Struggling to hit one goal after three hours so a green is in the room and I'm like "why isn't anyone else tipping" and I pm'd him to say "not you, everyone else" and then he left.

What the fuck is wrong with this picture? Why is my aggression toward making money an insult to the people who tipped me? Do you think bills stop or there isn't a night that I want to take off and do something else other than try to get your tokens? I am so over the entitlement of tippers exact expectations while we're supposed to just "well yeah I'll do that for this"...do you even see our side at all?

It's so tough.

A huge part of a cam room that operates like mine (and maybe @Vixxen81 and others who run their room a certain way) is managing peoples' expectations, personalities, and enjoyment all wrapped up in a ball. We'll have our core usuals who contribute every show and actually chat, we have newcomers who are interested in what we do and may tip a little and ask a few questions, and we have lurkers. At any given time, ALL OF THEM are paying attention to what we say, but haven't taken note of the overall path of the session. And all of them have their little things that will set them off or put them off.

When things are going well, everyone is happy. When things are going mediocre, it's nice to be able to tell the core usuals "hey I'm hanging in there and thank you for your help, just note I'm gonna try to provoke the newcomers and lurkers to do something more". And when it's going very badly, it's nice if the core usuals UNDERSTAND it isn't THEM that we're getting impatient with. If we can't get that message to the usuals, they may mistake our actions.

I've had so many nights over my years that ended in a general rant toward the camera, and I hated that my core usuals felt that it was aimed at them. They were never the problem, and I never wanted them to feel the brunt of the pressure to make my goals. It's really hard to constantly try to put on a mask to keep the peace between all the personalities and expectations.

Similar night for me tonight, got the rank I like and getting some tips but not at the rate I like. IDK about you but it sometimes seems like a certain viewer is putting some sort of bad omen on the room or everyone can sense your mood somehow idk.... They are not spamming the chat or even in a pm with you or whatever, not doing anything bad, but their presence is like somehow ruining the tipping atmosphere lol I honestly can't wait to log off when I run to the store. Log back on and hope its the reset I need. Sometimes that refresh of the users in the room is what it takes.

It was just a brick wall from start to finish.

*hugz* nights like that are awful! I hope it's not the start of a trend.

It kills the vibe when you get pissed. And maybe they know you aren't directing it at them or that they are necessarily insulted, they can just tell it's not going to be a fun night and they move on to the next cam.

I have learned to try to shrug it off during the show and then explode in explitives as soon as I'm not streaming.

Advice from @ts_cammer98 is advice I should follow more. Taking a break and resetting can be amazing to refresh your room if it's stale. I just don't like blue balls and I'll end up finishing offline. I'll just record that so it doesn't feel like a waste.

For many of us, our usual supporters don’t move on to another cam, we’re their only place to hang.

Just to give you some insights on how our rooms roll.

So if they leave it’s pretty obvious that they took our reaction the wrong way.

Gotcha! I definitely have a different experience than that. Lot more random for me. I still get what you mean though and yeah it does feel devastating when you think someone who supports you seems upset about something happening or takes my mood the wrong way because of some other nuisance types, I have definitely gone through that, but like I said in a much more random way. It's a strange world for me as a straight guy doing shows for guys. A very cool world, but strange at times!

@Vixxen81 and @AmberCutie, sorry to hear that you have to deal with that. I find that it's a pretty thin-skinned audience in these rooms sometimes and that the greens can sometimes be the most thin-skinned of all. Anyone that truly wants the best for a model (and if you've gone to the trouble of going green, then you should) needs to suck it up and realise that every comment or nudge isn't necessarily directed at them.

I find the viewers to be more receptive if you tell them what to do, instead of telling them what they are not doing.

Instead of phrasing it like, "why isn't anyone else tipping",
Try phrasing it positively... like, "I would love if someone would tip for xyz."

People don't like to hear what they're doing wrong. They like to hear what they can do right.

I get an uncomfy amount of comments complaining about my tip menu being too expensive. I literally run a cheaper spin the wheel for the purpose of if someone is low on tokens that day so idk how much cheaper they want me to go but they can go bother someone else lol.

I feel like a lot of tippers also don't realize that we only get half. Explaining it probably violates a terms of service somehow so I don't even bother. But yeah, had someone tell me I had better finish because he had never spent as much as he was in my room, ($100 for me). Pressuring me to finish is a good way to make me not finish, just saying.

Seeing it from his point of view, he had actually spent $200 so I get their frustration too.

This economy is definitely not helping either!

Yeah i totally understand from their perspective they don't want to spend utility bill levels of money on online media entertainment. But that is sometimes what models are asking. I think considering there are so many thousands of models online at one time, it's more worth those customers' time to just click the "next cam" button instead of putting all of the pressure on us. But idk actually. I know i have a bias being on the other side of the camera.

I'm on both sides of the camera. (I started camming just to make tokens to use as tips. It grew from there.)

As a guy I can definitely tell you if it gets boring or there's a bad vibe I will go to another room. I'm not a big time tipper like some guys are though (I'm convinced some of them are CEOs.)

So well put.

Mostly true for SM or private-based sites, too. I'm always shit scared the nice guys who don't really need "the talk" are going to get offended and think "the talk" is aimed toward them. When it absolutely never is.

There are so many awesome people on these sites, along with the not-so-awesome, and unfortunately, sometimes the cool people take something that was not meant for them, as if it were.
And when a lot is going on at once, it's difficult to make it as clear and to clarify fast enough. Especially if someone else is having a tough day and is more in their feelings than perhaps you anticipated.

Also well said and spot on.

I love this place.

It's been a shit week all week and after seeing the same group of names in and out all week long I said something. Ah well, today's another day. 🙂
