The longer she cams, the harder it will be to explain the large gap in her CV, unless she's honest with future employers, at which point, yes, it can be an issue. Not every employer will be adult-work friendly. If she has any aspirations to be a teacher or a politician, then camming is a terrible idea.

2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career?

I wouldn't think so.

3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true?

It can be. Every cam girl runs the risk of having their shows recorded and put online. The only way to truly safeguard against this, is to not cam.

4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?)

MFC is the most poular, followed by Streamate, but as for which would best for her, really depends on what type of model she wants to be. Avoid Chaturbate.

5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model?

Get her to join this forum and register as a model. There's all sorts of stuff (I've been led to believe) in the models only section that can help her get set up.

6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future?

Not that I know of.

7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month?

I don't think too many cam girls will be willing to discuss financial stuff out in the open (I could be wrong) but the tippy top models earn up to 50k a month (though that doesn't happen overnight and not without a lot of hard work to reach that point), whereas the models at the other end of the spectrum might work for hours and not make any money at all. It fluctuates wildly, but generally, "average" cam girl wages are much better than minimum wage, and require working less hours than most other jobs.

EDIT: Fay beat me to it :(

1- is this likely to affect our relationship? Only if you let it.. I have a huge sex drive and it has never affected my sex life ever or my relationship.

2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result? No. There are many successful non nude models that do not even masturbate. If she wants to use toys she can buy them in whatever size she wants.

1- If she models what are the implications for her future career? Like everyone else said.. there will be gaps so thats something to think about

2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career? No.

3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true? Yes it happens and theres nothing you can do about it

4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?) Streammate or MFC

5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model? Have her become a verified model here and access forums

6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future? no..

7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month? This all depends how much she puts into it. No one can tell you how much she will make. She could average $6-$10 an hour to $50 and up an hour. Top MFC models can make more than 50k a month but this all takes time, effort and dedication.

Sure. She can set up an LLC (etc) and bank account like any other self-employment business, but the potential impact isn't really going to come from some financial sleuthing. Cam shows are often recorded and those videos are distributed, so it's most likely to come from recognition. But I suppose a corporate structure could give her some plausible deniability if some twat with a chip on their shoulder feels the need to compile evidence of her past.

wow, thank you very much for all your answers, very kind!

If its ok ill show them to her and she will likely come back with some questions of her own.

I just want to say that I personally work for a bank AND cam, and it's never been an issue for me, even when I was changing departments and from temp to employee and went through the hiring process. My employer runs a background check before hiring, but that's just to check for criminal activity. So your S/O camming should definitely not be a problem.

1- is this likely to affect our relationship?
Its possible, the best way to keep it from being a problem is (as with most things) communication.
2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result?
That totally depends on what she wants to do.
1- If she models what are the implications for her future career?
That is something to think about, because it could have detrimental effects depending on what it is that she want's to do.
2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career?
I would say little to none. Espicially if she blocks the state that you guys live in.
3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true?
it is an issue, and recorded show are a pain to take down. It can be done but it is a long process.
4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?)
I really like MyFreeCams but I've heard good things about streammate as well.
5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model?
Honestly watch other cam models to get an idea of what she is comfortable with. Also signing up for this forum!
6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future?
Setting up an LLC is possibly good for a few reasons, but I am not super knowledgable as to all of them outside of taxes.
7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month?
that really just depends on how it goes, I would say it's safe to say she would make more than minimum wage!

I just wanted to point out that your questions are too black and white. Like the dildo thing. She doesn't have to do penetration or even get naked to be successful. Those are things you can both work out as a couple. Or maybe even a trial and error thing. Like she tries cum shows, realized her sex drive went down, and stops. Easy peasy.

2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result?

This is such a strange question that I want to focus on it; because I feel like there's some kind of misconception or stereotype here.

-Your girlfriend can use dildos or not. She can do whatever she wants on cam, some girls dont even get naked. Totally up to her.
Camgirls do a lot more than just jamming things up ourselves all day. 90% of my time on cam is spent dancing and chatting.
-She can masturbate with toys without hurting herself...or at least I hope so :? IF she doesnt like large toys she can use small ones. OR again, she can skip penetration altogether.
- Does masturbation make YOU less interested in sex with a real woman? At least personally speaking, masturbation doesn't affect my desire for intimacy with other people, its a totally different thing. Touching myself makes me horny and makes me want to have sex.
- That being said, like ANY kind of job, sometimes Im tired and stressed after and can't get turned on. Im sure you have felt that way after a hard day at work yourself at some point.
- Ask her? Its your girlfriend, you two need to be able to talk about stuff like that, we can't give a good opinion since we don't know either of you.

