Does anyone know on average how long it takes for the large amount of sales to happen after you open your C4S store?

I just opened this store last week(8/24) and I am already frustrated. As of this moment, I have gotten 240 hits but only 1 sale. WTF.

I think that people are pirating my shit big time and when I tried to contact C4S about it, apparently they can't do anything to combat

possible piracy. I am not going to keep updating that store everyday if I am not getting paid for it. I thought C4S was a site where

you got sales instantly because people will pay for any kind of fetish and I have put up a lot of fetishes. I keep reading online that C4S

shaves aka steals money from its store owners but I don't know how true that is and I don't want to jump to that conclusion. All I know

is that 240 hits and 1 sale is really really sketchy.

I haven't seen much/any evidence for C4S shaving money off sales. In the year and a half I've been on there, I've never felt it was a problem.

Nothing in camland is guaranteed, though. The best way to be successful on c4s is to keep filming & uploading, focus on good lighting/descriptions/gifs, and use social media to advertise new videos. The one nice thing about clip sites is that once the videos are posted, you can keep profiting off them for as long as you want. So it's not like a cam shift where you get no tippers and it feels like a waste of time. Yesterday someone bought a video I filmed almost two years ago. The more videos you have, the more people will have to choose from and you'll start to notice more frequent, and bigger, sales (in my experience).

Have you personally found your clips? I highly doubt people are pirating if only 1 clip has sold, that doesn't make sense to me. It's a holiday weekend and people are with there families, also a lot of people are spending money on Christmas presents not porn- most of us have been having this issue the whole month of November. My hits are half of what they were in October- You picked a really slow month to start your store. Also what categories are you posting in? It could be the categories as well. Some categories are more lucrative than other's and if you are making vanilla type clips that could also be an issue. How often are you updating? Are you posting 4-5 clips a day and putting both Mp4 and WMV (spaced apart) and in different categories - (example- I made a limp taboo clip: Mp4 went in Limp Fetish and WMV went in Taboo) - If your only posting once a day I wouldn't expect to be rolling in $$. You have to space clips out 3 hours apart and upload multiple times a day and advertise/promote your site as well as get google analytics and track your traffic. You may be posting at weird times- try and upload at like 9:12 instead of 9am - most people update at a normal time but I find if you update at 9:43 instead of 9:45 not as many people do that and you have a better chance to get noticed.

I had 800 hits yesterday and 2 sales.. It happens - yet there are some days I have low hits and over $100 days its not about numbers its about people buying. I also want to add it took me 6 months to make any real money on clips4sale its NOT instant - Yes for some people it is but most people it takes time and patience. It took me over a year of doing clips part time to go full time with it and I was scared as hell to loose my camming income. I'm very happy to just be making clips but it's something that took a long time, determination and lots of fucking hard work

Newb bloob question: How do I go about offering custom videos without breaking c4s rules?

Once your studio has been active for 2 weeks you can put it right on your clips4sale where your HTML is and stuff > If you check mine out I have a "customs clip" button that links to my website.

Newb bloob question: How do I go about offering custom videos without breaking c4s rules?

You can just offer to make custom videos on your store page, it's not forbidden. Most girls put an email there "email me for customs". You have to figure out deliver and payment though.. if you are interested, I can post more info on that.

I was working a lot on adult-income.com the past months and I think, especially for starters, it could answer some questions. I have written some guides on c4s that might help you get started and overcome frustrations. Quitting early is the #1 reason why most stores don't make it far (well.. obviously, what I meant is that everyone could go far, but you have to power through the tunnel until you see the light :p)

About "shaving": There were accusations against c4s about that, but it turned out that the guy was making it up. It all started with this thread (http://www.lukeisback.com/2010/12/clips-4-sale-shaving-your-sales/)
Now before you read that, it was NOT true.

Here is Neil's response (c4s owner):
http://www.lukeisback.com/2010/12/neil-at-clips-4-sale-wants-accusers-apology/

Here is the apology and "truth" about what happened from Lukeiback:

http://www.lukeisback.com/2011/01/im-sorry-to-clips-4-sale-neil/

Generally: Sales go up and down and sometimes you have a load of visitors and zero sales, sometimes a few visitors and great sales. Whenever it's depressing, people (including me in the past) find thousand reasons why the are not selling - outside of their own reach. Reality is, everytime you upload a clip that people want, you will make sales. It's just not always clear what works. A good attitude is vital in keeping your business going.

