As for analogies about cam-viewers. Ok, I can see your point about the restaurant and theater analogies not working because there is physically not enough space for unlimited viewers. I can also see your point about the theater being a 'pay-to-enter' venue. But your analogy of a park doesn't really work either, cause police will kick you out or arrest you for loitering.

Let's try this one on for size: Say there's somewhere that does charge an entrance fee (like an upscale museum gala), but every ticket-buyer gets to bring a "plus-one." Not every ticket buyer will be bringing a Plus-One. Basics and non-tipping members are like the guys who stand on the corner and ask every person entering the museum if they've got an extra ticket. Essentially saying, "Come on, man, you've already paid! You're not even gonna use that extra ticket! Just let me tag along!" Of course, it won't matter to the museum whether you go in or not because they've already made their money, but the ticket-buyer is going to resent you. Why should you get to go in for free when he had to spend $XXX amount to do so? If it became obvious that half of the people who got in were just random people off the street begging for tickets, most of the ticket-buyers would stop going. The museum would either have to lower the price of tickets or stop allowing Plus-Ones so that the purchasers feel like it's an exclusive club again. Definition #2 is the best description for people in these scenarios. If you notice, the term "bum" is also used in other ways, almost all with negative undertones. No one likes covering for someone else's ass when they're so disrespectful that they don't even appreciate it anyway.

I just don't get it. There is a ton of free porn out there. And there are plenty of dating websites and other places where you can talk to girls for free. Cam sites are places that exist ONLY because cam models are paid by members to entertain and perform. Why do you expect cute girls to sit around in their underwear on the internet and entertain you for free? Why do you expect other people to pay the model so that you can have a free show? I find the entitlement confusing.
While reading through this tread and reading a lot of great replies from many girls. This post summed it all up for me.

I vacillated on posting in this thread for a while, but as soon as I saw the quoted sentiments put out there, I had to verify that the statements in bold are very real feelings that some tipping members have. I've definitely grown to have them over the years.

I have been the one to carry a room from time to time, and so this comes from personal experience. I always want to help out my favorite model, and let her know how much I appreciate her and her time, but there comes a point that the feeling of giving a free show to a bunch of ungrateful freeloading members becomes incredibly infuriating. It can be a hard feeling to shake. Which honestly can lead to a sort of member burn out (which I'd never considered possible in my early days hanging out on MFC)

I have considered just doing privates/true privates (or tipping more offline) with my favorite model instead of publicly contributing, but there really isn't anything quite like the a rush at seeing a models instant reaction to a tip. In light of that I will say that the new -h and -s ("hidden" and "silent" respectively) tip commands have done wonders for me as a tipper. Even though "hidden" tip amounts can be figured out since they are taken from the count it makes them less obvious. I do have to add that finding creative tipping methods can be a fun, and great way to flirt with a model. I think that that whole idea is lost on a lot of members (I will not divulge my sneaky tipping methods :p )

I really appreciate @AmberCutie and @I_Am_Iris for putting this out there. It personally makes me feel good that these types of things that affect tipping members are remembered :)

When 100 people chip in, there aren't just 1 or 2 people who feel they have carried the room the whole time. Sure, if only 2 people pay the girl's goal, she still makes it, but those couple of people may feel bitter and not return much if at all. So the cam girl has that weight on her mind.

P.S. Freeloading members who use the "applause" emote after someone has tipped...just stop. Its fucking ridiculous.

Absolutely. Not only are they remembered, but I seriously stress about this on many days. I have even apologized (and thanked) in PM to some of my most generous members when it seems they've been the only reason I've hit any goals that day.

All very true. I had one of my regs/HT start tipping Ninja for more than half his tips and would say not to count it towards the count. He would have rather me made my money and logged off with no show then do the show for freeloaders. I would venture to say that most regs do not care as much about the show as they do about just spending the night hanging and chatting. When it's usually the opposite for the freeloaders.

My reg doing this routinely tipped 50% if the countdown. If not more. Once he got creative with his tipping it forced other people to start tipping. And honestly I think my room attracted LESS freeloaders after that.