I think you should spend some time watching cams together, she will need to anyway to find the right site and get a feel for how camming works. Tell her to come here and do some research so she can hit the ground running. Best of luck to you two!

While I agree with your answer, I don't think it is a strange question at all. It is certainly the case that there are successful models who don't masturbate and even a very small number of non nude models. But a large majority of models do use toys and there is a certain fascination with big toys, so for the most part when a model whips out a big toy her room count increases. Generally speaking the use of big toys and lots of masturbation leads to more money. I also been told by plenty of models that excessive of use of these toys causes soreness, which I got to believe would make a girl less interested in sex.. But as Jesse says it very well may have the opposite effect.

The other question that you need to ask yourself, is will it make you more or less interested in sex, knowing that hundreds of guys have watched your girlfriend masturbate? For some guys this will be a turn on, for others a turn off, and it maybe one of those questions that you won't know the answer to until you experienced it first hand.

As far as the financial aspects given that you are in the financial industry, some data might be helpful. MyCamGirl.net has lot of information on the number of models, average camscore, hours worked etc. primarily for myfreecams.com. The one piece of additional information you need is that a camscore of 1000 is approximately $20/hour. The median camscore is 670. She'll have to pay her own social security/medicare tax (7.65% additional in the US) and there are no benefits. . As you look at the site you'll notice that very few girls average more than 20 hours a week. So while the hourly wages especially for an American girl are higher the total earnings may not be all that much more than a regular full time job. Some girls get a lot of gifts many quite expensive. A ton of factors influence earnings: looks, age, experience, body type, personality, sexual adventurousness, creativity, intelligence, luck, nationality, and some magic "it" factor. It is also quite common that girls start off badly and do better, and perhaps even more common for the reverse. About 75% of the girls quit within their first 3 months. Camming hasn't be around a long enough to give accurate info, but it seems to me that not many girls do it more than a few years.

My guess (emphasis guess) is that if she tries it for a few months and doesn't like she'd have to be unlucky to have a negative impact on her future career. On the other hand if she become successful enough to start making a 6 figure income, odds are excellent that her shows will be recorded and stored on the internet. It isn't too hard to imagine a future where you can point your smart phone at someone, in much the same way Amazon's Firefly technology tells you about products, and have it tell you about a person.

My personal opinion is that if you are feeling insecure about the size or amount of sex toys she has, you guys have a lot more talking to do or else her camming is just going to cause some resentment.

Yes, it is going to effect your relationship in some way or another, but that doesn't mean it has to be a negative thing. It would probably help to separate "work GF" from your sex life and personal time with her. For me, yes cam is a very sexual thing but it is also a very different thing from my personal sex life.

Keep the line of communication open between both of you. I have heard of so many issues in situations like this that could be solved if couples were honest with each other about how they were feeling. Your concerns are valid and so are hers.

.

I think you really misunderstood the point I was making :?

YES sticking big things in yourself to excess hurts. Hurt vagina = not wanting to have sex.
I also been told by plenty of models that excessive of use of these toys causes soreness, which I got to believe would make a girl less interested in sex.. But as Jesse says it very well may have the opposite effect.
Are you misquoting me to try and make me look stupid? I never said hurting your vagina would make you want to have sex. BEING AROUSED knowing how to pleasure yourself will lead to a happier sex life. I was saying that you shouldn't be hurting your vagina at all in the first place, and I think you're wrong that in order to be successful models need to use large toys to the point where they're sore. Thats just ridiculous. The room count may shoot up when a girl starts waving a giant dildo around, but it also shoots up when she's using her hitachi or showing her vag or anything. Some girls DONT get sore from large toys and prefer them too!.

The point I was trying to make is that she should know her body/preferences/and limits and be able to put on a show without harming herself. I know of TONS of very popular models who use large dildos, small glass dildos, vibrators, and everything in between.

