Annoying forum trends

I'm a moderator on a forum and I had a user once report one of my posts and in the comments stated that I was an ass.

You don't work for Etsy, do you? :lol:
Because I've done that loads of times to those mods. They are asses though.

No. It was a a message board.

This was new user that was mad at a company after a loophole that they thought they found didn't work. I more or less told them that the circumstances didn't even apply to them and I thought they were trying to cheat the system. In response they started playing internet lawyer, and tried to flame bait me.

I could have been a little more diplomatic in my response and I didn't want to look like I was attacking the new user, so I didn't ban them. Fortunately nobody else bought into their BS and they just quit posting.
