hi gals,

Im really crap with technical stuff & was wondering if anyone could help me out, coz ive looked all over the internet and i still have NO idea how to do it....

I sell videos on my profile and at the moment i just have written descriptions of them, but id really like to be able to make them into little thumbnails that show a few clips when you hover the mouse over them.

does anyone know how to do this?

would really appreciate any help :)

Media Player Classic: http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/
You can make an image with multiple thumbs (as many thumbs as you want and the size you want): File > Save thumbnails...
Or you can take a picture of any frame: File > Save image...

VideoLAN (in case you don't use Windows): http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
You can only take pictures of frames: Video > Snapshot

;)

so with this its just a still image? i kinda wanted it to be rotating. Like the way skinvideo has it
must be possible somehow, probably complicated aswell lol

Oh, sorry. I didn't see that part about the mouse over. That effect uses JavaScript and you won't be able to insert the code on your MFC profile.

To do like kristyLIVE does, you just need to make an animated gif. I'm sure there are some software that grabs frames from videos and make an animated gif from it, but I don't know any. I know that Photoshop and Gimp seem to have something like that, but I never tried.

You can also take pictures of the video with one of those software I mentioned and then use gickr (http://www.gickr.com/) to make an animated gif (up to 10 pictures).

I hope this time I've been more useful ;)

well, all an animation like that is - take a few still pictures, use an online gif creator or photoshop (if you want more control) and have them display in a progression.

Trust me, it's not hard, it would take you 20 minutes to learn it, vs having to ask someone everytime you want to do something like this.

How to make a GIF with GIMP (free image editing program, kinda like photoshop). He shows via making images / frames. You'd have to either open and copy/paste the images into frames or something similar.

This is how to make an animated GIF from a video using GIMP - but without sound/voice explanation, it means you need to read what's going on :)

For nearly any "how to" you can find a video on youtube for it ;)
