I am sorry to disrupt the obvious arguing/fighting/wwe smackdown: acf edition but I do have one question for the ladies.

Does anyone know if I can sell little trinkets on C4S? You know like panties and socks and mcchickens.
Yes you can.

How would I go about doing that? Can you give me the link to the instructions?
There isnt any instructions for selling goods vs content on there cause it's the same deal. You need to upload a 2 minute vid minimum and set the title and description to say it's for the goods. Then guys buy it from there. The tricky part is taking the listing down before more than 1 person buys that listing, if it's just one item you have that is.

@JerryBoBerry

On the actual production side of things, independent clip models and large porn production companies have very little in common. Think about how much harder it is for us to shoot, edit and distribute content than production companies.

Ditto. Editing is the worst thing ever. not only (for me) does it take longer to edit than it does everything else combined, watching yourself is just awkward. I'm always like "ewww ugh my stomach/leg/whatever looks weird like that".

The most prevalent complaint is how cheap they will set their prices at. The rally cry of hoping prices could be fixed for everyone (silly IMHO), complaints of how cheap they will sell or do something, how it's ruining camming and the site is going down the drain, how it's programming members to be cheaper and cheaper the last few months to year, and that it's these new girls to blame for it all. It's hogwash. There has always been sales, there has always been cheap members and big tipping members, there has always been new girls coming up, and the sites have been around for years so obviously they aren't ruined either. Its just short sided to try to blame someone else cause of how much they are selling something for as to why you're not making as much as you used to cause that member was never gonna tip you anyway. You didnt lose some sale cause you didnt have it to begin with.

I could not agree with this more. There will always be cheap girls, expensive girls, new girls. If there are 100 girls selling a video for $1 today, there were just as many 5 years ago.

Focus on making good content and doing great cam shows. Everything else will sort itself out.

This right here is why I still don't make videos. I loathe watching myself. During live shows, I love it, it honestly turns me on. But sitting down and watching myself recorded makes my stomach churn. Then listening to myself talk, oh hell no. I'm just like, "Ivy, please stop. Just hush."

So much this.
I can't stand the sound of my own voice, it's all deep and midwestern.

I'm sorry but that isn't true. I wasn't around 5 years ago, but even 3 1/2 years there weren't 100 of girls selling videos for <20 tokens/piece, even 2 years ago it was pretty uncommon. I just noticed that one of the top models is selling 60 videos for 333. Maybe 18-24 months ago I paid 1,000 tokens for perhaps a 12 of her videos. Now it may not be exactly an apples to apples comparison, but there is no doubt that price of videos on MFC has plummetted.

Now if that is a good or bad thing, and is there anything that can or should be done about it, are all worthy items to discuss. But it is the internet and things change rapidly. The easiest way to set yourself up for disappointment on camming is to expect you can do the same thing and charge the same prices this year as you did a couple of years before and make the same income.

Oh no she's right. The ratio of girls selling cheap content has not changed really vs girls who are not. The difference is there is just more girls now so you see it more than you used to when you look around. Other girls complained about the cheaper girls just as much then as now too. As far as selling content for the same amounts as back then...um there are girls selling for the exact same today as some were even 6 years ago so not sure where you got that from. No girl is setting herself up for disappointment. How about you let the camgirls who know what they are talking about in their own job and with actual experience dole out the advice instead of you.

Ladies charge what you're comfy with and dont worry about other people and what they would price your stuff. Especially dont let a member tell you what to do.

I disagree with that. I remember many selling for that. While this is not definitive all inclusive proof, I can give you a few examples of what I mean. You see, I keep the videos I buy. Every single one from MFC. So it's easy enough to go my 'mfc' directory and look for a lot of files with the same date, then look up that date (or right around it) to see what I tipped.

Kristy Kalisto - 450 tokens for 27 videos. 16.6 tokens each.

Again, I understand a few examples doesn't 'prove' there were more. But I remember bulk sellers being fairly abundant even back then.

Those videos that she's selling for cheaper could be content she's about to retire, old videos, or hell maybe it's just a slow pay period and she's trying to hit her goal before the end of the month. Yah never know. :wacky:

If you're referring to my post, no. That was their normal prices. I knew all of those models and had visited each for a couple of years or more.

