Carey > Peart
See that's the thing though, both greats in their own rights. Peart was a lot more technical and music theory oriented than your average drummer or your greatest. Tommy Lee likes to twirl in the air and people call him a great drummer for it, I think it's theatrics and well actually kind of boring. Keep the kit on the ground and let's see those arms move bucko. :D

I’m gonna pile on the point about rock rooms being awesome.

Everyone has the right to their own tastes, but a room with a fun model with rock music playing (including its many subgenres) is more often than not where I’ll spend my tokens.
If someone wants to listen Muzac, they can mute my room and substitute their own narration. It's not like I talk anyway.

dude i play mongolian throat singing/rap and folkrtronica when i was actively streaming on cam, along with classic rock, hip hop and country. im all over the place when it comes to music genre. i need NOISE.

my music depends on how im feeling and evokes excitement. if users want certain music to play, they are more than welcome to mute me or go elsewhere. i'm not a dj station.

so many things i think are nonsense and some i absolute don't agree.
and the worst (for me)

music of the generation that got the most money and it keeps you awake and active
Yep, same. If you want a room full of Boomers sure, but I like dealing with other millenials (my own generation), and that music goes down just fine for them.
🤦‍♀️

I've been live camming part time for 12 years (clips the other part), and am a first page model (and have been most of that time) on my main site. This advice was a lot of, primarily, subjective hogwash. Don't be a foolette and listen to it.

There's a reason there's a dead zone during the day, when all the retired Boomers are available, after all the younger, working age men are off to work 😆

It's such a hard no to give advice in any field that you haven't ever worked in yourself, but even moreso sex work, when the shows can be so subjective, personal, and at times intimate. Jesus Christ, I'd be so embarrassed to make a thread like this!

I militantly and quickly remind my room to tip, and people, for the most part, don't waste my time with a lot of the endless bullshit I see them trying on other models. Men who are actually there to jerk off, and leave have no problems with tips being brought up. Parasocial guys who wannabe your boyfriend, do tend to take issue with it. It's up to you what demographic you want to cater to, but I like doing porn to make the highest amount of money in the shortest possible amount of time. Most people don't get into porn to work overtime. That's what conventional jobs are for.

I've survived and thrived 12 years doing things this way. And I'm bluntly honest, so... yeah. Any new cam models reading this thread, don't take generic cookie-cutter advice, run your room how makes YOU comfortable, and the right kind of members for YOU, will come. The fastest road to burn out is running things the way someone else tells you to. We all have our own individual sexuality, and normal, healthy men want to see you having genuine fun and being relaxed.

Added note: make no bones about it, guys who don't want to be reminded to tip have ego issues, they don't want to be reminded they are paying for something, they look down on others for paying for. Dealing with people who have a lot of shame connected to their sexuality is a) no fun, b) a fast road to burnout. Dealing with healthy, open people is so much more refreshing. Ego problem guys suuuuuuuuck 👎 and they will suck you dry of energy too!

This post is so well put. 10/10

Love @MarieElise

I do not identify as millennial, regardless of their new breakdown of generations. I'm the last part of GenX because of the age difference between my siblings and I. If we were closer in age, I would probably claim xennial. I want GenX guys. Alllllll day long. :)

Xennial for sure. Those of us on the edge of both gen x and millennial are in this group, and should honestly be our own generation as things were so drastically different between the two! Just scroll through the subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Xennials/ and realize everything is relevant :D

You or me? My sisters are 10 and 14 years older than I am and my husband is 16 years older than me. It's supposed to be about influence right?

I've based it on being born between 1977-1983

Got it. :) I'm still on the original 1965-1981
I used to go with gen x for this, but SOO MANY people argue that past 1980 is 100% millennial, and I disagree lol. (Otherwise I'm with you BTW)

The people born in the end of the 70s and the first 2 years of 80s have such a different experience than those born later, I feel they aren't properly categorized with "Millennials" in the grander scheme of things. I think it's about what was going on in the world in your years when you were starting to get impressionable.

A generational gray area for sure. I guess you can just pick whichever you can relate to best.
True. Since Xennial is a "made up term" I also claim Gen X along with @Vixxen81 since I existed so long before the "Internet" era really kicked in full fledged.

I’m Gen X, but toward the latter part. Old enough to fully remember how we lived before everyone got online, but I was still young enough when the internet era arrived that I was able to easily embrace it.

I’m guessing I’d barely miss the Xennial cutoff due to that (which I’m fine with… I’ve always been kind of proud to be GenX).

Ok thanks, I'm one of those too then. Whoops, you guys know I can be a bit fuzzy on the specifics sometimes.

What I meant was people my own generation (which prior to today, I thought was Millennial) are the coolest. Easiest for me to deal with and understand.

The older generations past that, are too rigid and weird/ unable to handle anything that is in any way ambiguous and not strictly in a set, defined category. The younger generation, although I love them and care deeply about the state we are leaving them as far as jobs society etc, can be a bit closed sometimes too. However, I cut them way more slack than I do the older generation, because look what they're working with rn. No wonder they're stressed! The older generation had way more economic opportunities, and yet a lot of them continued to make selfish and stupid decisions.

I've always understood that your generation is based on the societal influences when you came of age, ie late teens early 20's. Gen-Xers came of age in the late 80'a early 90's when MTV still played music and video arcades were a new thing. Anyone born in the 80'a didn't come of age in the 80's, they would have come of age around the turn of the millennium, hence the term Millennials.

Always a subject with a lot of different definitions and opinions :)

in addition to my siblings being much older than me as part of my GenX identity, I think being a latchkey kid is a defining part of it as well.

Call mom at work the second I got in the door, don't answer the phone unless it's the special ring, stay away from doors and windows (yay stranger danger!).

Take that night's protein out to thaw for dinner before mom gets home. Do some homework, watch MTV or Animaniacs.
