As far as I can tell, at the moment, this is a phishing attempt. I can find no legitimate links, posts, or articles, on it anywhere. I would not suggest entering anything on this site, or even linking to it.

ALSO: This was double-posted (another red-flag) in the Models section.

How to do this legitimately!
Live on only $19/mo!!!!!!
(Is that enough exclamation marks?

Anyway - some research I did into what is the absolute cheapest you can eat in the UK.
I suspect US figures would be more or less similar.

http://www.livestrong.com/forums/viewto ... 40#p744840

Brief excerpts.
2 multivitamins - 1p.
440g flour - 12p (1500kC)
50g vegetable oil - 5p (400kC)
500g vegetables (onions, cabbage, carrots - whatever's cheap) - 15p.

Or a total of 2000 calories, and 32p - $.50/day.

(For short periods, you can leave most of the veg, taking it to around $10/mo)

But $50/mo is quite achievable, and achievable with relatively low fat, salt,
You're eating basic stuff, but it can be tasty.
There isn't a lot of meat or cheese,...

Bah, I deleted the spammer's posts and didn't realize you guys had posted in it... this is why, if there's a spammer, just report it and don't reply lol. kkthx! :D

Pawn the kids off on the grandparents or wait til they move out... that seems to be the only way to reduce my grocery bill by 80%!

Well, some real good ways to save money while shopping are simple.
First make a list of everything you need for two weeks. Use a menu so you know how much of what you need to actually make something.
Second, stick to the list and only to the list.
Now since you're making two weeks at once you have to remember that fresh fruits and veggies are always go first. So you'll eat most of that right away and then move on to frozen foods or omit certain items.

Another good tip is to get your fruits and veggies at a local farmers market or similar. You can often get better quality goods at a lower price.

Stick to the list is good advice - but don't bullshit.
if you put stuff on the list that 'is good for you' - but that you don't normally eat, or like, then you are setting yourself up to fail.

Farmers markets are good - but count all your costs.

it's only a bargain at the end of the day if you don't throw it away, and it isn't in your cupboard next year.

Is there cheap stuff that you like, but is a hastle to prepare? Consider making large amounts and freezing.

Just wait until they hit the teen years   I have two boys that eat like they are an entire troop. I have not seen a grocery bill for less than $125 a week
