I've never used it but yeah I believe the cam is optional. Seems like most of the gals on there who do use cams use Skype and charge for their Skype ID on there.

There are two menus on the left side - one is an option specifically for gals with cams. I believe the rest are just phone.

I think it's more personal feeling talking directly in the person's ear, while at the same time having an easier time knowing there isn't any judgement since the other can't see what's going on. It's also easier to let your imagination run when you can't see what's going on, as well as it being a super easy way to dirty talk if the person isn't used to it, since then each can talk turns saying things like and what are you wearing/touching/doing/whatever now?

I'm glad phone sex hasn't been completely replaced by camming, since I enjoy both.
