Hi there :) I'm sorry for the vague title, but as it says, I have a few questions. I've been reading the forum and researching models for a few weeks and I have some questions. Hopefully they're appropriate for the general discussion. I can't sign up for the model part quite yet.

1.) I have some scars. I don't mind it (wear with pride!), but how do people react to this? Is it recommended to cover this with make up? Even if I do, a shower/bath show would take it right off. :? I'd like to go in to a little more detail but can't in the open I guess.

2.) I assume a cum show means to masturbate until climax on cam, correct? (I've been watching cams for 2 weeks but never last til cum show countdown finishes). My country has laws against showing full genitalia so even if I wanted to I couldn't show a full shot of the goods like everyone else :crybaby: ... any advice? I've heard of "beautiful agony" browsing this forum, but is it popular?

3.) How exactly does a countdown work?! I see models with countdowns for things, but they get all these tips that seem not to count towards the countdown. I understand if they have a countdown going, but also like a "tip menu/request" thing (e.g. 30 tokens for a spank on MFC), then that 30 token tip will just get the spanks and not count toward the countdown? If members are tipping, do they have to specify that it's for the countdown? Do private tips not count? For "high tipper" does that high tip count towards countdown too? Do members get mad if their tip is counted incorrectly? What if they tip for a request that the model does not want to/can't do (before confirming she'll do it)? Does she still keep the tip?
I guess the whole "how tips count" is the most confusing part to me even after watching the cams for a while...

4.) I noticed a lot of girls on cams swear... a lot. Is it just the rooms I went to or is it really common? I have NO problem with this whatsoever, but I personally don't do it much myself since there's no opportunity. Is it boring or unsexy to not swear? (I feel like this is the stupidest question ever but I noticed a lot of girls do it when climaxing too sooo maybe not doing it makes the girl appear to not be thoroughly enjoying herself...?? I don't know!).

4b.) I'm really interested in "dirty talk". It just seems so fun/sexy. But again I've never had the opportunity in any of my previous or current relationships. Any good resources for learning about that?

5.) Finally, is there a good crash course for sexual things and fetishes.. or common things people might ask for or talk about? Besides just "google".. is there a good, comprehensive resource? I feel like I know nothing. I've only had "real", "penetrative" sex once and I'm not sure if that even counted because it was too big to fit inside of me. Like trying to jam a sausage in a straw. So, I didn't even know what a butt plug is until I went to MFC and saw some girls use it. I'll feel really bad if people ask for stuff and I don't know what they're talking about or constantly have to ask them what to do.

Thanks.. sorry these questions are probably so dumb :woops:

I'll give this a try. :)

1.) I suppose it depends a little on the place and the visibility of your scars. But in the end, I don't think your scars alone would be very detrimental to your income. I'm sure you have lots of other things going for you that the guys will want to focus on.
You can cover them with makeup if it makes you feel more comfortable. But you said you don't mind them, so I wouldn't hide them just for camming.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if light scars sort of fade or even become invisible on cam. You'd be surprised how easily skin can look perfect in Myfreecams' low resolution cam feed ;)

2.) Yes, that's what a cum show means.
There are many ways you can be a cam model without ever showing your genitalia. There are extremely successful models on MFC who never even get entirely nude in public chat. Check out the rooms of Tesla, AustinWhite or Kickaz. They all have different things to offer to their members that keep them coming back. It's a bit different on other camsites, but on MFC it's absolutely possible to be a non-nude or non-explicit model and be successful.
I can only speak for myself, but my Beautiful Agony shows are generally successful. I don't do cum shows in public chat, but I do BA shows, and I guess I make my countdown for those shows about 80-90% of the time. You should give BA a try if you're comfortable masturbating on cam but you can't show your genitalia because of the law.

I guess the whole "how tips count" is the most confusing part to me even after watching the cams for a while...

MFC recently implemented automatic countdowns. That means that a model sets a number for her countdown, and then all visible tips that she gets get subtracted automatically. There are also invisible (so-called "ninja") tips. Those tips are only seen by the model and not by the room. When someone sends a ninja tip, it is assumed that he doesn't want it to count to the countdown. So it doesn't get subtracted automatically. The model can still subtract it manually if she wants to.

As for requests, many models do count tips for requests to their show countdown actually, but that's up to every model to decide if she wants to do that. For example if you have a 1000 tokens countdown to a show right now, and you have "spanks for 30 tokens" in your topic, and someone tips 30, then the countdown goes to 970, and you do the spanks.

If there's an automatic countdown going on (which is the case in the vast majority of rooms, no one likes math :D) then the members don't have to specify that a tip is going towards the countdown, it gets subtraced automatically. Unless it is a ninja tip, like I said before. :)

"For "high tipper" does that high tip count towards countdown too?" Depends on what he tipped for. It always depends on the situation. For example, in my room, tips for requests count towards my naked or show countdowns. If someone tips 400 for 20 spanks for example, and that's the high tip of the night, then his tip counts to the countdown because it was for a request. On the other hand, I don't let tips for my member club count towards the countdown, so if someone tips 3060 to get on level 2 of my club, that won't count towards the countdown.

This is quite a lot to take in I guess.
Generally, I really wouldn't worry about understanding why every single tip in a model's room either counts or doesn't count towards her countdown. Maybe she's sending a member private messages and knows that he doesn't want certain tips of his to go towards a countdown. That's just something between the member and the model. As long as you're always open, honest and transparent about which tips count towards the countdown, you're fine.

4.) The atmosphere in a girl's room is generally very familiar and informal, and so are the words everyone uses.
But. It's entirely up to you how much swearing you feel comfortable with! Members will like you when you're being yourself, and if a loose tongue isn't part of who you are, then that's totally fine. There are many members who are into models with an intellectual/sophisticated persona actually. You're talking about girls who are climaxing, and I'm sure there are just as many guys who like to see (hear) very vocal orgasms as there are guys who prefer quieter, more "intimate" ones.