I think this is a great point!!! I def feel guys sit on their hands knowing the models top tippers are in the room and will make the goals. The attitude being "let some other moron tip, I'll watch for free"

This may not be the best place for this question, but based on CrazyCatLady & Hapa's comments, I'm wondering if other models have had 'success' (getting other members to tip) with her regulars tipping ninja? My regular model friends are a little bit down on camscore compared to the more popular models and so I often find myself being the sole tipper in a room. I normally try to space out my tipping, thinking that if other members see some of the flashes/dances/fun times from the tips they'll be inspired to tip as well. But if the ninja tips work better then I'd consider switching to that. Mostly just want my favorites to do well, so I want to tip in the way most conducive to getting others involved.

I know this is a total tangent, but this thread is a shit show, anyway. That image has always bothered me when used with that line. That is the image that goes with the line, "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." I know you didn't make it, and it's the common meme, but dang it, this should be the image/line pairing!

Anyway, carry on.
DUDE! I couldn't find that one quickly but YES! It was actually bothering me too!

I would suggest maybe letting everyone in the room know you will match their tip till goal is met, so if goal is 400 to remove bra you are committing to tip up to 200. Put a 10 minute timer on it so there is an incentive for them to tip quickly.

I wanted to add that pretty much the only time I bail on a countdown is when the room has made it apparent that they are all expecting one or two people to finish the entire goal, and it's going to leave everyone sour if we continue.
Group effort is hands down the most important thing on MFC IMO. If my biggest tip ever got beat but literally no one else topped the whole night, it would not feel good. If I made less than my highest tip total but it came from many different people, that would be a successful and fun for all night!

The only reason I would suggest against this is because it's very likely no one will take you up, and both you and the model could be even more hurt and frustrated by that.
I do this often when I'm tipping other models and I'm always amazed how rarely I see members use the tactic because it works!
Tip with a public note that says "let's make a yellow wall fellas?" Or something along those lines. Blatantly asking nicely in the tip note for members to join you in creating a yellow wall is hands down the best way to encourage tippers.
I have never once had it fail. Subtle hints are never going to work in a room that's already missing the mark that day, you just GOTTA be polite and MUST lead by example.

Yep this is another incentive I did with my top tipper. He would say "Matching all tips up to xxxx for the next 3 minutes".

I agree. My best nights are always when I I have a ton of tippers and talkers. There have been nights I made twice as much but logged off upset...because it all came from a couple people.

I think it's bad enough when MFC members get so used to the same person(s) doing all the tipping, but when they start saying things out loud like "Slow night, huh? We need ________. Why isn't he here?" (they're referring to the top tipper). Like wtf, dude...you're seriously gonna sit there and admit that you rely on some other man's tokens for you to see some tits and ass?

For a while now, I've been going to the same bar once a week for karaoke night. But when I don't want to spend any money at all, you know what I do? I keep my ass home (just skip karaoke night that week) and have a TV Land marathon. I'll go back there some other time when I'm ready to spend again. I wouldn't feel right going to a bar...occupying a seat...interacting with bartenders...and not even spend a dime. And I imagine that a person who does that regularly would get talked about and remembered as a freeloader.

It never really occurred to me to try asking someone else if they wanted to take part in a yellow wall, being a bit shy (I usually just ask members to "let me know if you have any ideas on how to make the model's day") , but I suggested it a week or so ago with a cool member and it was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had tipping since I've been on MFC (I think for us and maybe even the model). So yeah, group effort is not only important, but it is fun too. :)

Aww man this made me so happy to read! I'm glad to hear that worked out!
Leading by example and asking politely almost never fails but often if you don't ask, people may not realize you're trying to encourage participation when tipping in smaller amounts repeatedly.

I agree with @NerdieBirdie that it sucks to see the same names in your room day after day not tipping. Right now I'm running a deal on CB until the end of March for grays who buy tokens and tip me. After that, I'm banning the ones who visit my room regularly who didn't take me up on the deal. I figure a month is more than enough time to decide if they enjoy my room enough to spend tokens. I also ban members with tokens who regularly lurk in my room and never talk or tip. I know some members are shy and just don't like to talk in public chat, but I give them a chance by PMing them and saying hi first, and I ban if my PM is ignored. I figure if you enjoy my room enough to visit on a regular basis, then you can tip 5 or 10 tokens every now and then. Some people may argue that this is bad business practice and the ones who don't tip or talk aren't hurting anybody, but it's my room and it bothers me seeing the same non-tippers in my room on a regular basis, and ultimately I have to do what makes me feel good when I'm camming. :)

So what do the mfc models make the of the new 'kick' feature that has apparently been added?

So I saw models talking about this but have no idea what it is? I don't see anything different and there is no news regarding it in my model news feed? Am I missing something?