The best medicine against bad sales days is getting up and making great clips. Also don't neglect your descriptions and overall presentation of your store and clips. Use pictures / good gifs and colors that work. I know this sounds stupid and short, but I wrote about 110 pages on just how to get your store set-up so it's a little hard to condense that into a forum post right now, and it's also a little unnecessary.

You can get started reading here:

I work on the site every day

After 2 months I finally have the 10 clips to open a store. I uploaded my videos over night and that's as far as I've gotten. I don't know how to open the store. There's all this html stuff I have no idea what I"m meant to be typing or what I need to upload to get it working....Categories are the only thing on that page that made sense to me. How do I access my videos to give them names if I can't past opening the store? Totally lost.....

Navigate to home page, click on clip store at the top left, scroll down to clip name>select file, then just choose the video you want to post. Tadaa!

I don't have a store that's the problem. I"m stuck on trying to design it. I don't know what html code to use and what all the big empty text boxes are for. Am I meant to put in a bio or about me here? Are there templates I could find for the html code? What are the specs for the banner and what is is used for? What is stores grouping, and what would you put in the top and bottom html where it says you don't need coding experience?

Honestly you don't need any of that stuff at all. Just a name for your store and 10 live videos.

All the other stuff is just sales, like commercials on tv.

How do you set up a payment method or is this site no good for people in Australia? Also just saw there is no pee allowed.....I thought clips4sale was for fetish stuff yet half the things I want to do aren't allowed...confused!! Can anyone recommend an actual site for selling fetish clips, that actually makes sales? I've tried manyvids, no luck there. Feeling like I wasted all that time uploading last night I can't find my clips and half of them I see now aren't allowed anyway. Faark. Thanks anyway...obviously not the site for me.

Slow down! Pee is allowed. It's in the catagory list. It was against the rules for a while.. im not sure why they changed them. Many of the things arent allowed because of legal issues.
Under "Profile" is where you set up payout info.

If you want to be paid via Wire Transfer, please include your
bank account and routing numbers. There will be a $20.00 fee
per U.S. Wire Transfer and a $45.00 fee per International Wire.
You can not ACH or WIRE payouts to prepaid credit cards. You must enter a valid bank account and routing number for ACH / WIRE Payouts.

Meaning if you're in Australia you wil need to do check most likely. I dont think ACH is an option for aussies.

I get that C4S is a confusing site but before you throw it out take the time to just slow down and learn it. There's a learning curve, but once you get the basics done its simple. THe ladies on this forum are a fantastic resource so you don't have to figure it all out alone.. :)

It wont let me open the store until i put in a payout option the whole thing is greyed out i can't change anything. I'm reading the store instructions and it says no pee/urine then on anyone or consuming...so as long as i'm not giving a golden shower it's fine? I can't even find the link to email support to ask about why i can't open my store or choose a payment method. Not even a google result for what their methods are, how on earth do people use this site?

:( now it says i need my store number to email support no idea what that is or where to find it. I think i'll quit now before I get more frustrated and down about it all. Anyone know where I could find someone to set this all up for me, I don't have money but can trade for videos...Would someone in the user forums be willing to do that?

sounds like you're at step 3
STEP 3 –

Once you have set up your studio and added all required content, either create a support ticket: or send an email to: studiosupport@clips4sale.com. Your studio will be reviewed during our normal studio support hours (studio support - 8am to 8pm EST / 7 days a week).

IMPORTANT: For the first 14 days (once credit card processing has been approved) new stores cannot link out in any way from their studios (banners, text links, e-mail addresses, links/account names for social media, graphics or images with a URL on them including the background graphic). After 14 days you may re-add this information to your studio as long as you have a link back from your website on the exact page you are linking out to on your clip store.
Attatched is where to find support info - scroll to the bottom of any where on the admin page its in the footer.

Also attatched is where to find your store #

EDITD TO ADD: Someone else setting this up for you would mean you would need to trust them with your personal information. Your banking information. I don't think thats a good idea AT ALL.

