Have you guys tried to use tik tok for traffic for more simps? It's a really powerful tool for the girls I manage, though I admit its not the easiest thing if you don't like to do it lol, what do you guys think? And how do you guys promote yourself off the cam sites?

Or are you just saying it's your specialty then coming here to leech free help off of us, so you can then go try to make money for yourself, off of others like us, with our free help (that we would have given other models freely)? I hope this isn't implying what I think it's implying: you're telling the women to do something they don't like to do because it gains them more traffic.

When I see guys online using the word "simp," they're either on Twitter, Reddit, or YouTube comments talkin' shit about the men who spend money on sex workers. They think it's sooo beneath them to "be paying for pussy" (That's how some of them word it), and they call these guys "simps." I bet they're not talking all that shit, though, when they're lurking our free chat (with no tokens) and benefitting off of that ass flash that someone else tipped for. Too busy sitting there breathing all heavy to be talkin' shit.....

Context matters: who is saying it and where they're saying it matters. I see the word used in my personal social life as well as professional; I can safely say it carries a very different tone when it's coming from the person who posted a pic/vid or the person responding to the pic/vid.. as opposed to calling someone a simp behind their back, or someone who's not involved calling someone a simp.

"Would you simp for me?" and similar lines have become a bit of a meme at this point, and doesn't sound so serious because it's been overused, especially if the audience you've attracted sees you meme often.
In my personal life, I say "I simp" or "simping hard" to compliment a friend whenever she posts a selfie and she does the same to me. So if a viewer says they're a simp for you, they're not seriously talking down on themselves, they're just memeing while complimenting you.. but it is an insult if someone else stepped in calling them a simp.

The context is different when it's someone posting on a models forum like this, asking for strategy info while referring to the viewers as "simps," out of sight from their core audience. I would be just as disgusted to see a model referring to their supporters as "simps" in models-only as I am seeing this random ""manager"" calling them that.

I was just confused about what exactly the word is supposed to mean, but it seems to have different meanings. With the one I'm seeing most of lately is the example I used in my previous post...used by disrespectful-ass men talking shit about the men who spend money on sex workers.

Aerie Saunders (Who I've started following on Twitter) is the model I was referring to in my previous post. I can tell that she's a really awesome person who cares for others, and her usage of the word in her tweet seemed more like in a "Adore me/worship me" sort of way.

It's just a weird word for me. It makes me think about the 1992 Boyz II Men song "Sympin' Ain't Easy" from their Cooleyhighharmony album. LOL. I don't think I could see myself using the word, simply because it has so many meanings...one of them being "a foolish or stupid person." If I wanted to tell a person I think they're foolish or stupid, I have plenty of other words I'd rather use instead of "simp." Lol.

I had always assumed that simp came from "simpering", not "simpleton", so I personally am dubious about the accuracy of the definition that says" foolish or stupid" (although I am aware that many feel that is the correct etymology of simp).

It seems to me that guys who are called simps are usually complimenting women (admittedly sometimes overly effusively), not being foolish or stupid. I see it used by guys to knock down or to try to appear "cooler than" other guys who are complimenting, or even merely just being polite to, women in online fora.

The upshot is that guys are dicks... guys in the presence of women; doubly so!

TikTok is mostly used by the tween/teen demographic. I do not use that for work promo because I do not want anyone underage seeing me in a provocative manner. I'm sure some models use it and don't have an issue but if something skeeves me out or in my opinion, is questionable, I don't want to utilize it. This isn't a hit at models on here who use it, it's just my opinion especially as I have kids who use TikTok when at my ex husband's house.

I agree. Until tiktok has some kind of safeguard against minors (like being able to list your account as 18+/sensitive/nsfw), I can't see myself joining even though I understand I'm missing out on self promotion.

A certain cycle has been created: more people are joining to promote their nsfw sites, so a certain kind of audience is joining to find more nsfw tiktokers. Even "tiktok porn" is a thing now (on adult sites).

It’s a derogatory term for a person that is super infatuated with someone else, to the point of heaping praise on them, spending money, always being extra nice etc.

It’s meant as an insult most of the time. The implication is that a simp is dumb or desperate. As opposed to just being very nice to someone they admire (imagine that).

Yeah it’s definitely not just a cam thing. I guess a simp is like a white knight who is content to be just an admirer and isn’t pretending to “save” or protect the person from anything. Not stepping on anyone else’s toes like a white knight does. Just infatuated.

In the way the OP used “simps,” it also implies that he’s targeting members that he thinks are the most ripe for exploitation. Suckers, in other words. Which adds a new layer of insult.