Edit: And I just checked the MFC official Twitter, and no announcement of any new additions of features. Is this something only top models are getting? What is it even? Lol I literally know nothing about it or can find info on whatever it is.

Edit edit: Looking up "MyFreeCams kick feature" for relevant posts on Twitter also yields no response. I am either the dumbest person ever or you're all pranking me lol.

There wasn't an announcement about it as far as I know, but it was just added on Tuesday.

It kicks the member to the homepage with a little notice saying "You've been kicked from NerdieBirdie's room". Then they can just turn around and come back in if they want.

I imagine girls have been asking for this to be on par with other sites that offer the feature. It is less serious than a ban or ignore, but enough to let a person know they're on thin ice, I think.

Twitter posts indicate happiness with the feature.

A model or room helper can kick anyone except the model out of the room, after being kicked they can come back to the room immediately.

Another new feature is support TopFriends and for Recent Tippers which can now appear at the top of the member list.

Would I be seeing this in the same place I go to ignore/ban? If so, I don't think its enabled for me yet because I definitely banned during my cam session this morning and "kick" wasn't there.

It would be in the little drop down menu when you click on a member, with a red flag icon next to it. I used it last night, so unless they removed it since then it should be there, but only if the person is in your room.

Pinknerds, I'm not a model, so I don't have to be super sweet or sugar coat this. You are in her room, by mailing her you are taking up her time, she's at work, therefore time=money. The reason why you can't tip isn't as important as that you are not tipping, and frankly freeloading with an excuse is the part that's "messed up." If you owned a bar and a person came in and sat at your bar and ordered complimentary water, day after day, and demanded as much attention as actual whiskey drinking patrons, wouldn't you kick them out eventually?

Your analogy is claptrap. It is, demonstrably, wrong. There are no parallels with going into a bar and ordering water.

For starters, there is no limit on space (unlike a bar), there's absolutely no service involved either (unlike serving water, washing the glass, cleaning the counter etc), and nor was any attention being demanded (unlike your false analogy upon ordering water). Additionally, if it's a certain website beginning with M, F and C - then it's part and parcel of their entire marketing and money making methodology; there is no requirement to tip whatsoever, indeed the wiki itself outlines tips are gifts - sometimes given for small requests or just because members want to be nice :)

However, having said that I'm not saying the original poster has any right to complain. Just that your analogy is awful. Models can do what they like within reason - so banning people is part and parcel of that.

So why not just do the right thing and make a good suggestion:
1) Don't go in that room anymore.
2) If you do want to go in that room, then tip. Or expect to be banned again.
3) If you've no intention of interacting (talking/tipping), then go watch from the lounge.

Too much drama, not enough llama.

I know this thread got sort of long and you may not have made it far enough to see, but we kind of resolved that, in a sense. My fault for not locking it already.
As much as MFC is like a restaurant and a park and a movie theatre, it's mostly like a cam site. A very specific cam site that derives most of its traffic from its advertising, which promotes the idea that members are free to watch cam girls all day and all night without paying a penny. As annoying as it may be for models, if a member wants to watch free shows all day, he can. In fact, that's specifically what MFC's marketing told him to do. And without that marketing, MFC's traffic, and thus the amount of money being spent on MFC models would be a fraction of what it is today.

The flipside of that coin (token?) is that MFC models have the luxury of running their room any way they please. They have the right to ban any member for any reason at any time. If a member isn't tipping them, they have no obligation to let that member watch them for another second.

This seems like a pretty fair trade to me. If you're a model and you want to ban a basic or even a premium because they've never tipped, you can. Just be mindful that they're technically doing nothing wrong and are a consequence of MFC's traffic being as high as it is, which benefits you directly. If you're a member and want to watch free shows all day, you can. Just be mindful that no model is obligated to let you watch her for free and if every member shared your attitude, you'd be freeloading in an empty room right now, staring at a white screen, alone.

More an issue with reading a few and just going "oh gawd" and hitting reply, rather than paying attention to the 6 page part :D :D Whoops.

I do the same thing sometimes.

Something I noticed about this feature, little confusing to me.

Couple of tippers, their names lingered in black for several days (they are gone now) even though they weren't even in the room. Also, I tipped and got into the tipppers section, left the room for a couple minutes, came back and was no longer up there with the tippers. Wonder if just bugs they have worked out now, or what.

People who leave the room come off the list.

Not sure about the first issue you mention.
