I have owned and agency (MazeModels) for recruiting adult talent for 8 years now. The best cam site for both male a females currently is Chaturbate.

I base that on the amount of traffic they get, how high the payout is and how good and quick support is. They are currently the second most visited cam site on the web and they have only been open a little over a year so there is tons of opportunities for new models.

Why would anyone sign up with you if you don't even know how long the site you're plugging has been around? Chaturbate has been around since at least 2011.
Secondly, there's no one best site. Different sites work better for different people.
Third, no one use that link he posted to sign up for Chaturbate, he's just trying to make money off you. Just go direct to the site to sign up. Nice first post.

And ironically this shows just how similar the male camming is to the female camming business. No matter what sex you are, if you don't do your research there will be someone in the wings ready to fuck you over every way they can.

Advice needed for a new web cam guy

After giving it a lot of thought and reading/researching until im blue in the face Ive decided to see if I can make some additional money as a male webcam model. Im a single straight male but consider myself extremely open minded. Meaning that I've participated in bisexual play as part of having fun times in the swinger community which I am pretty active in. Also I am accustomed to entertaining an audience with me having little to no clothes on a haveing to keep a smile on my face and a song in my heart (i was a male dancer many years ago). I'm assuming that the vast differences in the guy and girl web cam industry is very similar to that of male and female strippers. Im also aware that many of my potential clients will be males asking me to do stuff for them. That doesn't bother me as I have full control of my boundaries.

So my two big questions are as follows.
1. Is there a leading webcam site for men or should I take what I've read on here from you ladies and apply it to myself.

2.What feedback have your heard from the men in the industry that you think a rookie like myself should know.

Thanks for any help and I have included several recent pics of my self if anyone cares to look.

Male Webcam Modeling

by NorCalBouncer

Being a webcam model as a straight male can be quite the unnerving option for certain men. The fact is, regardless of your sexual preference, the overwhelming majority of live cam show customers are male, which means that you will be performing for gay/bi men far more often than not.

Long before I became an actual webcam model, I had primarily spent my time “in the business” recruiting models. It seems like in the ads that I would post, I would get just as many men responding to them as I would women, yet hardly ever had any of those men sign on to actually become a model compared to how many of the women would sign on. The deciding factor for the men who chose not to pursue it always seemed to revolve around the answer to similar versions of the same question.

“Do I have to perform for gay guys?”

My answer was always the same.

“No, you don’t HAVE to, but you’re not going to make any money if you don’t.”

And that’s the cold, hard truth. The idea of getting paid to perform on cam for horny women sure is a nice thought, but it’s just not realistic. In almost a year of being a model, myself, I can literally count on one hand how many times I’ve either been tipped or taken private by a female customer. Yes, it DOES happen, but it’s a very rare occurrence, and those times should definitely be enjoyed. But in reality, it’s primarily men who “get off” to experiences like the ones presented by cam models. It’s proven science that men are much more visually stimulated than women are, and that doesn’t change with homosexuality introduced to the equation.
So with that being said, straight males wanting to work as cam models have to be in the right mindset. You HAVE to think of it as what it is…a job. And the job requires you to put on a performance, regardless of who your audience is. The guys who will come into your room are all potential paying customers, and MANY of them love the fantasy of turning the straight guy out. So the fact that you’re heterosexual can absolutely play to your advantage. I’ve had customers that tell me they love the idea of being used and humiliated by a straight man – and I play to that. Some more prefer the challenge, attempting to convince you that they could pleasure you better than any woman ever could.

If you’re in the right mindset to do this, THESE are the exact situations you want to maximize your earnings.

Tease them…make them think that maybe, JUST MAYBE, there’s a glimmer of hope that you’d let them give you head, or whatever it is they’d like to do with you. Just because you’re telling them that doesn’t mean it’s true. Again, you’re a performer, and it’s all just part of the performance. That’s the biggest thing to keep in mind. Once you’ve been at it for a little while, you get more comfortable with it, and it becomes “natural.”

Another issue that comes up with straight males performing for gay men comes into play once you’ve got a customer in private/paid chat. Many of them will want to go cam 2 cam with you, which is HIGHLY recommended to ALWAYS accept. It’s proven that c2c paid sessions last longer than when just the model is on cam. It makes the customer feel as if you are really into it. Again, it may be a bit uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it, and don’t HAVE to actually sit there and stare at their cam the entire time. On Streamate, for example, the c2c window will open up with the customer’s cam in the smaller thumbnail window which is really hard to see unless you’re really close to your monitor. It has the option to switch it around, which you should probably at least take a peek so you can see the position they’re in and talk to them as if you’re really paying attention. I know this might sound rather shady to some, but again, it all comes down to the fact that this is a performance. Some straight guys may not be able to maintain an erection if they’re sitting there watching another guy stroking - and that’s okay. Do what you have to do to give the customer the show that they’re paying good money for. More often than not, if I’m on cam, I have lesbian porn running off to the side to help me stay hard. Just keep the sound low if you choose to do this – the customers WILL leave if they hear women moaning in the background.

