I've been pretty heavily addicted to CB for the past 6 months or so. It started as a gradual shift from regular porn, which I've been a big fan of since forever and generally thought cam sites didn't make sense because I wouldn't pay for good porn so I definitely wouldn't pay for amateur dildo play. Then one day I turned my camera on and got a nice reaction and it was game over for me.

Anyways, since then I've had a lot of thoughts about the concept as a whole and gone back and forth between feeling like it was a cool community, expression, freedom kinda thing and other times getting stuck on every moral question you can imagine. At this point I think it's overall just a symptom of an unhealthy society, but also a good and necessary step in our evolution. But I don't think about it too much because at the end of the day I'm in love with dozens of beautiful foreign women (half of them probably hate me and the other half have probably never seen me) and it's basically the only thing I find joy in anymore. (although sometimes it's soul crushing misery)

I'd like to create a series of threads with these kinds of questions if Amber approves, which I understand she might not because some of them are uncomfortable. So I'll start with this one to give an example.

Do any models ever feel bad when you think about real sex workers and how a lot of them have very dark situations that put them on that particular path and all of the crap they have to go thru, a lot of them not making much doing it, having drugs pushed on them, giving their boss most of the money, etc., and then there are cam models making tons of money in a nice cushy room and looking down on all the simps cheering them on while having the nerve to glorify sex work and play the role of "brave self expressionist fighting the good fight for all sex workers"?.

And btw, I'm not just a monger who's being a hater. I love everybody, basically. And I think most models are super cool and brave. I just think that's a topic that maybe should be addressed more often in the community, because models, specifically "camgirls" can be a bit of an echo chamber surrounded by groveling yes-men.

I think it's important for cam site members like yourself to keep in mind that many, many women in the sex industry, in whatever capacity, do it by CHOICE. Probably even more so in the camming industry because it's also a creative and performative outlet for many women, that allows them to support themselves, and in some cases even their families, in a way that offers financial independence that more conventional work doesn't offer.

Albeit still stigmatized, sex work has become very much a legitimate profession. Sex Workers are also marketing experts, photographers, video editors, PR reps, counselors, and performers....they have to do all this to ensure their success. Those girls you see at the top of cam sights are more than 'sex workers'....they're at the top because they are also very business savvy.

There are 'dark' situations in every strata of society......your personal secretary can be in a 'dark' situation....your bank teller, your kid's teacher......and while it's admirable and noble to always maintain an awareness around this when dealing with others, you shouldn't keep it from allowing you to enjoy your favorite cam models. Do you have the same concern for the cashier at your local grocery store?

I think you may be trying to make a distinction between sex workers in real life, and those behind the 'safety' of the camera......again....it's all about personal choice (except in extreme cases such as trafficking and substance abuse....etc....). This is not to diminish that the industry can be very dark indeed, but that's where your discernment should come in. Consume ethically.

I think a bigger and more important question you should ask is: is it YOU that looks at cam girls with resentment, holding the judgement that they are somehow spoiled and privileged because they AREN'T in the streets, on drugs, and in a bad situation, and are YOU holding that against them in some way, perhaps resenting their success and that you are a part of it? Do YOU feel bad about supporting the work of your favorite models? I think your question could be a reflection of your own preconceived notions about the camming industry.

None of this means you are a bad person. It's good to question what we consume.......just be adult about it (pun intended 😁).....and understand that women, in ALL occupations, have more power and more choices than you give them credit for, and that EVERYONE is dealing with dark stuff in their personal lives at one point or another, not just sex workers.

Now, if you're feeling like crap every time you go on CB, come to MFC 😁😉.

Seriously though, it can be a very heavy topic, but it doesn't have to be if you maintain the awareness that you are watching consensual adults and that you can always step away from anything making YOU feel uncomfortable.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and it shows. If you want to bring a discussion do some research first before you go speaking so many ignorant comments

because models, specifically "camgirls" can be a bit of an echo chamber surrounded by groveling yes-men.
lol, not really arrogant guys who have no clue what they are talking about, and who base everything off of their own skewed personal bias, and often mental health issues, are a dime a dozen on these forums. It's almost like there's a new one everyday 😆

some men know how to interact with women and are popular, plus have manners. but they get reduced to "yes men" by jealous insecure guys. sad. the insecure male ego sucks. and what you are actually trying to compare are survival sex workers with non survival sex workers, but you are phrasing it as if all cam models are successful cam models, and none are survival sex workers . And quite frankly that is naive, uninformed and very ignorant. toxic masculinity at it's finest. definitely go work on you. don't ecxpect a warm reception when you are so pointed and insulting. what goes around comes around.

