it seems some people are convinced we will 100% be recognised no matter what, whereas we thought it minimised the risk to something more acceptable for our psyches.
Some people = experienced models who’ve both experienced this themselves and seen scores of people with the same idea you have get outted/discovered

Still not sure why people always say “but nobody can prove it’s us” as if there’s a court of law trying to doxx you, lol. You can recognize someone by their gait, body shape, gestures, etc and that is quadrupled when you’re a couple because that’s not only two peoples worth of quirks to recognize but also how you look/act together. Nobody has to prove it’s you to start rumours or forward the feed to your mom.

This is annoying. So annoying. Like others have said, the internet is forever. Your sessions will get stored somewhere. Forever. Someone will probably recognize you. Whether that person tells you or not is up in the air. It's something every person that thinks of doing this job needs to come to grips with before they press that 'broadcast' button. It doesn't matter if you make yourself 'unrecognizable' or not, someone will be able to see some random part of you and know it's you.

Humans are very good at spotting patterns and familiarity. I've had friends recognize me (not connected to cam life, I was chilling with my bf) just from seeing the back of my head. And I'm a brunette with a non-remarkable haircut and they couldn't see the rest of me.

Just because you think it can't happen doesn't mean it won't.

Placing Pornhub next to a site like Camwhores tells me exactly how much you know about DMCA and how to keep yourself and your girlfriend safe. Camwhores is one of the most difficult sites to remove content from. Securom, the admin is russian, he hosts the videos in a very cheap server but rerouts using Quasinetworks, a bulletproof server that hosts all kinds of shit including CP. The only reason he is removing your shit is because Chaturbate decided to sponsor his website a few months ago on the condition that he removes Chaturbate models recordings. Here is a relevant thread from about a year ago that you should probably read:

https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/threads/bongacams-please-explain-this-shit.25367/

But here is the thing with Camwhores: as the community grows they keep posting more and more videos daily. My attorney has to send my list of links EVERY DAY because it is every day that my stuff gets posted there. It's gotten to a point in which they keep uploading things but without using my model name so my attorney doesn't find it, but he is good so he still finds it. If you ever become popular this will happen to you as well. You wont be able to keep up with the DMCA requests. Sites like Xvideos take about a week to remove your shit, and if you ever record "premium" videos Camwhores might not even delete them on the grounds that it isn't material that belongs to Chaturbate. Now go ahead and check Anon V. Last time I visited they didn't have any agreement with CB so they wont remove your stuff no matter what you say. Go to rec-tube as well.

And by the way... if your model name is the same as your username here, your stuff is really easy to find and you wear no wigs, no heavy make up, just masks. I could recognize you anywhere.

Thats interesting about camwhores. Yeah we are aware that with our username we would be easy to find, the point is whether someone recognises once they see us. She is wearing a wig, and she has heavy makeup, in real life she looks completely different and is darker skinned, she is wearing lightening makeup. Some of my tats are fake too in the videos. We also used lightening that makes my body looks way different, in real life im much more defined. Yeah we found ourselves on rec-tube but luckily it seems that website is hard to come across. I guess we should stop soon if want to avoid it getting out of control, if everyone seems to eventually get recognised.

This thread is so annoying.

"We are really nervous about getting our identities revealed so please lie to us and say it will never ever happen. Thanks."

How about no. The truth about sex work is that people are constantly trying to discover and expose a performer's name and address. There is no way to guarantee this doesn't happen.

We have to make this fact clear so that curious people researching this topic know the risks. You guys can continue to live in your dream world but everyone else should know that you absolutely have not discovered a fool proof method against being doxxed and there never will be one.

We are aware its not fool proof and after all these comments we are understanding the risks more carefully than when we were previously searching for threads like this. Anyway, I think we are willing to accept the risks despite our precautions.

That's intense, did your boyfriend know about it at the time? We are aware our precautions aren't foolproof, but we hope they will mitigate the risk at least a bit. If someone finds our username we will obviously get recognised, but hopefully someone coming across one video won't immediately notice us through the thumbnail.

I guess we will have to hope for the best and limit it to a short period of time.

you guys should take location off. don't put your city or a pretend city. that just makes people want to find you more.

Question: Why do people even ask for our advice, expertise, and opinion when they just turn around and argue with it? This happens all the time.

Yes the precautions you take are pretty much pointless. it might make it harder. But there are people who are fantastic at finding people with just a little bit of your face showing.

I know this has bit of a comedic element to it, but it shows you how people were able to locate someone with just little information. I have found people doing the same for me and other models.

Interesting video. So i guess our precautions are more helpful for hiding from someone we know if a video is reposted but pointless if someone becomes obsessed with finding out who we are.

So making pretend locations and names is even worse? You advise to put things blank?

yes. just leave location blank.

Thanks for the advice. We saw couples that have their real locations and photos of even their private activities together on their cam twitter, which could easily be used to find out where they live. Are they not worried about stalkers? I guess we are lucky we never live in a country more than a few months at a time.

I should clarify that this was just me eating with my boyfriend and a friend that I know and who knows I cam but doesn't come to my room recognized me as a friend from behind. This example had nothing to do with sex work. Just that someone can recognize you just from something as innocuous as the back of your head.

The most LOL moment in this thread is when the OP changed his username even though he "thought" of everything. Honestly OP, you sound like a really good guy. There is a reason why sex work pays so well. There are downsides that just can't be mitigated. You can fool yourself into thinking you can though, if it makes you sleep better.

you'll meet a lot of obsessive people. when you get naked on the internet, it attacks those kinds of people who want to find your doxx or out you because it's a total power control thing. when you make it harder, it's game.

but remember people who know you can point you out easily just by your mannerisms, way you walk, or looking at the back of your head. i remember in college when my husband and his friends dressed up in those green full body spandex suits for a football game, i was able to easily tell which one was him. he is average weight and build too.

it's better to prepare mentally for when it may happen. will you deny it or admit it? if you find yourself in a situation where someone wants to out you, will you out yourself first so you are in control or will you let it take its course? are your families more progressive, conservative, or moderate? start getting their opinions on pornography so you can get an idea if you don't know. do you have a good enough support structure for when you do get outed and shunned from your community/family/friends?

imho, you guys should just make clips instead of streaming. you are more likely to get found out there then clips. but remember it can still happen on clip sites too.