Being a cam model as a straight male certainly isn’t for everyone. It’s understood that some people do have true homophobia, and just can’t handle the type of performance that is needed to be successful with a job like this. Unfortunately though, there just aren’t enough women out there willing to pay to watch a guy pleasure himself to make it worthwhile to ONLY perform for females.

But if you can keep an open mind and remember that it’s JUST a performance, and these people really are never going to be able to touch you, meet you in person, etc., being a cam model as a straight male can be very profitable. It’s all in your attitude towards it.

Everyone agrees that Chaturbate is the best site for male models? I've been doing it for 3 months now, was wondering if there are any other good websites.

PS: Thank you for creating this forum Amber. I've been a fan of your for years, love to see you dancing

As far as I am aware, Streamate also allows for male models and couples. If CB isn't working out, could always check there.

Hey, I have worked on many cam sites and chaturbate is %100 the best site. Somedays I make $1000 perday! I worked on flirt4free before chaturbate and if I made 1000 in the 2 week pay period I was happy! Feel free to msg me if you want some hints on how to make maximum tokens! My profile is chaturbate.com/straightking

I know its not camming per say but any males considering making clips my boyfriend does quite well for himself (for solo stuff) on Clips4sale. There is totally a market for male solo fetish work: Also a huge inspiration is Lance Hart- He writes an amazing blog on how to make it as a male in the industry. He's a top 50 clip maker and is amazing:

Hi I am new and wish to broadcast myself, money sounds good, but I have a sexual desire to do this.
I wanna act the way I feel which is horny most of the time. I find male and females attractive, but I aint gay, I might be bi, but I would not have sex with a guy. I just love beautiful people.
I feel that I can do this and get my desires out there too. This is entertainment and I like to entertain people all the time with my humor.
I haven't tried doing it on cam, but it kind of make me feel good to attempt it. I feel horny just think about it.
I watched a tranny the other day and I found him/her beautiful. A person able to flaunt what they had and be comfortable with themselves was beautiful. Feels good to be apart of this community as everyone judges me in my life.
No one understand my sexual appetite and I feel that I can get it here, doesn't matter which gender is watching.
I do want to be admired cause that is sexy as I admire the other cam people. They all have lovely personalities

Hi, I just wanted to say what a great forum with lots of useful information. I'm slowly working my way through some of the post to get as much information as possible.

I've just been verified on Chaturbate, email came through this morning and working on my profile and set up for my first cam session (planning for tomorrow night).

I'm in the position where lighting is reasonable and will improve it further when I up grade my Web Cam. I have a Logistics HD 720p which seems a little grainy in the practice clips I've done to work out the best cam position along with practicing being on cam.

I want to make a good professional go of it, and not sell myself short from the offset. I'm slightly older (36) than the majority of the male models I see on Chaturbate and certainly have a different look.

I want to talk and vocally interact as much as possible, I'm English and don't have a thick local accent. I'm not going to be cumming on free chat and will occasionally do it on private, would it be best to state this on my profile and make it clear from the outset, do I need to be reinforcing this often on camera in a playful way?

On a separate matter I've seen a few posts about setting up a specific twitter account, for anyone that Twitter do you set the account so only allowed followers can see the content?

Any tips on getting through my first session and making it as an enjoyable expierence as possible would be appreciated.

Thought I'd chime in on these two things I can help with. First off, look at this lighting thread. It could very well be the reason your HD webcam is a little grainy. I've had webcams make ultra-clear HD images, and grainy/pixelated messes (same cam), all because of poor lighting or proper lighting.

As far as I know, the majority of models use Twitter publicly to generate traffic into their room. Though if you're big on producing content, a private Twitter members could buy access to might be a way to easily share photos with your followers. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome and also the lighting link. I've just been playing around with the lights I have and seem to have a obtained a better picture. Although saying that I need to do something with the room ceiling light as it's causing a little glare, perks of a bald head I guess.

Hello guys,
I just decided to start my career as a Cam guy. I found sites like Chatubate, Gayreign and Imlive. Which one do you think it would be the best for a newbie like me?

Maybe try having a desk lamp in front of you shining straight on (into your face) or from below, so that they don't catch as much glare?

