Good Morning all.

I have a question. It's curiosity not for academic work or an article just curiosity.

Do you think members with some education (studies or\and easy access to culture) are less exposed to do some mistake like making confusion between camsite and Facebook or dating site. Or considering online relationship like real life relationships?
I'm not talking about douches or people who are dealing with some disorder or big life problems.

Hahaha, no.

That's like saying the more intelligent you are the more likely you are to be a socially awkward nerd. It's actually quite the opposite. The more intelligible and thus I'm assuming generally higher educated you are the more likely you are to realize a camsite is not a dating site or something similar to Facebook.

Sorry, I interpreted your post as a question. If that's the conclusion you are trying to draw, then yes, I agree with you. More intelligent or in some cases more educated= faster comprehension and thus better capabilities of evaluating social situations effectively.

Personally, I think it's much simpler than the differing levels of education across the membership of camsites and the internet in general. I think it is more like an indication as to the impact the internet is having on the quality of social interaction of the human race.

As someone who has enjoyed a good portion of his life spent in a pre-internet world, I believe that the way the net is used now by many sub 30 y.o. folks is the cause for concern. Many individuals in that age group have spent maybe 20 years, or more, traversing the internet in such a way that it has become the norm for them to be there. However, instead of adding to their real world skills and social abilities... a bolt-on or plugin if you will, it has for many become a replacement to the real world altogether. Individuals, possibly without even realising it, are allocating more time to their net connectivity and as a consequence neglecting their human interconnectivity.

Thus, we have many individuals out there with poor real world social skills. They find it hard to differentiate where the cyber world stops and the real world begins. They stress about the FOMO/FOBO in their online existence. Boundaries are hard for them to see or define. Language, written or spoken, often comes across as blunt and harsh... and they are totally adrift when it comes to reading body language or understanding how their statements and opinions may be interpreted or the impact it may have on others. Some are embarking on virtual relationships (or very long distance ones) for example, without ever having had any substantial real world relationships, from which they could draw experience and understanding.

Long time net users are effectively losing (or failing to even develop) the basic social skills and abilities to communicate with our fellow members of the human race. To me, that is kinda scary and a good clue as to why places like twitter... a great idea, well ruined... is full of people who seem to have a never ending addiction to friction. My pet name for twitter at the moment is the Friction Factory!

Happy "Blue Moon" Thursday folks!

This tends to happen more because of advertising marketing camsites as dating/hookup/whatever sites. The amount of traffic we get on Streamate from dudes who were stupid enough to click on "hook up with hot singles in your area!" ads is frequently annoying. I always thought nobody clicked on ads on Pornhub and such because "everybody knows they'll just give you viruses", but, wow, was I wrong!

I think you're onto something. I read an article long ago about how the younger generations emotionally identify more so upon seeing an emote than their peer's real time facial expressions. This could be sort of tangential to the overall topic but nonetheless extremely fascinating. I haven't followed up or checked the references of the study to see if there's been any further data to support the claim since.

Hmmmm you've left me over here scratching my head now about this one.

Education level goes a long way in providing the needed skills for professional communication, but the immediacy and sound byte driven levels of communication provided by the internet(twitter..etc.) tends to degrade the level of perception we can infer from such messages. Add in hormones, erections and emotions, and even crowned princes can succumb to doing or saying some really stupid shit.

I'm not sure education has much to do with it. Another part of a person's personality governs emotion. Smart, educated people can mistake attention for love as easily lesser educated people can.

(Sorry if this rambles, I need sleep.)

No, I think you summed it up quite well. Just like you said, a college-educated person can most definitely misconstrue these things as easily as, say, a high school graduate can. Plus, there can be other factors, such as their personality and how they perceive things. A lesser educated person may not have those college degrees, but it's not like that's a necessity to be a well-functioning human being. There are other things such as being "street smart" and just using your own life experience/common sense when making a judgment call. Now I feel like I am rambling...

A woman clicking the heart reaction button on your Facebook post about politics does not mean that she's into you and wants the dick, but you know there are guys out there who would totally believe that that's exactly what it means. Lol.
