It seems like most models are not aware of these changes and some are even having their accounts shadow banned or shut down entirely for violating these new sensitive media policy changes on Twitter, so I took it upon myself to try and provide a more clear description of what is now considered a violation of Twitter's Media policy.

In late November 2017, Twitter rolled out some new rules regarding their sensitive media guidelines. The basic summary of what I found was that you absolutely have to mark any and all nudity or sexually explicit or suggestive content as "sensitive" to avoid being reported for violating the Media Policy. You also cannot use any adult content in your profile photo or header images.

" We consider adult content to be any media that is pornographic and/or may be intended to cause sexual arousal. Learn more about our media policy.

Twitter allows some forms of graphic violence and/or adult content in Tweets marked as containing sensitive media. However, you may not use such content in your profile or header images.
"

I love how they're acting all low key pervert with this, but everything else is omfgBANNNNN!

But it's easy to have your avatar and header not have nudes and to mark media as sensitive. I didn't see anything they wouldn't already shut down a person's twitter for.

Yeah I've been trying to reach out to Twitter staff all morning to get more clarification on that clause. I feel like we can all argue that pornography or nudity are art forms so...not sure what their standards are in regards to that exception. They really do a terrible job of explaining what the violations are or how they are enforced.

I once got in trouble for an avatar with cartoon tits and "sensitive" pics which I've changed the settings for. Haven't had any trouble since.

I feel like they're starting to crack down on this more on other platforms as well. I saw a tweet this morning from a model showing her Instagram was deleted for violating their media policy over there which has an extremely similar description of sensitive media as Twitter.

Hate the way they've worded things, but if it means they're sifting through avatars banning wieners, I am all for it. Twitter's not really a responsible place to unleash all the nudes.

Instagram has always been very very strictly no nudity.

This has been the case as long as I've been using Twitter, though. It's not really new.

I think it’s weird because you had celebrity models like Sara Underwood posting her bare buttocks while I did that once in a very similar pose and the picture was removed.
They do play favorites on Instagram. I don’t know about Twitter but thanks for the heads up! Going to fix this now!

Also a quick question, if you censor your picture with like blur or an emoji, would that be ok with the new rules? Last thing I need after a low traffic season is to have my twitter banned.

Just mark your media as sensitive in your Twitter settings.

I think a good way to look at it is, even if you aren't posting what is generally considered "explicit," we make masturbation material. Or at the very least, we work on sites that provide masturbation material. That's explicit any way you cut it. Mark your content sensitive.

I just noticed there's a lot of complaining about being shadow banned for not knowing about these rules though. I thought I'd share it since the new clarifications came out.

Got you, I should have phrase better. My concern was about old tweets, but it makes sense that once you mark it as sensitive also the old content will be automatically marked?

That’s what I really wanted to ask. My sincere apologies :(

Most definitely the "shadowban" thing has become a huge deal. But I do believe that started much earlier this year when Twitter started using some safe search and filtering methods that were set as default when they launched. Outlined this section of a blog post posted by twitter in early February 2017:

I believe the millions of users who were unaware that these settings were implemented on their accounts (and thus have not turned them off) has drastically reduced impressions on those of us with sensitive media, and also started the shadowban effect by limiting search results for our tweets. :(

I don't know if they're actively looking for them, but I report every dick avi that interacts with me, and they usually make them take it down.

Back when I was on Facebook, when I would get bored, I would go on Facebook pages where people posted lots of dick picks so I could report them. I did it every day. I got 3 people permanently banned from Facebook.

Yes, the shadowban thing really hurts our reach on Twitter. It's sad.

Carry on. Twitter could use it.

Where can I find them?
I imagine it would take more effort since there aren't groups on twitter like there are on facebook, but if/when you come across them, report the garbage. Community service! It will happen organically, even if you do not seek them out.

Unsolicited direct dick tweets and DM's, or avatars... sure. But if they just post it to their general timeline let em be.

Yes - to clarify, I meant their displayed photos used as their header or userpic. If they want to post dicks all over their own timelines, by all means! It's the whole, "making people look at your genitals without consent" thing that is the issue.
