Just curious what your logical reasoning is for telling models that their behavior is extreme? You just keep saying it is......

Is it because you feel they have nothing to worry about? Is it because you feel these stalker situations don't happen?
As long as we're asking PRISM questions... Do you find it hypocritical that in one thread you're asking for advice on hiding your own personal information from a prospective employer (https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/viewt ... 15&t=20155) while simultaneously berating others for whatever standards they may choose to have in their own privacy with their clients/fans?

1. That was about taxes.
2. I'm not berating models, just don't want models to go insane from others hyping up fears.

Yes, it is all hype.

Well since were supposed to be posting different things a model may want to select as an option for increased privacy protection. Having even an active personal Facebook account as a model may be something you may want to even not consider having since you have to make sure that you do not mention your actual likes in music, movies, books etc. on cam sites

Facebook allows searching like this:

Code:
females that live in "insert name of city","state or country" and like "name of singer 1" and "name of singer 2" and "insert age"

Code:
females named "Insert name" that live in "insert name of city","state or country" and like "insert name of singer" and are "insert age"

And even if you set your profile to high level so people can't see what your posting about, your pics etc. If you like something posted by someone else the person can find out by going to the search bar and clicking into it and selecting posts liked by "insert name"

Supposed to? Did someone drag you out of your bed at gunpoint and force you to post all this crap?

So giving people a heads up about some of the less known features of FB is crap?

Giving a heads up about the obvious is a waste of bandwidth.

There is no need to be bitter about everything

You do understand that there are people out in the world that think wearing a short skirt is an invitation for sex, right?

So, a "video chat host" who interacts with members involving masturbation, sex acts, etc., might feel the need to justifiably protect themselves from the potential crazies out there that may believe that interaction means they can "surprise" you by showing up at your home unannounced with a dozen roses and the expectation of taking what they were doing "on cam" to the next level.

Think about the dynamic. What is done between the model and member is intimate. Sometimes this intimacy can get blurred. Especially when there is money involved. "You owe me" "You said I was sexy" "I have been spending every day in your chatroom for three years, I thought we were close".

And yes, there are plenty of cam models that this has happened to. Why should we wait to be victims to protect ourselves from the potential danger? It isn't paranoia. It is reality.
I see this happen on a regular basis. I'm going to give as few details as possible, but one of my favorites has a regular who I think is certifiable. Normally when she performs any type of masturbation I leave the room, but one time I stayed a bit longer than usual and heard him say, "I wish I could go over there and help you with that." If it were up to me I would have banned his ass a looong time ago.

ETA: And oh yeah, then there are assholes who think it is fun to get your personal information and "out" you, because they suck. There are a lot of misogynists on camsites. They LOVE to hate women. While they stroke their cocks.
I just wanted to comment that this isn't ironic at all, although at first glance some might think it is. In my opinion, most porn (and I'm going to try to be really nice here, and once again give as few details as possible) is created by men who hate women. This is my personal explanation for why most women who engage in sex work have poor self esteem, as well as prior history of abuse.

what is wrong with the guy stating the fantasy he has? It seems more like innocent role playing from what your describing.

I guess you missed the part where I said I was going to give as few details as possible? That's just one thing. I could easily name a dozen more. He practically stalks her on the MFC site. He sends her "romantic" gifts. And you're forgetting I see his public chat on a regular basis. The guy is certifiable. And that's all I'm going to say.

A heckuva lot of people have a prior history of abuse.

There's obviously going to be *some* self-selection for certain circumstances/states-of-being and occupations. For instance, the rates of psychopathology in CEOs. But that doesn't mean that all CEOs have this tendency, or that having the tendency leads to one becoming a CEO.

1 in 4 children are sexually abused before age 18, and that's just the data gathered from reported abuse, and also doesn't include other forms of abuse.

So....yeah. *does "Correlation Does Not Equal Causation" dance* ha-cha-cha-cha

OK, almost time to clock in for my McDonald's shift.

PS
I'm not posting this to necessarily engage with A, but for the sake of other readers.

Most porn is created by people that want to make money they couldn't care less about the male, female,or transgendered models they hire for the movies.

Well "Personal" Privacy is nearly dead.

http://www.geek.com/apps/facebooks-deep ... o-1615262/

Facebook and Google will probably not be using deep learning for facial recognition in ways that may help stalkers, But with recent developments from companies such as NVIDIA and Samsung, in about 2 years it will be available to do massive facial recognition for a fraction of the price today.

for the love of God, please, cam models, stop using skype without the use of a vpn. MFC, chaturbate and all of it...it lives off of perv men willing to pay money to see women naked, or desperate to talk to a woman. All it takes for them to find out a rough geographic location, if you're not using a vpn/tunnel, is to simply paste your ip, found via a skype resolver, into a site like http://www.iplocation.net/, for example.

I have seen far too many in the lower...brackets? posting teeepa meeya para la skype blah x minutos kind of crap...so wrong, so bad, so unsecure. Please be safe in all that you do. Men are insatiable beasts, especially when they feel that have invested something in you.

