Would an ugly bathroom spoil a bath/shower show?

I live in literally the cheapest apartment I could find that wasn't infested with something.
The bathroom is not pretty. There's a taped over hole in the plastic wall behind my tub that's gotten kinda brown. I've asked my landlord time an time again to fix it. He seems to think it will be fine if he leaves it until we move out.
People are always asking me to do shower shows, especially after I do a lotion show and get all dirty. I'm just not comfortable showing my bathroom because it looks like I live in the ghetto.
So do you think I'm making too big a deal over an unpleasant background? Or should I wait until I someday have the good fortune to be able to afford a hotel?

I'd suggest covering the tape with paint...

If it's really bad, then yeah, it could ruin the show. But minor stuff won't be noticed because the focus will be on you!

Find out from your landlord how much you're able to change the apartment on your own. My landlord's policy is- as long as you put it back the way it was (repainting if necessary, filling in any holes made, etc), anything goes. If you are allowed to repaint the bathroom, do so! (shoot, you could even turn repainting it into a show)

I admit I have no useful tips except that I sure am glad you changed your avatar. The last one made you look like one of my friends from high school and every time I saw it I freaked out a bit o_o

I personally don't think an unattractive bathroom would ruin a show at all. It's all about the angles too. Maybe you could take your camera into the room and see if there's anyway you can not show it?

And I agree with Lady Luna, perhaps you should take it up on yourself to fix it or cover it if it's that nasty.

TBH, probably not. I'd try it.

It's not like my bathroom is the sexiest place in the whole world. Most of us probably don't exactly live in marble-clad mansions. I think that some of the appeal of watching camgirls, as opposed to budgeted, produced porn, is that we're real girls who have like, actual houses and stuff. So, I don't think your ghetto bathroom would necessarily ruin a show. I mean, if it looks like... unsanitary and scary like roaches might crawl out maybe that'd be a turn-off but if your bathroom is just like, whatever, sort of ghetto? Probably not a problem.

Could you put a towel over it or something?

I think the only way it'd actually mess up your show was if it bothered you enough that you acted differently because of it, otherwise I think you'd be fine.

It depends on how ugly is what you describe to be ugly. Is it closer to a ghetto, or a motel? The aesthetics of the bathroom shouldn't really play that much of a role - the guys are paying to watch you, not your bathroom.

If it's really bad, then yeah - it would pose a problem, because it'll be a distraction which takes away from the beauty of yourself. If you don't mind, a picture would help us give some more meaningful feedback.

I think it could definitely cause issues. I think it would depend on the types of people that tend to watch your shows. I've been in shows where an odd thing in the background gets mentioned by someone, others make comments about it and then the model herself breaks from the mood to address it too. It doesn't even have to be anything ugly or gross... Just distracting. My advice would be similar to others here. See if you can cover up anything majorly distracting by using either a quickie repair or something in front of it. If that doesn't work, try different angles to get it out of the picture if possible. A singular distraction is easier to take care of than if your bathroom looks particularly ratty. Oh, and before you fret too much about it, take a look at your bathroom through the member's interface. Some things that may seem an issue in person may not even show up as particularly prominent once your feed is compressed and distributed by MFC. Good luck!

the general consensus in my room is that my bathtub is more conducive to dismembering bodies than actually featuring sexy tub shows.

When my shower wasnt working I used a big tote or a small kiddie pool and did wet t-shirt in the middle of my living room.

YES it will affect how you are viewed btw.. when I started camming I was living in a .. I don't think it can even be considered living. You know that show 'hoarders' .. it was like that.

My bathroom was DISGUSTING.. and i did ONE show there and quickly never did it again.

I have yet to see an ugly shower, but I did see a room where there were old Dunkin Donuts cups everywhere, wads of tissues, clothes, some old dishes, etc. Don't get me wrong, I do not give a crap if someone doesn't want to deal with that shit, but it was distracting. I began to focus more on what kind of garbage she collected vs. what she was doing. I found she had a proclivity for DD, has allergies, wore the same shirt I wore the other day (which was on her floor), loves dubble bubble bubblegum, and other interesting factoids. I actually found myself wanting to converse with her more because of it...

So, I guess it could be positive/negative. I can't cam in rooms I'm not comfortable in. I can barely cam in my bathroom as it is because I have a (VERY UGLY) setup for my old cat. Someone did comment on my broken soap-holder in the corner of my tub recently, but that was followed up by an awesome conversation about how I got so frustrated that I punched it and broke it and haven't touched it in a month. I do have a new one...just...frustration overwhelms me and I have to back away from things until I simmah down. But anywhoot, don't cam in there if you think it'll upset you/bother you/you don't have good retorts/stories for the trolololers, that's the lesson I've learned!

Besides covering and making temporary "Hollywood" masking repairs, [fast for visual effect, they don't last], you can also mess with lighting. You'd be amazed how cool it can look and what medium wattage blue or purple will hide. If its things like holes in the wall, you can also get many sizes of bathroom decoration stickers and put over a multitude of things. By all means, do some pre-online testing with your cam on.. See how it will look on your laptop and do your tweaks from that perspective.

Lemon, body dismembering huh? .. Get a roll of the yellow crime scene tape.. that would be a hoot and really make it fun. Maybe red syrup in a shampoo bottle for fake blood to add to the "Psycho" effect in the shower....

I agree with a few above- it might influence how people view you. I never do shower shows anyway but I wouldn't consider it in my bathroom either- a few months back a plumber had to get through the wall to fix a problem with the buildings pipes and he never reassembled my wall, really. It's disgusting. I don't want anyone in my room to have the see that. But maybe show us a picture of the big hole?

Also just in case you do save up some money and get a hotel room- find a way to test the net connection first! I've had some great luck camming from hotels but I've also been in some that didn't have a good enough signal in the room to cam from. It would be awful to splurge on that for nothing :).

A nice bathroom really helps. I used to watch burning honey kisses shows just because she has such a pretty bathroom.

Really though, if you keep it clean, fiddle with the lighting and point the camera at the best looking wall, you should be able to hide most of the downsides.

Just a thought ,How about placing a shower curtain rod over the back wall of the tube and hang a shower curtain to cover it.
It would cost little and wont leave any marks.
You could then write names on the curtain so many tokens to be in the shower with you :)

I was going to suggest this but when I thought of it I was way too tired to make the thought coherent. I'm glad someone else suggested it!

I did this in my old bathroom! The curtains and a simple rod are so easy and cheap. Just get a spring loaded one that way you wont be drilling any holes in the wall. And yes if you get a nice white one you could write names in it. They make simple waterproff viyl paint and markers now. But they make some absolutely beautiful vinyl curtains these days that will cover up everything behind it if youd rather go with that choice.
You would be amazed at how much just that simple thing will change the room for you. Not only how your members will see it, but your own mood in camming in there. Seriously try it! Its a $10.00 perfect fix for you!

If it's just a plain old, ugly apartment bathroom everyone watching has probably had one of those in their life. It might even stir some golden days daydreams and make the tokens flow. But, if the room looks cluttered, I always click next. It sets my OCD off. Hehehe.
My bathroom is an ugly pink and white thing. I live in central Florida where all the houses were built in the early 60s, and it shows. The houses were also meant for retirees so my tub also has huge metal safety bars. Not hot, but useful and worth a laugh. Anytime I do a bath show, someone brings up how weird my bathroom is. So, be ready for it! Camera angles might be able to help you too. Or, use the weird bathroom as a selling point. I always have weird bathroom stuff on my wishlist. Last year one of the dudes got me this soap dispenser.