TL;DR: Hurting yourself or using large toys is entirely unnecessary for success (and if you enjoy big dicks, thats cool too!). I don't even think a model who isn't into this has to work "harder" than the girls who do.

I understood your point, that was just me being lazy and forgetting a paragraph, me bad sorry.

My main point was that I think the OPs questions were reasonable and entirely normal. If it I was my girlfriend and I was unfamiliar with camming I'd have the same questions he did.
I think the point which we all agree on is become familiar with the camming world before starting into. Jessi is right there are many ways of becoming a successful cam models, many of which should have little to do with your sex life. But I am also right some of the most lucrative ways of camming, may have both physical and psychological impacts on your relationship and sex life. As a couple you may have to make a trade off between $ and comfort level.

I think it's great that you're both thinking about it before deciding whether camming is a good idea, though as many people have pointed out, there are no black and white answers. It will affect your relationship. How and to what extent are going to depend on what both of you want and your communication. Moral and social sexual norms are beaten in to us pretty hard, and even open-minded people can find they get hung up on certain things. Communication is key, but that's often easier in theory than reality.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but in terms of future- beyond having gaps in employment, depending on where she wants to work, it CAN be found in a background check. In depth background checks, like many people have to go through to work with children/in medical fields/ etc. will often bring up every company that has paid money to you and reported it to the IRS. (That would be every cam site..) While this may or may not be an issue, all anyone would have to do is google the names of payers and it would be pretty obvious.

It's also worth mentioning that even if she has a background check, etc. and is hired, she can technically be working somewhere for awhile and STILL be at risk if someone were to find out and didn't like it. I know of instances where sex workers have been fired from jobs after a period of time for their previous work because not including it in employment history can technically be considered lying on an application, which is generally grounds for termination. Being recognized is not LIKELY, but it's possible.

In terms of affecting YOUR employment, it's also possible. Do other guys who work in finance watch porn? If they recognize her, could it potentially cause problems with your employer?

Everyone has their shows capped and uploaded somewhere at one point or another. How often and how many probably depends on popularity. They can be very difficult to get taken down. Some people don't respond to DMCA takedown notices at all, or target people who send them and upload more of their content.

The bottom line is that if any of these possibilities- possible impact on future career, possibility of family finding out, etc.- bother her very much, it's probably not the right choice. Camming can be great for many people, but if the idea of your coworker or cousin or guy down the block finding out induce panic, I would say it's not worth the risk.

>1- is this likely to affect our relationship?

Only if you let it. At first, it is natural to feel uneasy, maybe jealous, but you NEED to be good at communicating your emotions.
When fighting, you cannot hold this job against her. If you do, or ever think you will, you need to communicate that you aren't comfortable with this.

>2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result?

Not all girls use toys, do cum shows, are nude and etc; for some girls, masturbating makes them more excited and want to do it more. Or she may possibly be too tired for it, since camming can be very emotionally and physically draining despite preconceived notions of what out jobs entail.

>1- If she models what are the implications for her future career?

Most likely won't be able to work for a Fortune 500 company, as a doctor, with kids, or larger companies that do thorough background checks.

>2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career?

As of now, you're not married, so maybe not unless you have a really nosy HQ that is judgemental, and you don't have your FB on lock down.

>3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true?

IT WILL DEFINITELY BE RECORDED, EVEN IF SHE DOES NOTHING. Take it from me lol.

>4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?)

Subjective, but usually bigger sites do offer better payout rates, and are trusted by both members and models (IE MyFreeCams, Chaturbate, and Streammate).

>5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model?

Sign up to this forum, read the threads, and use the search function before asking questions. :) If it isn't answered, feel free to make a thread. The ladies here are amazing.
But my basic tips?
Be a more energetic, and happy version of yourself. Play games, be funny, make jokes, do shows that are within your limit, be kind to all who enter your room, and work on your "brand."

>6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future?

She can sign up under a studio/private business name, but it wouldn't really be hard to figure out that she works on a camsite with a little bit of digging.

>7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month?

$0 - infinity.
This is tip based, you never know if you have 1 regular who is all your income who leaves, or 100 people who tip a bit.
It depends on your regular base, appeal, how much time you spend online, and some of it is also how much effort you spend into making your room and/or shows great.

