So...
I booked a fetish modeling shoot one month from now. The fetish is super niche and definitely falls into the kinky arena.

If I like doing the work, I'm definitely going to try to pursue more. I'm more interested in doing fetish/kink/bdsm modeling work than doing mainstream porn.

I'm not a cam model, but since I've already considered it in the past, I figure now would be a good time to resume researching and preparing. I basically have the minimum materials required - lots of toys, a personal laptop with a camera, a few cute sexy outfits. Oh and I've already parked my domain name, tumblr url, twitter, and instagram handles for the pseudonym I am (super excited about!) going by.

QUESTIONS
1. For someone who is more interested in fetish work, would it be more helpful to sign up with a different cam site like kink.com? Or could working on a more popular mainstream cam site like myfreecams be an asset in terms of revenue and exposure? My 'look' is girl-next-door, and I might want to just do some regular flirt-and-tease shows that don't involve any kinky undertones or props. If I try both, which one should I start with?

2. Do you think it would be wise to start camming before I do the fetish shoot? Can I sign up for a site like MFC and cam somewhat infrequently when I'm just starting out, or would it be better to spend a lot of time online as a new model (to build a fanbase)?

I'm not sure if I would want this work to be directly linked with my camming work (purchases of the videos wouldn't be direct profit for me, after all), BUT HYPOTHETICALLY I wouldn't be embarrassed if someone in my audience recognized me from what I'm doing next month. Thoughts? Opinions? Are there any red flags I'm overlooking here?

And yes, I vetted the production studio and they're real, ethical smut peddlers with a legitimate business.
They seem like nice people and I've actually watched their videos because they turn me on. I think I'll get genuine pleasure out of the shoots.

No, I have no plans to run for public office :)
