I got a scarf from one lady, and also a bracelet (leather strap basically), in 2 separate Christmases.
The scarf is still in use 5 years later. It is Barbour, so top quality, tartan pattern, bloody lovely. Bring it out each and every year as it gets colder and wear it to work and back/out socialising. Received a
lot of admiring comments over it. Brilliant, practical, present. Practical is what I appreciated most - something that gets use. The bracelet is worn a lot less, not because it's not nice, just because I'm not a jewellery type of person; i don't even wear a watch. However, it still gets worn occasionally.
You know your fans and you could just ask? Personally, I'd want something non work related (no photos, or normal work/prize type affairs); it's Christmas, gifts are given because people care about others on a personal level - not for marketing. So I don't think there's anything wrong with asking if there's anything they'd like, or trawling conversations/steering conversations to see if they've mentioned a favourite hobby/passion etc that a little bit of research could unearth an interesting possible present