A bit about me me before I give my :twocents-02cents: - my boyfriend stumbled upon MFC and suggested that I give it a go. 5 months on, and I earn far more than my vanilla job, which I recently quit to cam full-time. Because I have a similar situation to yourself (I'm still new and me & him are still working out the kinks), I feel my answers could be valuable. :)

1- is this likely to affect our relationship? Only in a positive way. Since I started camming, I am a more relaxed, confident person. I think higher of myself. I also own a shit ton more sexy lingerie than I used to, so he loves that. ;) I ask him to take polaroids and sexy Snapchats of me at times - but what man doesn't wanna do that? In many ways our relationship is better than ever. He enjoys watching me when I'm on cam, and he loves all the sexy Snapchats and videos he gets.

2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result? My boyfriend worried about this too. While dildos feel nice, nothing compares to the connection, sensuality and pure ecstasy of having sex with him. I do need a vibrator to cum during sex, but I've needed that long before I started camming. You do also need to remember that if she's on cam and has been having one of those shows where she uses lots of dildo and cums lots, she may just not feel up to having sex when you arrive home. Be understanding about this.

1- If she models what are the implications for her future career? Gaps in the CV, and being recognized. Basically what everyone else said!

2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career? Only one is being recognized.

3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true? It can be an issue if it's shared elsewhere on the internet for free. One or two of my regulars have recorded shows of mine before, due to them paying for the shows themselves - and they know that if they share them, they'll never hear from me again.

4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?) Myfreecams.

5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model? Be herself, start how she means to go on, and read this forum like the bible.

6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future? No matter what you do, there's always risk. Always.

7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month? Impossible to say. Depending on when she's on and for how long, it varies.

I'm going to preface this that I was in a relationship already when I started camming, and before that I was doing phone sex
1- is this likely to affect our relationship? I wouldn't say affect as in a negative thing, but keep in mind there are things that may change. I know for me, things changed. To be successful, you have to be kind of attached to social media in some ways. That's something you have to be ready for, because I know in my relationship, it sometimes did bother Boss. We talked about it though and made it better. Communication is going to be key between you too.
2- is she going to have to buy a huge range of dildos or something and use them all day and not feel like having sex with me when i get home as a result? I can't speak for other models, but I prefer the real thing to a dildo. My sex drive is also very high, and was even higher than my partners. I wanted sex more often than he did. And that's okay. I also don't know your girlfriend's sex drive. Also, keep in mind that somethings may happen on cam. I can't tell you enough how I've accidentally gone too hard on myself and had to take a night off.

1- If she models what are the implications for her future career? She can't be an elected official, I'll tell you that much! If she's pursuing a career in more "moral" based things, it may be difficult. Whenever there are morality clauses in jobs, it'll be hard.
2- I work in financial services, are there any implications for my career? See above. Also, if you are worried, avoid having any photos of you on her social media for camming. I did that with Boss because of his career.
3- I understanding that people recording her shows may be an issue? is this true? Some models may disagree, but if they record the shows where I'm on cam, there's not much I can do. Fighting those kind of issues are drops in the pond compared to trying to fight for people posting clips on free sites. (Meaning recorded videos she sells). Now if she only does group shows or privates, then she may have a dog in that fight. I'm not sure.
4- What sites are the best for her to model on? (ie pay the best and give the best protection?) Honestly? It depends on what she is looking to do. MFC is great for a huge community and chatroom, whereas StreamMate is great for privates and more one on one. I personally went to Chaturbate first, and then MFC.
5- having read all of your responses, if she still wishes to do this, are there any tips that you would help her to become a good model? Do not stress bad days! Camming is such an up and down. And that's what I'm learning the hard way! I would also recommend that she tries it out first before making hardcore plans and kind of play it out. When I started, I didn't have clubs or content. I just got on, did a countdown and logged off. I built a following and then started offering content.
6- can you set yourself up as a private business so that the cam site pays your business and therefore protects any further career options you may wish to consider in future? This I'm unsure of. I'm sorry.
7- how much does a poor/average/best cam girl earn in a week/ month? That is such a hard question for me. I think I'm an average camgirl as far as my ranking goes, and I make enough to live on. I can't get my own place though with my earnings.

I hope this helps her! One thing I'd also recommend is you two watching some models together and getting an idea of what she will be doing.
:D Good luck!
