PayPal help!

I sold a guy eleven videos for $40 about 3 weeks ago. He paid via PayPal. I sent him the links right after I received payment, he downloaded them to his phone.
I just logged on today and my PayPal was $40 in the negative because he disputed the charge! Anyone dealt with this before? Any advice?

Yikes, my advice would be to cut your losses and stop using PayPal for adult transactions.

Agreed, there's a lot of threads on ACF talking about this very thing and why PP and others are not good for business. Some as recent as just a few days ago.

Getindiebill is worth checking out. Adult friendly, covers charge backs, pays out 85%. I know a few people had issues with late payments but I’ve not personally had any problems with them.

Is it a service that does more than simply processing payment? Taking a 15% cut strikes me as exorbitant.

For something geared towards the adult industry and covers charge backs that’s the best your going to get.

It’s set up as a payment processor but you can upload video and set up payments for skype shows and a few other things. It’s is not set up to just browse for models, you’ll need a direct link. Here’s mine https://www.getindiebill.com/store/list/ElaySmith

I'm a little surprised at that. However, those are physical items and not "services" so to speak (trying to avoid the whole digital delivery of content argument)

Its easier to do a chargeback with digital content. Thats why.

Yep, as seen here. The other part is that I believe they don't want to be involved with anything that may be interpreted as illegal activities or human trafficking.

Yes, physical items like that are a little different but anything digital is a big NO. The best thing you can do is not use them at all bc they do not like sex workers even if you are following the rules.

I only use PayPal rarely, and it's most for purchases where I don't want to do CC numbers all over the place. One of my CC's has the ability to do digital numbers. I'll probably go that route now.

On Chaturbate you can buy tokens using Paypal, not sure of any other site.
If you're a member on CB, go to the "Get More" link and you will see it right there in the options.

It's not directly through PayPal. It's through epoch or something, can't remember the name. So like a 3rd party provider.

Could it be that people are using a physical paypal card? I have one. I imagine I could use it on a camsite the same as any other plastic. I'm not sure if it would show up as being paid by pp or not.

There are only a few US based merchants who can use it as a payment gateway, and Epoch are their extension.
I’ve only heard of rare cases in which contractors got paid through it, and the senders were not personal, they were companies like Brazzers and Naughty America.

Kinkbomb pay out through paypal and so do piggybankgirls but i've heard of ladies losing their paypal because of it .
I would procede with caution.

For payout, I'm under the impression that it gets a pass since it's payroll vs someone buying adult products or services. I've still always avoided being paid that way. I don't trust that it won't get me shut down somehow for being associated with adult services, and I rely on my PayPal account for other business I do.

I just ate the $40 (and the $20 chargeback PayPal took ) and I’ll close that PayPal. It was a sock PayPal for cam anyway, I’d send the funds to my real PayPal and transfer to my bank from there. I’ll check out indiebill instead. Thanks ladies, it’s been super informative! Lesson learned

I've used PayPal to buy tokens on MFC for years, I'm lazy and don't want to type in my card info.

I've also been paid via PayPal by Pornhub, xvideos, and piggybankgirls. The last two no longer offer PayPal, though. I can't get wire transfers because my little local bank, which is wonderful for everything else, doesn't have a Swift code. And Paxum recently stopped offering payouts to US residents. So I'm currently unable to get paid at all by xvideos, and I can get paid by piggybankgirls, but only in Amazon gift cards

I wonder if marking a payment as a gift or to a family member on PayPal eliminates the possibility of the sender later disputing a payment and requesting a refund. I've been asked by a few sellers to do that, but I don't know if that's only so they don't have to pay the fees or because there are other benefits to them for doing it that way.

Its really just best not to use them at all period. When- and yes I say when- you get shut down they will not only close the cam account they will close any accounts tied to it and keep your money. There are plenty of other options to use if this is your job. No reason to use a service that frowns upon the type of work you do.

I think most models use it because of lack of alternatives (I guess there are many payment processors for within the U.S., but less so for international payments), it's easy to use (until they get reported and banned) and because a lot of people already have PayPal accounts because of eBay and insist on using that as a payment method. For models who can't afford to be too choosy with customers, it's either accept PayPal or lose business. I've never been asked to pay with PayPal by a U.S. based cam girl.

There was a payment processor one model asked me to use that only accepted U.S. billing addresses, for example. I believe the issue was that the payment processor only accepted a U.S. zip code with 5 numeric digits and I live in Canada where postal codes are 6 digits and contain both numbers and letters, so I couldn't enter my billing address. I don't remember what it was called, but I've heard of it before, so it must be popular. I guess it works for most of her customers who are from the States, but I couldn't use it.

I don't like to use PayPal, but if I want to do business with a model bad enough and it's the only option she gives me (or if other options would require me to create a new account and enter my credit card info on a site I may only use once) then I would probably go with PayPal. I never *ask* to pay with PayPal and I don't think I've ever paid for a cam show using PayPal. I prefer to pay using methods that don't require me to reveal my real name, for privacy reasons, so usually I buy custom videos through websites (MGF, Skyprivate, cam sites, etc.).
