Oh man, I’m torn on this post. I love brownies (especially if they’re the best ever). But I’m on a strict diet these days, so the temptation is tough.
Anyone have good tips for making salads more tasty without adding a ton of sodium?
I like to add spicy, fresh radishes.
If you don't want a fatty dressing, you can experiment with vinegars, oil, fresh herbs, and a little sugar.
Lime juice goes good in
some salads too.
I also frequently add horseradish sauce to my salad dressings, as well, just to give it a little kick.
Cojita is good, but not sure if high in salt.
If you're avoiding a certain ingredient, I'd just make a dressing, on my own. It's very simple and fast.
You could also make your own croutons, in the oven, from fresh bread.
Coat them in unsalted seasonings (all the Mrs Dash's are salt free) and unsalted butter.
The mistake I taste most novice chefs make is too little or no seasoning. Seasonings really make the dish, but you want to experiment around for your palette and get them right.
Less is more, to begin.
Until you find the correct herbs, that resonate w your chi any given day, that is, hehe.
ETA; Something I've turned a lot of people on to, is buying a red cabbage, and shredding it raw. Then adding a generous amount to your salad too.
It's so healthy, flavorful, and has a great mouth feel!
Same with raw shredded brussel sprouts also.