This whole post made me laugh because I can just see that banhammer hovering over your head. Who on earth do you think you are?
I wouldn't pay for good porn so I definitely wouldn't pay for amateur dildo play.
Says it all

Sure. Did I feel bad for sweat-shop workers when I worked in retail? Yes. Do I have basic human empathy and the ability to both live my life for my own survival and simultaneously comprehend all the wrongs of the world? Yes. Do you? Not so sure...

Real sex workers.

Lol google the definition of sex work.

FSSW is the term you’re looking for. And while you may think that camming is a cushier/safer option (and it may be in many ways) I also know plenty of fssw and dancers who would never cam due to stigma. They do not want their faces out there. I’ve had conversations with dancers who were like c “At least I don’t fiddle myself with my whole pussy out on the internet”

The term for this kind of thing is whorearchy and we don’t do that here.

Also if you think all camgirls are brave self expressionists fighting the good fight for sex workers you may be mistaken.

Many cam models I know have also done or do other forms of sex work.

Aaand I can’t speak for everyone but I know I’m just a burnt out bitch stuck doing a job I’d like to retire from but can’t because I’m unhireable due to 13 years doing this. I am not trying to express myself, I’m trying to pay my bills. sometimes I get to be creative and that’s cool, often I don’t. I can be all that and still want full decrimalization .

Tell me you don't have a fucking clue, without saying you don't have a fucking clue.

**My emphasis above.

OP i also don't know why you are making the assumption that all cammodels have not done FSSW, porn, or some other form of sex work too, at some point in time. or are also doing that separately professionally right now too. it's not either or lol

I did fssw and stripping in my past, but not any more. i also have a master's degree and worked for many years in social work and health care, did bartending, and hotel work. however i bet none of thats very interesting to you , right? doesn't fit this imaginary narrative of yours. doesn't make me any more or less deserving to success in camming. fucked up to think otherwise.

nothing novel about an addict not owning their addiction and resenting others or a substance for it.

This just happened: So I'm clicking around on a cam site and I go into a room, she's choking herself until she almost passed out (got a site warning for it) and is using a paddle that drills holes in her skin with each slap -- she's not a real sex worker, huh?

There are different forums that would be better for discussing your ambivalence and possible addiction.
Then one day I turned my camera on and got a nice reaction and it was game over for me.
You should think about this. Yes, the connection is a big part of the appeal. But why were you so vulnerable to this, such that you can't get enough of it? Even when apparently you have concerns?
it's basically the only thing I find joy in anymore. (although sometimes it's soul crushing misery)
This is a problem, dude.
I'd like to create a series of threads with these kinds of questions
I can understand having interests in these topics but again, I think you might be posing them on the wrong forum. Your questions sound offensive and I'm not even saying this from a model's perspective, but just a member. (I've gotten criticized for raising "questions" or interests in topics that were off-putting to some people, but your comments go beyond that. They seem to include some resentment and criticism of cam modeling in general). I would advise other forums for exploring whether your use of the CB site is unhealthy and why you're so tangled up in make-believe relationships with "dozens of beautiful foreign women." Like...what's going on in the rest of your life? Maybe that is what you should think about?

I hate to sound harsh here but it’s like the blind leading the blind.

I wish people would just listen and take in the advice that they seek. And put things into respectable context.

It’s fun adult entertainment!

I hate to sound even more harsh but you're criticizing without much substance. You didn't give any opinion on why my replies to the OP were off-base, if that was your view. So you have it figured out and others are "blind" because....wait...why? Let me guess: You've been visiting a cam site for awhile and supporting one or more models? Wow. Me too! (Along with thousands of other members). 😊

You could say, "It's fun adult entertainment" as a reply to many posts and nobody could or would argue with you. But the OP obviously has some issues (or he's just trolling). There have definitely been users who get spun up and confuse entertainment with reality. Or their cam world starts to take on an unhealthy level of importance to them. There are all sorts of weirdos, addicts, and dudes with personality issues sprinkled around on the sites. I can see that even from the limited view of a member and especially from stories I've been told by a couple of models I know well.

