Hello, new model here.

I'm curious about mycamgirl.net. I was somewhat shocked to find all the very detailed information they have on my MFC activity.

Based on what I see, I assume that MFC has some cooperative relationship with mycamgirl.net? ie they're allowing them access to their internal data?? Or is there such a hole in MFC's interface, that anyone can gain access to things like, when my private sessions begin and end, etc??

What is MFC's benefit in allowing this? if they in fact are? (driving traffic to their site or something?) Is there a way to opt out of providing that information??

I think it is all public information, but the person who takes care of the site is a member here. Their username is MyCamgirl. Seems like anything driving traffic would be good for MFC.

I guess I just find it a little disturbing that there's a minute by minute log of everything I'm doing on MFC.

This information is obviously obtained with the cooperation of MFC (I guess mycamgirl can verify this) ... it would be nice if one could opt out of sharing some of this information.

No offense, I'm sure it's a very popular website... but I don't like it.

I like mycamgirl.net, without it I would not be able to tell how many members I had in my room during a group show, and similar things like that. Seeing my records and the records of other models is also interesting. (The system isn't completely reliable, though... http://i.imgur.com/xXFao.png)
But the guy who runs the website is very helpful and understanding. If you decide that you want to have your profile removed from mycamgirl.net, I'm sure he'll do it for you.

No, I don't have any relationship with MyFreeCams. They don't help me nor pay me anything to keep those records. No holes or anything. The data presented there is the same public data that anyone can access on MFC.

Is there a way to opt out of providing that information??

Yes. Send me a model verification (please, do NOT send copies of your documents) and I can hide some data, block a country/state or make the whole page unavailable. If you get a model status here on the forum, you don't need to email me a verification picture. Just PM me what you want to do with your stats.

If you still want to access your stats, but block everybody else from accessing it, you will need to create a profile on MyCamgirl.

More is explained in the notes.

It was probably caused by a MFC crash or a hiccup on my server. I'm reviewing the whole code anyway.

If you get past the initial shock of finding such detailed info about yourself that you didn't know about, it's really quite helpful! If you are really uncomfortable with people being able to see this data at least keep it available to yourself like MCG suggested.
I love have my hours worked easily accessible with my cam score graph so I can compare the two and manage myself a little better.

I know right? If she's weirded out by a site that is able to access public info does she just not use facebook/google for anything ever? I'd say that the rights those companies have over your information is a lot more shocking than this.

It works fine on my iPhone. It loads the same way it loads on desktop, no redirects or different css, because I haven't done a mobile version yet. Can you open it on desktop? Do you use the same ISP/connection on desktop and iPhone? PM me if you want to go through a troubleshooting to find out what is wrong.

It's only since I updated to the latest IOS on my phone. It works fine on my PC, not a big disaster, just figured you would want to know. Right now I am just on my home network and it's not working and yesterday I was out on mobile Internet and it was the same. Night just be my phone, but it worked fine and dandy before I updated to the new iPhone software.

Welcome to the world of webcam modeling Katrina, lol.

If I(*) go to the main page, where it shows all online models, and you show up there "in private", I know you are busy in private. If in the next minute that I check the list of online models you are still in private, I can assume that you are in private for at least 1 minute. And every minute I add 1 minute until I see your status has changed. The same for all the possible status (free chat, private, group and away) and camscore too. The Miss MFC graph and the group viewers work in a different way, but all from public pages.

(*) When I say "I", I mean a computer does the job.

About 3 years ago I asked MFC if they had a tool so I could get the list of online models (most of the camsites have) and they answered with the usual short form: No. So, you can see that MFC does not help me and they have no intention to do so.

Unlike other sites, MFC does not have a public affiliate program. The people that get invited to the program only have a URL with a code to track referrals, just like the "Bring a Friend". They don't get special tools or access to any info about models. As far as I know, there is only a marketing company that has a partnership with MFC and that has permission to use some material for advertising purposes, already discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6003 But even those guys, they don't have access to any private info.

That's not necessary. How many visitors are in a room, as well as the topic and whether basics and guests are muted, can now be gotten from the main page for all online models.

A model holding up a piece of paper saying "MCG, u do changes for me now plz" seems like a lot less work that what other verification processes could take.

My guess is he could do that but getting the picture covers his ass more thoroughly. (As in, he can keep it on file and no one can say their email was hacked)

I don't want anyone saying that there are fake profiles. The verification picture is there to prove that the profile is 100% real and that if you see a comment posted by that person, you can be sure it was posted by the same model you see on cam.

If she just wants to change something, but there won't be any profile tied to her stats page, she can just email me the verification picture and tell me what she wants. And, as I said before, if she has a model status here, she can send me a PM. There is no reason to verify a model twice. I accept Amber as a "certificate authority".

Removing statistics is the same as changing something on the page. In this case, changing the whole page. So, yes. A verification is needed.

I think it's funny that some people don't realize how twisted some non-models (who are involved in the cam world) can be. Posing as models just to get certain priveledges happens constantly. It's not a mystery why he needs this, and it's really silly to think he asks for verification pics (usually a face and a sign) for his own personal sexual enjoyment.