STEP 1 –

Click on whichever applies to your studio: EDIT CLIP SITE / EDIT VIDEO SITE / EDIT IMAGE SITE

you are starting a Clip Site so click "edit clip site"

The main two things we look for and require that you complete are:

  1. Name your store by giving it a TITLE - You have up to 35 characters for this and please do not use HTML or symbols like: !~`)(><# or all CAPS or any other characters outside the 26 letter alphabet. In addition, you cannot list a .com, .net etc. in the title of your studio. Your website will be blocked if you try to name it with a URL.
So in the images uploaded below you can see the arrow pointing to the title section.
  1. Choose a CATEGORY that best describes the type of content your store will sell. Look through the list of categories and choose the one that works the best for your target customer base.
second image below you can see the catagory I've chosen.

TIP: When adding KEYWORDS – make sure they are relevant to your content and do not spam this section with too many keywords, it will only get you blocked by search engines.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Whatever category you have chosen for your main CATEGORY, you must now add clips and activated them in that category to be properly listed on the website. If you have no clips categorized in the main category you have chosen for your studio your store will not be displayed correctly.

So make sure that your clips are activated in the main catagory to begin with.

Basically that's all you need to do. As rose said already, dont worry about the other stuff.

Search this forum for paypal and you'll find out about how paypals TOS is against the rules, hwo they shut models down and take their money.

Also: if you want to sell videos independtly using dropbox you absolutely can, but how will you generate traffic? The point of using sites like clips4sale is to generate traffic. If you want to generate it as an independant model thats very doable, but you'll need to commit to some way of advertising that - A heavy social media presense, blog or website of your own.

It wont let me change the store name i just put something as a placeholder to save it before now i'm stuck with that store name and description...I just wanted to see what the text looked like...So now i have a crappy name and no way to change it. I still can't find anywhere on the website where it tells you what payment method to use. Check takes 28 days for my bank to clear.

I've tried model centro but the design options are pretty terrible, and even though people are meant to pay to see my content they are all getting it for free...how does that work? why would anyone want to buy my videos when a google search gives them all my shows for free. I guess there's no point even trying to sell anything until you have followers....I have 275. How many followers do you need before you can start getting bookings or having people want to buy your stuff?

At this point you'd need to contact support, which is probably the best thing for you to do at this point. as it says on the store title, right next to where you enter the text "
Choose a unique name for you studio. You can only do this once, please make sure it's spelled correctly and do not use any punctuation. Ex. My Store Title"

As i explained above, payment info is set up under "edit profile" - and as it says at the top of that page:
"Please Note: In an effort to secure your sensitive personal information some fields are no longer editable by you, the producer.
If you are trying to update a field and it is locked, then you must contact studio support to have the information updated.
In addition, any and all payout changes must be done 2 days prior to the end of the month to have the changes reflected on the next payout.
Studio Support Hours: 8am-8pm EST / 7 days a week. Please contact us by phone - Toll Free: 1-855-246-3226 or Direct: 727-498-6509,
or you can visit: http://support.clips4sale.com and we will contact you to assist you with your profile update."

Essentially, they need to do that for you.

Clipsites too are not going to be fast/easy cash. They take time to build up a steady income flow as you build more, add more clips, generate passive income.
You are also probably going to be prepared to learn how to make gifs which you can find tutorials on on this forum.

I need to get going, but i hope i've been able to help a bit. You seem really stressed out :(

Yeah thanks....I guess this whole thing just isn't for me. I'm feeling like a big failure at the moment, it's been building up over the last month of getting less and less viewers and tips. I think i had early success and it's now died off.

Maybe email support then step back tonight and get some perspective... never let camming/clip making successes or failures determine your selfworth. I'm confident you'll be able to find some way to make this work for you when you've been able to step back and get less emotionally involved in it. You're not a failure. Just frazzled.

I would highly recommend you take a night or two to sit down and read through all of the Clips4Sale posts on this forum and look at the site as you go. Diving in headfirst without knowing what you're doing will be overwhelming.

Be prepared to take breaks to do something else. There's gobs of information on here about how to get your store set up. If you can't find what you need, google it and then message support.

Good luck!

Lovelicks69, if you want a step by step guide to give you some guideline on how to open your store, I wrote one:

It's long, about an hour to read, but after that you should know the basics that you were wondering about.

Thanks Sinna, I did try your guide but I still stuffed up making the store. I've given up on videos for now. I'm not good at selling or promoting myself, just trying to figure out how to make a html bio had been challenging enough.

Just in case she doesn't see... @Sinna

Hi, Sinna. I spent hours reading your blog and I must thank you for all the work you've put in that. I am rethinking my approach to c4s based on your ideas. Many of your suggestions are brilliant! Keep up the good work. I wish you lots of creativity and prosperity.
