Anyone braved the lines yet to see "Man of Steel." I'll go but generally wait a week or two to let the crowds thin out. Reviews have been all over the place, so I'd certainly be interested in hearing any reactions for this learned group.

I'm hoping to see it tonight..but...man, I don't know.
They gave it the 'batman' treatment, making it dark and gritty..but that's not superman. I want to see it (and like it) but I've been hurt by so many superman movies in the past (yeah, I'm looking at you Superman Returns...).

I was so excited for this movie, and I really did not like it at all.
They warped his origin story, the pacing was really bad and honestly the script just seemed like a mess. I am a huge Lois Lane fan, and she had absolutely no personality or character. All of her original sass and presence was gone, which I thought was partly due to bad casting (I love Amy Adams but omg not for this) and partly due to bad writing.
Henry Cavill was a really great Superman, though, and I really liked General Zod. Diane Lane was also great, and even Russell Crowe who I normally hate. Some of the cinematography was good.
Overall I'm super bummed because I was waiting for ages for this, and I love Superman, but this was just no good. It wasn't fun, which is fine because not everything needs to be, but it also wasn't edgy and exciting and gritty like I think they wanted. I agree with DaddyDominant that dark and gritty doesn't really vibe with Superman (although I thought Superman Returns was better than this...so that might say a lot, lol).
