But just wanted to ask if anyone has since found a solution to deleting or blocking unsolicited DMs on Chaturbate?
I haven't been online on CB for 4 days, and just logged in to find 12 new DMs from complete unknowns, all sent within the last 10-12 hours.
I've come to expect it occasionally when I'm active on the site, but find it weird they're messaging me when I've been off the site for days. Grrrrr.
How are they finding my username? Room is password-protected and not visible on the home page.
And CB please PLEASE let us all delete unwanted messages!

I get one off the same model at more or less the same time every day. Never visited her room once.

I've also in the past had repeated DMs from another model, the content of which is just my username. I suspect bots in both instances.

There are ways to DM even a password protected user, i dont know why they are targetting you that much though. Are you tipping models enough to where people would want to take the time to target you that much?

Edit: Please dont try to be helpful and post how its done, I know its easy but the less people that know about it the better.

It happens all the time. I've had 4 messages today alone. I'm dark purple but not crazily so. Presumably they can't differentiate a moderate dark purple user from a whale anyway. Shoot enough bullets into enough barrels though and I guess you'll get a fish/whale.

Honestly, I agree with you guys on this one. It's annoying and spammy as Hell. I logged on to my MV customer account the other day to like 30 notifications and about 30 DMs from models I've never met or interacted with on there. ,My first instinct was just to close the window and not bother even doing what I went there to do, because it was so annoying. A lot of them were worded super familiar and personal, which irritated me even further. Fake.
Annoying.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE getting warm, personal messages from people I have interacted with a bit on these sites. But, strangers? Come on. Get real.

From our side, if someone follows us we want to entice them, but I didn't even follow any of these models. It was annoying AF.
Some people like to keep their DMs organized, and intentional, not overflowing with shite.
(Again, different if you actually followed or subbed to the model, then clearly you are interested.)

Like a week ago I noticed I had sent a DM to someone telling them to follow me on fanberry....the only change I can think of is that I'm using the lovense app that chaturbate offers as well as the lovense browser now, maybe they're interacting. I've never had a mod and I usually wouldn't DM someone like that so idk. I tried to message them again to apologize and say it wasn't me but they had left my room already.

I use the Lovense browssr and never sent a DM to anyone and have no DMs that weren't sent by me in my history.

Though I am unclear what you mean by "Lovense app that Chaturbate offers."

It's called "Lovense Control (Officials)". Lovense was running a contest for a little prize if models started running it and the winners were announced at the beginning of July but I never disabled it bc I've found it useful.

Is it in the app panel or the browser panels?

Well it would have been nice if CB had told everyone. What do you find useful about it?
To me it looks aesthetic running in my broadcast panel. It has a multi-goal menu so you can keep track of goals, kinda like the dream goals app, but then it also swaps between that on the broadcast panel and two other images, one with a counter that shows your highest tipper and last tip, and the other showing your QR code for toy control. It's nothing too fancy that other apps couldn't do but I thought it fit my vibe of my room. However if it's the reason that DM was sent then I'd definitely just go back to the dream goals app. :bag: But it hasn't happened before or since that one time so I'm just waiting to see if it happens again.

Interesting, I'll check it out, thanks for explaining. :)

This would be a good time to change your CB password

I'm sure there is, I just mentioned having a pw because I can't figure out how or why these accounts are finding my username when I've not been on the site in days, and my page isn't accessible, offline or online. None of the users sending DMs have followed me, and usually DMs I get come from models who join the room where I'm actively tipping. Now there's a bunch sent when I'm offline.

Highly doubt it, I'm usually only in one particular room and although I usually get through up to 10k a show, I'm by no means a whale.
Maybe (as has been suggested) some bot is scraping usernames from room lists and adding those to a group mailout.........

Doing 10k on a regular basis is more than enough to get peoples attention.

....I'm sure you know exactly what site they are using to find you. You may not realize the site has features like that but it's there.

I get those all the time and just add them to my ignore list. Don't see DM messages from them again. I also report them to CB all the time for spam messaging but usually nothing is done. I guess CB got their $20 for the supporter account so they can send them and don't care about user complaints.

I think models should be restricted to sending DMs or PMs only to users who are in their room or following them. At the same time users should also be restricted to that as well

Sorry for the double post

But the reason I don't think anyone should be able to PM a model is because someone could drop some totally nefarious thing in there and she/they get punished. Like what the fuck. How can you run a mental health line for models but insist on including features that fuck with their mental health?

If you've ever been warned or banned by a site and take your job seriously that fear NEVER EVER goes away that someone can just take it all away because of their willfulness to disobey.

My husband and I have a tipping only account that we use. It seems like it is near daily we have DMs that come in while we are offline. 2-6 AM Eastern USA time seems to be when it happens the most. We just put the model on ignore. Looked at the ones today and it seems they are coming from studios in old Soviet block countries.

Just reviewing all those unwanted DMs, and noted that in only one case has the same account messaged me more than once.
So in my case, while using the 'ignore' function might stop repeat messages, it won't stop 99% of them coming through for the first occasion.
Also interested to see that prior to August 19th, every incoming message shows that I cannot send a reply unless I'm a supporter, fan club member, or moderator. Since August 19th, that restriction isn't there.
Maybe these newer messages are bots trying to interact initially through chat, and the older ones were model accounts trying to drive traffic straight to the room.
