I've been seeing multiple popular MFC models protecting their tweets all of a sudden. Is there a troll targeting popular MFC models on Twitter?

It probably has to do with shadowbanning and twitter deleting/suspending accounts that post pornography.
It is a type of ban where their tweets don't show up in timelines or feeds but they are unaware they are banned.

Adult content has never been allowed per se. Twitter won't do anything if it goes unreported and they have no reason to notice it, but you can't advertise monetarily or even really get verified without running the risk of being banned for pornography. It seems like most models who post nudity are shadow banned
But you can get shadow banned for simply marking your tweets as "NSFW", or allowing auto-tweets from MFC/ManyVids/etc. Apparently you can get rid of the ban by telling Twitter you're interested in buying ads (I haven't tried this on my own shadow banned account)Check to see if a Twitter is shadow banned: http://shadownban-checker.xho.bedita.net/

I don't post nudes on Twitter, but I do sometimes label links NSFW. Is that enough to catch a ban now?

I don't THINK I'm shadowbanned... I've never checked though because everything seems normal to me so meh. If you see a significant change, I get it but it seems like I see a lot of people freaking out just because a site told them they are shadowbanned even though nothing on twitter really changed for them.
Anywho some models accounts did get hacked yesterday, and their pics and headers were changed to those "cum see me bb tits click link" it was crazy. If anyone get's an email from twitter saying someone is trying to access your account and offering a temp password and link to change it, do not click. It appears to a be a phishing scam. go to twitter directly through another tab and change your password on your own.

I'm not shadowbanned but this is some good info I didn't know you could buy the advertisement and it will unshadowbann. I may have to tell a few friends see if it works for them!It seems like most models who post nudity are shadow banned

It doesn't tell you anywhere. Most people don't know how it works at all, 'tis a mystery.
But there's a link earlier in the thread to "check" if an account is "shadowbanned". I put everything in quotes because there's no confirmation anywhere of how the whole thing actually works, just a lot of assumptions and guestimations.

So what's the ultimate bottom line on this? Is pornographic material allowed on Twitter or not? I've read their rules - as vague as they are - and IIRC, it said something to the effect that pornographic media is OK insofar as it is tagged as 'adult content'. The other exception I saw was "No pornographic video media" but photos were OK.
The weird thing is I've never seen an option to manually tag my posts as 'adult content' - it seems to happen automatically.
I don't know what to think anymore. Obviously, because of my tags/Twitter algorithms, my newsfeed is FULL of fellow models' stuff, and I see porn being posted constantly without reprisal.
Like everyone here, I don't want (and cannot afford) to have my Twitter banned. It'd be helpful to know the official rule here. Anyone?
Also, those of you who have been 'shadowbanned' or otherwise locked out of Twitter/removed - what was it that you "did" that caused it?

I think I'm shadowbanned, but I honestly don't give a flip. As long as my followers can find my page and see my tweets then I don't care. My account is marked as adult and sensitive, but that's because I chose those settings for my account because I'm not comfortable with children easily accessing my twitter page. I also have an "18+ followers only" warning on my header.
As far as twitter rules, who fucking knows. I actively use my instagram, tumblr, snapchat, reddit, and tube site accounts so that if my twitter ever does get banned I can quickly switch my hustle and avoid any lost sales. It's the safest bet I've found.
I believe it's an all or nothing thing, if you set your account as having "sensitive media" it marks all of your images/gifs that way.
For a long while now I've really felt that the hot button term "shadowban' was being thrown around incorrectly. I wish that article could have gone into better detail about why the "shadowban checker" site(s) are telling so many people they are banned when they are not really.
There definitely IS something happening, as so many of us have felt/seen our impressions decline since Twitter made their initial search option changes and whatnot, though.

They don't give details, but it seems clear that basically any account with any adult content is now marked as sensitive.
The default settings changed; "Hide sensitive content" in the search defaults to on and "Display media that may contain sensitive content: defaults to off.
The timeline defaults to "Show the best Tweets first" and "sensitive" media seem to be getting a lower ranking in that.
So if you follow camgirls and you don't change the default settings everywhere you will not see a lot of tweets.
The problem is that each of your followers has to change their settings, there is nothing you can do on your side except inform them (but they might not see that tweet!).
An other thing that might also influence your impression rate is Twitter's push to get more advertisers, you might have seen something like "This tweet could reach more people, blabla, if you buy advertising".
And Twitter seems to like changing your settings sometimes, I have had to change them back several times already.