I wish you all the best. Please watch out for the sickos. I've had things said about me, but despite it all, I have not breached trust to the public, despite what some may think. Good luck and God bless. I won't be responding.
There's over 30,000 active cam girls on MFC, and who knows how many men. Browse through a few of their rooms and you'll quickly see that each girl has her own approach to camming and attracts her own unique set of regulars. So if your perception of men is that they are "perv", "desperate", "insatiable beasts", and "sickos", I feel that says more about you and your particular approach to camming than it does about men in general.

And fyi, every ip location service available to the public is gimped; so every cam girl who mails things out to her fans is probably providing better or equivalent information about her location. Not to mention you can read through this entire thread and not find one mention of the absolutely easiest way to obtain an ip address.

If you are incorporated or organized as an LLC in the U.S., most states will allow you to look up basic information about that entity such as the principal address and names of officers. Just be aware of that before throwing your company name into a website, copyright disclaimer statement, etc.

I would have simply shot an email through Gmail using Yesware for reverse-ip lookup. If that doesn't work, it means the model is smart and is rocking a proxy. Next step is to start analyzing the hidden meta information in images trying to find any geodata or other useful information. Next step is psychological hacking and classic detective work. Timezone, accent, using words like "coke" vs "pop", "yous's" vs "Yous guys" vs "yall". Little pieces of info are trivial by themselves, but combined can start building a profile.

*BUT* it all starts from reverse-IP in the email, so be smart and hide your shit!

Very disturbing.

Two things. Your thinking on this is wrong. You're not going to get the persons ip address from using Yesware. Yesware tries to track by putting a single pixel image into the email. When you open it, that link shows up on their servers as being retrieved. Gmail automatically uses its own proxy servers to host all images it sends you in emails. So when you open it Yesware would get their ip address, not yours.

See here for googles explanation on this.
How Gmail makes images safe
Some senders try to use externally linked images in harmful ways, but Gmail takes action to ensure that images are loaded safely. Gmail serves all images through Google’s image proxy servers and transcodes them before delivery to protect you in the following ways:

  • Senders can’t use image loading to get information like your IP address or location.
  • Senders can’t set or read cookies in your browser.
  • Gmail checks your images for known viruses or malware.
In some cases, senders may be able to know whether an individual has opened a message with unique image links. As always, Gmail scans every message for suspicious content and if Gmail considers a sender or message potentially suspicious, images won’t be displayed and you’ll be asked whether you want to see the images.

As an added backup to that, install UglyEmail for chrome. When you get an email that will track you in any way it shows an evil eye next to the subject line in gmail (on the website, not email software like outlook).
So it looks like this.

You can easily see if you open that email it's going to send tracking info off.
Check if email is being tracked.
Ugly Email is a Gmail extension that allows you to see if the email is being tracked before opening it. It seamlessly integrates with Gmail.

Ugly Email safely sniffs through the emails in your inbox and exposes the emails that are being tracked. Every tracked email is marked with the "evil eye" so you can easily identify them.

wow this is an amazing thread. i'm going to start adding to this. Also (dont kill me if im wrong/or this has already been posted) but Skype doesnt give your IP address anymore. They did an update very recently to fix that. Then again, Microsoft has said that before.

The only IP addresses it doesn't track is the ones that are hidden and from usps.gov, which it doesn't matter what department or what facility, the IP address will always come up as Raleigh, NC. I'm talking from experience, not a FAQ. Even managed to catch some incredibly funky and eyebrow raising shit when we realized all emails sent to a former Microsoft employee was also being opened in Redmond, WA. The former employee didn't believe me or anyone else until we showed her in person.

Gonna have to test UglyEmail. Never heard of it before.

......Don't use the tool in any malicious ways, but for B2B emails it's invaluable. Can gauge interest, see if the emails are being forwarded around and where in the world they're being forwarded to. Also know when someone is blatantly blowing you off, too.

Which works poorly if the recipient doesn't allow images or other remote content to be rendered in their MUA.

Even if you have an IP address, reverse IP lookups aren't that helpful anyway, usually they'll tell you the internet service provider and nothing else. Mine is different, since I have IPv4 and IPv6 subnets and maintain accurate whois data for them, but I'm not a cam performer.

It's still a lot less elaborate than trying to get an IP address from a web property. Cheaper, too. Granted, a throw-away domain is only a couple bucks, but that's still a couple bucks.....

Websites - WHOIS

Does the girl have her own website? Is she the webmaster? Often girls will purchase their own domain names, and forget that domain name ownership information is public via a WHOIS lookup. Let's check out http://ambercutie.com -

Unfortunately, Amber and Jawbs were smart. The WHOIS information for this website shows a name and an address, but it's not their home address. Instead, it shows a domain name proxy, which is a service many companies will provide (sometimes for a fee).

In many cases though, you'll be able to see a girl's real name and home address here.

I saw on a webmaster blog that not all domain names providers are making your information public. The blog gave namecheap.com as an example. Who can confirm?
I checked (search on random sites I found) and I know that with OVH and Godaddy, all your informations (name and address) are public via WHOIS.

All providers are supposed to make your info public by default, but nearly all of them, including GoDaddy, have or partner with a privacy service. If you sign up for that (at a small additional fee), the WHOIS listing will have the privacy service's info instead. The privacy service is supposed to forward any messages they receive about the domain to you, though I don't think I've ever had that happen.
