I would need to read everything again to make sure, but as best I remember it was sites hosted in the UK/UK based buisnesses that would fall under and need to comply to these laws

Cam sites not based in the UK wouldn't be affected, and as best I know, Models would be free to work on them and members to visit them

Someone may comment and prove me wrong though

PS. Stuff like this only serves to harm legitimate companies and increase pirating

The digital economy bill, which will introduce new policies for Britain’s electronic communications infrastructure and services, was due for a report stage vote and third reading in the House of Commons last Monday, 28 Nov.
Although it is almost certain to pass the Commons with the backing of Labour and Conservative MPs. It will then be sent to The House of Lords where it will be discussed and amended.

Alistair Carmichael, the Lib Dems’ shadow first secretary of state, was expected to speak against the bill on Monday. A Lib Dem source said there was not much the party’s MPs could do to stop it, but their peers would try to amend it heavily. A better course of action would be to introduce sex and relationship education that addressed pornography, the source added.
There is also the question of whether the bill could break international law. David Banisar, the senior legal counsel at Article 19, a charity that campaigns for freedom of speech, said he expected that it would not survive a challenge at the European court of human rights.

Yes that seems to be correct, they would block sites in the UK that don't comply, I was mistaken

Who are the government to tell an adult they can't watch a consensual video of another adult peeing if that's what they're into

This along with the new online snooping laws where they will be monitoring everyone like we're criminals

I've read enough of Guy's posts to be able to say with some certainty he's not trolling. Jumped the gun a bit maybe, but definitely not trolling. The bill is still in its early stages but if it does go through un-amended then it might very well mean that cam sites will be illegal in the UK. We're not at that stage yet, and hopefully sense will prevail (or the politicians will try to save face once public condemnation reaches a level that is embarrassing for the government) and the censorship won't be as stringent as what's currently being outlined in the bill (that's all but certain to pass in some form), but what Guy (perhaps prematurely) mourns is something that could come to pass within the next year. If that seems unlikely, then maybe the British government's hard-on for an Orwellian surveillance state is being underestimated.

I am sure posting an alarming thread like this one basically giving your condolences to UK camgirls and making people panic with disinformation qualifies for a poop rating even if you did it out of carelessness.