Jerry, I can do the same thing. I haven't kept all of the videos from that era only the good ones. Looking back at my tip notes from that era there were a lot of tips for 100-250 for a video, and IIRC there was an ACF thread and that seemed to be the consensus pricing. I remember being amazed at the 20 videos for 300 tokens deals a few years ago. Now I expect that except for new videos to see a bundle.

I'll also point out that LexiMadison is now offering 45 videos for only 88 tokens, so clearly she has dropped her prices. Ryley had kept the price the same, 550, but doubled the number of videos to 108. Kristy hasn't cammed in a year. So I think that makes my point the video prices have dropped on MFC. All three were fairly popular a few years ago and none are really around anymore so you could make an argument that dropping their price wasn't a good strategy, but clearly they felt like they needed to.

I think what has changed is that even the top models offer bundles. It was quite rare several years ago.
I just checked and 11 of the top 20 model offer bundles (including clubs like JJs) in the 20 token/video range, 3 aren't and the others I wasn't sure about

In my honest opinion it would be the CamScore and how hard it is to bring it back up.I feel that its unfair in the way it works.Because you can be on there work as hard as you can and interacting with the room and its like "oh well you're not getting tipped enough per hour" so you are irrelevant.

I said that I was not going to touch this thread with a 10 foot pole but now I am intrigued. Okay here are some of the things that I would change or at least like to see fixed:

-The freeloader problem. How many of us sit around for hours and never receive a tip? I would put an end to that. I would make it so that each customer has to pay an entry fee to a model's room so that even if he wants to pop and pop out in 2 seconds, the model still gets paid for something. This is a job and we need to stop showing stuff for free. If the damn freeloaders want free shit, go to xtube or youporn or some fucking where else. Also I would put it in place that a grey member cannot sit in a model's room for no more than 30 minutes without tipping. Oh and there should be a cam site with a 80 percent payout. Oh and no more exhibitionist cam shows, there is no way in hell that teenagers or little kids should be on an adult site. We know the aforementioned happens but nobody says anything about it. There should be a group of experienced HTML/Website makers on each cam site for the girls. You know someone there to charge the girls a small fee to create a professional looking website or profile for them because not all of us here are experienced in web design or html or code. I would put safeguards in place so that the site owners cannot steal from the girls anymore. I have worked for companies in phone sex that have stole money or didn't pay girls. I have worked for companies in the cam world who have stole money or didn't pay girls. There are crooks and scam artists all throughout our industry, not just on the mainstream porn side. I am not saying that camgirls need to have a union like the UAW or that we should start protesting for health benefits or hourly wages(although that would be nice!). If anyone would like to go protesting like the fast food workers right now for the $15 per hour pay raise, I support you and I stand with you but that is not what I meant. I have only been camming for less 3 months and I can tell you that this industry needs to be strongly regulated. I am just saying that there should be a blacklist posted online of companies that are shady and sketchy and just plain bad. I heard not too long that there is even a company in the cam world right now that has an 11 percent payout and I was like wtf and I was like this is sketchy and where is the other 89 percent going? I don't know about you but I am not going to sit around and be called the N word all day for 11 percent of nothing. I also think that there should be a blacklist for bad camgirls too. I am talking about the chicks who basically use cam sites to find johns for prostitution. Yes you do have girls who will find members that are located in their city and use the cam sites to set up times to fuck them and that puts a bad name on those of us girls who just want to do our jobs and take care of our families the legal way. Oh and there should definitely be a blacklist for cheapskates and members who scam girls by using Amazon and Fake tokens to get what they want. If a member does the aforementioned on one site, his IP address should be logged and a picture of his ID should be placed into the database for scam artists. Therefore if the same member tries to scam a girl on another site, he won't be able to do so because his information is already within a certain system and the webmasters have been warned beforehand and he can't do it. Also what's wrong with the cam companies paying experienced girls to make how to videos/training tutorials for the new girls who are entering the cam world? We are in an industry where $800 to $1000 a week is promoted highly in camming but half of us girls don't make half of that in a month and the only way that we can even dream of reaching that number is by learning from the professionals. The girls who are making the aforementioned money and a whole lot more money than that. We as cam girls are trying to build a name and a brand in an industry that is on life support if you look at the mainstream side of it at least and we need to learn how to grow our brand and how to market and how to be professional. We might not be working for a place like walmart or a fancy schmancy law firm but this is still a business and we have to attack it aggressively if we want to keep our names out there and continue to provide for ourselves and our loved ones.