As for the Twitter thing. I know quite a few people (myself included) find models through Twitter BEFORE we watch them on cam. And if someone has their Twitter locked, I won't waste the time asking to follow them. Simply because I only follow few select people who have already proven to me that they're awesome/funny as hell. Having more Twitter followers doesn't necessarily correlate to you having more viewers/tippers, but it does work as free advertising. Showcase your talents. If you're an artist, tweet pictures that you draw. Hell, do a giveaway free drawing for a random follower. If you're funny, make jokes. I have so many regulars that follow @ConnerJay because she's fucking hilarious. Plus, if it's an unlocked account, your tweets might get retweeted causing you to get even more exposure.

Now, I'm not extremely familiar with Chaturbate. Are you allowed to post your Twitter link in chat/on profile? If not, then it might not even be worth pursuing since your target audience won't already be frequenting Twitter.

I have a lot of respect for you for going into this business with a professional outlook before even turning on the cam, this is more rare than you would imagine. As for your age and look - this is an advantage for you. I'm 29 and bearded/don't shave/etc. and I get told regularly that I am "old" for the site or "why don't you shave", stuff like that... ignore that crap, they will never be paying customers for you anyway. You fall into several very specific demographics that are actively sought - ones that people who appreciate will stay with you for. Given that, focus on customer/regular retention rather than getting consumed with or psyched out by room counts and numbers. Regulars are vastly more important than sheer room traffic and those that appreciate you for who you are as a person and an entertainer will treat you much better than those that are just flipping the channels.

I want to talk and vocally interact as much as possible, I'm English and don't have a thick local accent. People melt for an accent; if you have that in your arsenal, you can play that up to your advantage. As for public shows - I, as well, have never done a public cumshow in the 2.5 years I have been on CB. You will take hits on viewer numbers because of it, but once again... if you make it a valuable commodity (as it is), those that appreciate you will do privates. Group shows are also an option if you want to sorta... meet half way... but that's entirely your call. If you are going for a more conversational, playful, interactive room, you're going to need to put in face-time in public chat as much as possible - any time in private is time out of public. For this reason, I transitioned over to scheduling privates in advance - it doesn't interrupt the flow of the room or the show when we're all having fun and then someone suddenly gets insistent about taking me away from the room. It's obviously not required, you'll adapt your room as you go along, but it's something to consider. If you do cumshows, that's your gold - treat the value of these shows accordingly.

I would absolutely establish room rules and policies clearly in your bio. People don't often read it, but you can refer anyone with questions to it as a way to not interrupt the flow of the room.

On a separate matter I've seen a few posts about setting up a specific twitter account, for anyone that Twitter do you set the account so only allowed followers can see the content?

Agreed will all previous statements about Twitter. Twitter is a PR tool, it's not going to automatically bring viewers in but it's a great (free) way to connect with regulars on your off-hours, keep them in touch with what's going on with events/scheduling changes and to network with other models/promoters/potentially new customers. As such, I would not restrict it at all, rather simply post things on it that you are 100% okay with anyone seeing - there's no point in publicity if no one can see it. If you are going to tweet something that you feel your account should be protected for, you probably shouldn't tweet it.

Although saying that I need to do something with the room ceiling light as it's causing a little glare, perks of a bald head I guess.

Just a few thoughts on the glare...
1. Some members actually have a fetish/affinity for that, you should adapt accordingly but that could work in your advantage. Just get your brightness, contrast and color balance dialed in and then turn off any auto-balance functions on your cam software. Glare will only fuck up your stream when your cam is trying to re-calibrate, it won't do that if auto-balance is turned off.
2. There are some simple solutions for reduction of "bald head glare" that you can use if you feel it's holding you back. There are "shine-reducing" or "matte-finish" moisturizers out there that are marketed to reduce that "shiny-face look" that will work fine on your scalp. For a quick and easy solution, you can always just get a powder foundation makeup, match the tone and you should be good to go.

For anti shiny skin, you can always lightly pat on baby powder or setting powder for makeup. :)

Just a light dusting patted on should be plenty and help keep shine from lights and natural skin at bay. I have incredibly oily skin all over so I've learned a few tricks.

I agree I'm 31 and doing this 4 years and still going very strong.

I would turn off any ceiling lights. Anytime that I have ceiling lights on, even if they are turned way down with a dimmer, they mess up my videos. Use umbrella lights, table lights, or floor lights instead. That should cut down on a lot of your glare!

edit: Just to add.... I personally have a thing for bald headed guys.

hello guys! Brand new to the site, and to camming in general. I didn't read all the above comments, so if these questions have been answered already i'm so sorry!

First off; I know I need to be streaming A LOT to get my room attention, which is fine, but what exactly should I be doing? I made a set list for token prices on what you'll get, but I feel like if I just sit in my room with all my clothes on i'm not going to get any attention/followers.

also I set up a twitter as well, how do I go about getting followers? Where do I find the right audience in the abundance of people in the twitter realm.
okay! thanks guys. any advice appreciated. also, I use cb if that's important to know!