Hahahah yeah we thought someone might come across this thread and decide to uncover who we are to prove a point to us.

We understand that the risk of a customer trying to out is is basically impossible to minimise, but we hope at least if someone we know stumbles on a vid they won’t recognise us so easily, or try too hard to prove its us despite our disguises.

Thats a good idea, is there decent money in selling clips? What websites would you recommend? We saw on pornhub you can make affiliate revenue for putting up videos but we assumed you make almost no money on that.

I was so confused... so Baccandtouch is the OP? He changed his name?

We changed it in case someone might try to uncover our actual identities to prove it to us through our chaturbate username, as it was similar to the one we had here.

We realise we argued against some of the advice but thats partly because we have some preconcieved notions about this whole thing from reading other threads and forums. Of course as you can see we are open to disagreement and thats why we are writing here, to challenge our ideas and maybe change something about our approach, or beliefs.

yes there are people who make a pretty decent living or PT equivalent revenue just selling clips.

iwantclips, youkandy, manyvids, clips4sale, extralunchmoney just to name a few.

here are a lot of info with dedicated threads

Unfortunately, it seems that all of the quoted text from before your name change still has your old name attached to it, so it'll still be indexed and searchable by Google...

That being said, I think you are doing a pretty good job of doing a lot of things to try to stay hidden. But like everyone here says, there's no foolproof way to ensure that it will be hidden forever. Who knows though, maybe you'll end up lucky and never be doxxed. If you're asking for advice on additional things you can do to maybe help with that, it's already been mentioned here - covering up tattoos, wearing wigs, staying vigilant about sending takedowns to hosting sites, doing clips, etc.

This thread reminded me about a MFC model I saw once with the name "Downloads" or something like that. At first I was confused, but then it occurred to me that it's a fairly clever way to make Google sleuthing pretty difficult/annoying. :haha:

I think if you keep the "it will be hard to prove it's us so we're pretty sure we'll never be found out" mind set, even if you say you are aware that it can still happen, is setting you up for an even bigger shock if/when you are outed.

Being outted is something no one is ever truly prepared for. Yes you can come to terms and prepare but you never know how it'll happen or be able to fully prepare for the emotional turmoil involved. It's like having a baby, no one's ever actually prepared to have one.

But I really feel like you are giving yourselves a false sense of security. If the disguise helps you feel more comfortable then that's great and if that makes it worth it to you then go for it but don't think it will make it harder to be outted. Its your persona and if its working for you then stick with it until you wanna do a big reveal or something. But if being outted will truly ruin yours or your partners future career choices or severely hurt one of you to be possibly shunned by any family or friends then you might want to reconsider doing this. The internet is forever and each time you broadcast that's adding more videos elsewhere. I don't know how many times an ex model has come here to ask advice of dmca old videos. They quit after realizing they are being capped and do everything they can to pull all their capped clips down just to check months later and find them back up again else where.

Camming can be rewarding and enjoyable but IMHO being stressed over being recognized in capped clips that you have little control over makes it not worth it.

I think it is important to note that technology is always improving.

Facial recognition software is going to get better and better over time. It only takes your masks falling off on cam ONCE for it to be recorded and stored on the internet forever. Maybe in 20 years it will be common practice for employers to include internet facial recognition in background checks outing you to every future employer hindering your ability to get work due to stigma.

It's also worth noting that recognition software is not limited to faces. Ears are another big tool in identification and who knows how that will keep improving over time.

Edited to add: Just last year some guy tried to pitch us his idea of a website dedicated to facial recognition of camgirls. He isn't the first and he certainly won't be the last to do this.

What was in the video that made it go viral? We don't do much in public shows that makes it worthwhile to share, we save it for private and ticket shows.

People can still record and share privates. Nothing is foolproof.

Megacams is already doing stuff with facial recognition software. https://www.theverge.com/2016/9/23/13028094/cam-girl-facial-recognition

At this point I'm not completely convinced that the OP isn't just trolling the forum.

It's sounding like the old joke where the guy goes in to see the doctor and says "Doctor, it hurts every time I do this." So the Doctor then says, "well stop doing that". Except this clown insists on "doing that".

Seriously, this day and age, only a fool would think they could stay anonymous online.

Agreed, I do sound like a wee bit of an asshole, but the truth often does that. Please hold your breath waiting for an apology. (Don't worry they'll be fine, they'll just pass out for a bit)

You don't sound like an asshole at all! We wanted to hear truths so we can better understand something we are still learning about.

Thanks to all the helpful comments, we understand that there will always be a chance of being recognised despite the millions of videos out there.
Even if we aren't as easily recognisable due to our disguises and even though we have both moved countries a lot and don't live in the US, where revenge porn seems to be popular, we hope whoever finds us doesn't somehow associate it with our name, which we realise is a possibility.

Luckily, we are both in college for employment paths where this becoming associated with our name wouldn't particularly hurt us. Furthermore, we realised our friends/family are very open minded individuals and after telling a few they didn't care, and if any would in the future, then who needs them anyway.

So we decided for a few months we will continue until we have accumulated enough money we need for the investments we are saving up for. Every time we broadcast we are in the top row of couples and right now we are making a few hundred euros/dollars an hour and that's just very helpful for our investment projects.
