I'm a cam model and I get my payments through wire transfer. I'm wondering how much gets paid for conversion fees and wire fees between USD and CAD? Because CB say they sent a certain amount but I receive significantly less than what the exchange rate says.

Thanks!

Your bank could charge you a fee for the international transfer, it could also take a fee to convert between two currencies, etc. It'd probably be the best idea to call your bank to discuss it as we don't generally know the specifics. I know for me in NZ, there's usually a $10-$45 fee just to transfer internationally without any of my own bank conversion fees.

If you are using google to determine the exchange rate ; searching $100 usd to CAD, for example, the number that comes up is not the number you will ever get into your bank account. That exchange rate is the highest rate possible and only people exchanging large sums of money (over $10,000) in specific ways have access to get that rate. Most bank accounts will be 2-3% or much more underneath that rate. So for example today google says the exchange rate from USD to CAD is 1.24, but when my cam site deposits my cheque, it will be more likely to come through at 1.20 or 1.21. Also, some banks charge a fee to receive international wires - this fee would be on top of the fee CB will charge to send an international wire.
