Yep, it's that time of the year again, there are some pretty good deals as usual. Post if you get anything, or discuss the games, etc. Some good Day 1 sales at the moment, such as Borderlands GOTY ed for $5, Oblivion GOTY for 6.80, and others. Right now I just bought Dawn of War 2: Retribution , which I've been waiting to go on sale for a while. So, anyone else buying anything?

Really thinking about buying Beat Hazzard for $5. Gotta love games that you can play to your own music collection. :-D

I'll probably buy the "Victorian" Killing Floor character pack if the summer event update ever releases today.

I'd totally get Witcher 2 at 33% off if I hadn't bought it the day it came out.

Also, holy crap this is good value http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8668/ 83% off, THQ Hit Pack includes 14 games for $49.95, and they all pretty damn good and pretty recent. All the company of heroes and dow2 games are brilliant.

Recettear* is friggin awesome. You will be addicted. A must for fans of old school JRPGs.

Borderlands* is just plain amazing. Sure it's a bit straight forward with the characters (in an era where most games give you full customization) but it's still pretty fun. If you get 3 of your friends to join you it's even better.

THQ Hit Collection (not complete collection) well worth it for Homefront not to mention the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War II games are a requirement for RTS fans.

id Super Pack. If you know id software you know why you need this. If you don't know them: Quake, Doom, Wolfenstein. If that doesn't have you buying it you're obviously oblivious to where FPS games all started.

*Daily sale, ends at 1pm EST

Today:
Shogun 2: I played Shogun and the other Total War games are pretty awesome. So I can assume this will be pretty cool.
Dungeons: Pretty cool game. You run the dungeon and keep the heroes away from the treasure.
KoToR: Good RPG. If you're a Star Wars fan or an RPG fan, pick it up.
Force Unleashed II: Pretty good, but short.

Here's yesterdays, good until something like 1pm EST
Magicka: Get it. It's awesome. It's hilarious. Play it. Now.
Plants vs Zombies: Fun game. Sort of a twist on the Tower Defense genre.
Fable 3: A great game. I would mostly recommend it if you're played and enjoyed Fable 2. Similar to Fable 1, but still quite a bit different.
Alien v Predator: Very fun FPS. I loved it. It seems most people on Steam don't even complete the game. Each of the 3 campaigns plays pretty differently. Marines have a survival horror, Aliens have stealth and Predators are a little bit of everything.
Bad Company 2: Fun modern FPS. Pretty standard, nothing too fancy except for the destructible terrain. Which is important to know when you're hiding from a tank and it sayd "fuck it" and just levels the building you're hiding in.

Steam isn't showing me games I already own when I look at them in the store right now, which is totally pissing me off, but oh well.

7/3 Steam Sale
Transformers: I heard really good things. I'm buying it right now.
Sniper: Haven't played myself, but when this came out I had a friend I thought this was perfect for. He bought it and played it. Right after learning sniping, you get involved in some melee fighting and it was really off putting to him.
Ass Bro: I'm buying this too. I enjoy Assassins Creed and this one is really good according to my buddy. Franchise sale.
Torchlight: Awesome Diablo-esque game. I think it's actually by the team that originally did Diablo for Blizzard.
Dragon Age 1 and 2 are both fun, pretty good RPGs.
Tropico 3 is a fun sim city like game where you are in charge of a small island nation. Think about ruling cuba and a simcity game based on that.

hahaha Ass Bro...I was like WTF is Ass Bro!?

Then read the description - yeah it is worth getting for sure.

I'm annoyed I bought fable 3 by digital download less than a week ago for full price.

Homefront is an awesome and fun FPS with a great multiplayer. It's how I kicked MW2.
Fallout New Vegas is a must RPG for anyone without it already.
Ruse is an interesting strat game. Play the demo.

Glad I didn't jump the gun on Beat Hazard, because it went on sale for $2.49 today along with the Ultra add on for $1.24. It was lame that I had to pay to play non DRM music but at least that was on sale for 25 cents. In total, it was only $3.98 for everything, so I'm happy. :-D

If you're tired of games like Cock Band and G@ytar Hero making you play to music you don't like, I'd suggest picking this all up. The game lets you play to your music on your HD, it also comes with some pretty good music from independent artists. As for the game itself, think of it like Asteroids but with your own soundtrack and much more intense.

Here's a demonstration:

Beat Hazard

On one hand, it does look neat-o for a time waster. I used to love asteroids-type games.

On the other hand, I feel a seizure coming on just from watching the demo. I'm not sure what would happen if I actually played.

Picks of the Day:
Civ V- much easier to get into than the old games. Demo first.
Deus Ex- Early morality RPG/FPS hybrid. This is basically what all games are starting to try and be like. Very fun too.
Monday Night Combat- Did they put gay hats in this one too? I don't know but it's fun. I like it better than TF2 personally. Of course I never play it though because I'm always playing something different.

Deus Ex was great, 3rd game in the series finally coming out in just a few weeks

Ah, didn't see Killing Floor on there. I do have it. It's fun.
Sims 3 is also good if that's your kind of thing.

So far, besidses DOW I've picked up - Dragon Age Ultimate, and Audiosurf just now, which I've been meaning to pick up for a while. I"m tempted to gift a few audiosurf games to people on my friends list as well, it's so cheap that I feel like being in the giving mood.

Company of Heroes: Like Dawn of War only in WWII. Awesome game, my buddies and I LAN it a lot.
Dead Rising 2: Fun game. $20 might be about the right price for it.
Wait...
Audiosurf for $1.49? Are you freaking kidding me? Buy this now or rot in hell.

I don't know myself. I don't use iTunes. From what I've read, M4A works, not M4P. If it doesn't work you can burn them to a disc (or virtual disc) and then rip them back to your hard drive. But if your songs are M4As then it will work.

I'm thinking about audiosurf but I haven't been on steam in ages and the client is being a bitch :(

I bought Audiosurf, then on an impulse while I was there bought Empire & Napoleon Total War, mere hours before it would go into the summer sale (today).

It didn't even have time to download before it went on sale at 66% off..

:obscene-hanged:

for strategy fans I highly, highly recommend Napoleon + Empire Total War pack that's on sale for like $17 or something today - I spent months last year playing my brothers copies of those, and the developers have finally just now released modding tools for them so can expect lots of mods soon - total war has a huge modding community.

Sam and Max is EPIC. I love it. I have seasons 1 and 2 on Wii.
Duke Nukem Forever for 50% off? Yes please. I already own it though.
Neverwinter Nights 2- Great dungeons and dragons game.
Dead Space 2 is fun. I haven't been able to play too far into it because of some driver issues.

Let me just add that X3: Terran Conflict (on sale for $4.99) is one of the BEST video games I've ever played. It's like Elite on steroids. Space trading, piracy, pirate-hunting...whatever...in an enormous sandbox universe. You can buy and build your own space stations, hell you can fill entire solar systems with space stations that you, your trading fleet, and npcs will buy and sell from.

You can pilot everything from enormous freighters to nimble interceptors to destroyers and carriers. You can even board and capture enemy capital ships.

Oh and the modding community is HUGE, there are literally hundreds if not thousands of mods. This game has a massive cult following of people who've been playing non-stop, and modding it for years and the developers work really closely with the community. In fact, the developer Egosoft hired a whole team of community modders on their previous game to help build this one.

This is a game with HUGE depth and intricacy - I can't stress this enough - at $4.99 don't miss out.

Lol here's me doing an inverted barrel roll (from top gun) over a pirate, with guns blazing before I take him out.