I can't speak for Maxi, but I would guess because you have already demonstrated that you are not the best listener or assimilator of new information yourself, due to the badgering of models in the other thread 🤷‍♀️ Which can come across as not having much respect for us either. Fwiw I did think some of your advice on this thread was good though. And maybe this person will listen to you and see you as more like themself, identifiable, and not an evil entitled, rich cam model w a cushy, easy job. So it has the potential to do some good and be helpful imo.

Plus lets be real here, some men only listen and take the information seriously, when it comes from another man.

... cam models making tons of money in a nice cushy room and looking down on all the simps cheering them on while having the nerve to glorify sex work and play the role of "brave self expressionist fighting the good fight for all sex workers"?.

I should have stopped reading at the first line... however. I kept going.... I still struggle to understand the motive of coming to a cam girl forum to diss cam girls.

I will just say - web camming is an option open for everyone - those who work the streets and clubs have chosen to work the streets and clubs. Kudos to them. Whole different can of worms is of course those who are pimped out against their will, that should be a topic for a whole new day. Or is that the fault of cushy cam models too?

If you wanted to continue this game - you could say "those godawful, self entitled social media influencers having fun all day and filming it all for instagram and youtube, they dont ever even have to take their clothes off and they make tons of money. Didnt they ever think that there are cam models out there having to take their clothes off to make the same money. how unfair boohoo.

(I have nothing against social media influencers. Good on them for making bank doing what they do.)

I mean...how is that even relevant? People choose different jobs - so what? Horses for courses, no?

This chap is a nut job look at his opening ramble where a simple introduction is all that is necessary,

"My names Tommy, I originally started camming only a few times for fun on CB as tommygunzx. I'm mostly here to ask the unofficial support forum for help with that account because it supposedly had 14,000 tokens worth of chargebacks, which is impossible because I hadn't even purchased that many tokens and blah blah ya'll don't want to hear it on this thread. But I feel a connection with the atmosphere on CB that I don't find on other sites and I'm interested in doing more streams. I'd appreciate any recommendations of other sites that have the same balance of community-imposed standards for quality while not too uppity, expensive, and basic like jerkmate or livejasmin style sites, but also popular enough for a random straight white guy to get some interest. Or advice on how to get a response from support. I'd much rather them fix my account because I'm in love with at least a dozen models that I can't turn my camera on for, therefore can't try to convince myself they're making faces at me, and therefore unable to enjoy myself at all because who wants to see a beautiful girl get turned on by a smorgasboard of other guys while periodically making eye contact with you... I really planned to make this post brief but idk what's wrong with me"

I ignored his post he is a danger to himself and anyone around him. He should walk round with red cone on his head and a red flag. I really hope the reference to gu** is referece to his arms and not the real thing.

I don’t make assumptions or form opinions on a thread-by-thread basis… @MarieElise nailed it…

Ditto! I’m out of this one… 👌🏻

Same this place is supposed to be fun and a pleasure for me.I'm over having to defend myself, my profession, and my friends/ people I've grown to like, from some of these new/ newish rude members. I'm done giving angry argumentative people attention. Not rewarding for me.

I'm leaning toward a case of multiple personality issues here... @HeadyRaven @tgunzx @GeorgeSpelvin

Do you come to this forum under multiple names just to get a rise out of cam girls? Is that your fetish?

Lol, how do people even find time for this? “Soul crushing misery” “the only thing I have time for anymore”. The fuck? 😂

Tommy Gunn is also the name of Rocky Balboa's opponent in the movie Rocky V.

Is this to me? I'm not anyone else here and I've never even read any posts by the other two people you said.

Maybe I need to read my posts again but I don't think I ever wrote anything on this site that was trying to get a rise out of cam girls. definitely not purposely!

*EDIT - I didn't realize that one of the posters was the OP. Didn't pay attention or look at the name. So obviously I did read this guy's post, since I replied.

But first part is still true - I'm not anyone else on the forum, including the OP of this thread.