Never think you absolutely HAVE to do one thing or another to be successful. The only thing you must do is be honest with people about what they can expect, and deliver what you promised. Aside from that you don't have to do x to achieve y.

4b.) I wouldn't try to learn how to dirty talk, because I feel like if you do that it's easy to go after certain formulas and that'll make it not very authentic. When I get asked to do dirty talk during a private, I usually just put into words whatever I'm fantasizing about when I'm masturbating on my own. Works well usually because the guys can tell that I'm actually into this stuff.

However if you want to get some inspiration, listen to other camgirls. If you're OK with spending a little money, visit other girls' group shows or spy on their privates, some get really into dirty talk there. (I don't watch group shows or spy on privates, but I know that I personally am way more open with dirty talk in privates than in public chat.)
You can also watch porn but be aware that dirty talk in mainstream porn comes off as fake and exaggerated in the eyes of many men and women.

5.) You can actually learn sooo much about sexual things and fetishes through camming! Don't worry about not knowing all the abbreviations and terms :D Stay active on this forum, get verified as a model as soon as you can and just read and cam and read and cam. :) 3.5 years after becoming a camgirl I'm still getting to know new fetishes that I didn't know existed on a regular basis. You never stop learning.
I'm sure guys won't mind if you've never heard of fetishes, toys or activities they're talking about. Actually, I've never had anyone get mad or make fun of me when I didn't know what he was talking about at the beginning of my camming career.
Don't worry about that. If anything, the guys will find it endearing, some will want to be the first person you try something with, and guys who are into "innocent" girls will go crazy for you anyway.

Hi there :)

1.) I have some scars. I don't mind it (wear with pride!), but how do people react to this?

On an attractive girl, the scars will be attractive. On an ugly girl, not so much.

There was a woman who posted on r/gonewild a few days back. She had scars all over her torso, and I would have no problem watching her on cam. The scars intrigued me (think she may have been a cutter). I messaged her asking about them, but I never heard back. Guess I should have just sent the Peter North gif.

Wow, thanks for the super-informative, reassuring reply :hello1: ! I'm in the middle of some big life changes now once things settle down with my housing arrangement and such I'll definitely be signing up for the model's part when I have a chance.

1.) Unfortunately the pigmentation in my scars is pretty heavy. Although I didn't want to mention, I suppose for clarity's sake it's best.
They are self-inflicted scars. As I said, they do not bother me at all. I feel pride at overcoming the hardships that led to them. However, I personally feel a bit sad when I see this on other people. Maybe too much empathy? And I know my boyfriend feels really sad when he sees it too. So I'm concerned about the anti-boner qualities of it.

2.) Thank you for the name suggestions! I saw the name AustinWhite pop up in the form before. She's amazing!!!

3.) Ahhh I see. That makes a bit of sense. I'm sure there are parts that will take me some time to catch on, but I don't want to piss anyone off in the process. So if there's common ways of doing things that are generally understood and accepted among the members, that's important for me to know.

4.) Thank you! That's really reassuring. It just makes me feel kind of super sheltered and lame. I wouldn't call myself intellectual or anything. Perhaps oblivious is the most accurate way to say it haha.

4b.) Yeah, I guess "learning it" isn't the right way to put it, and scripted stuff wouldn't interest me either. But (maybe it's kind of selfish) it seems like it would be fun, and if there's a member who would enjoy it too... I want to explore that. I just don't want to be laughed at hahaha! I definitely don't mind supporting other girls ^^ so that's a great suggestion. It's obvious many work so hard, so when I get a better idea of who does what I'll probably do that!

5.) Hmm, I had a feeling that would be so! As I said, I feel quite educated about butt plugs now haha. I may not have much experience, but I am really open to new things (plus I have a really weird, rare, but super-vanilla fetish so I really can't judge anyone!), so as long as starting out at (almost) zero is OK...

Scars wouldnt bother me at all and I dont think most other people would be bothered either. There is a model whos room I visit quite often who has highly visible cutting scars down her arms and legs and no one even mentions it. I've only seen a a couple of trolls try and make an issue about it and they were swiftly banned. So I think you will be fine but just be prepared that sadly on the internet trolls are unavoidable so you will need a thick enough skin to not let them get to you when they do pop up.

People really don't notice or care about scars. I have pretty visible ones from getting a breast reduction, yet people still say that they can't tell that I've had it done. The average member probably won't notice your scars, because he'll be focused on your face or something else. Anyone worth having in your room won't bring it up if they do notice it.

Awesome :-D thank you for the feedback! Well, I'm not worried about mean comments about them or anything (if I was scared of that I wouldn't be considering modeling in the first place) and wouldn't even mind questions if they came up, just worried if it would be some sort of disadvantage. I just remembered seeing various media sources where women thought their surgical or other scars were unattractive and needed to be minimized or hidden. It surprised me since I've never considered them a big deal so just making sure I wasn't a lone weirdo in that ;)

Honestly it's just as possible it could be an advantage. A lot of MFC seems to be about bringing the members in personally by showcasing your performing persona. If anything those scars (if even noticed) may actually better personalize the performer. As you seem to feel and as ZippyPinHead mentioned, I personally feel they add character in some ways.

There is a lot more to MFC then the "stereotypical atractiveness" as seen in various media sources. Everyone's idea of what beauty actually is, is different. It seems to me there is a different niche/girl out there in camland for every member. From what I've seen girls of every type of body type with any type of "flaw" can succeed. What the average person calls a "flaw" is just as easily an attribute or unnoticeable. Sometimes these "flaws" can even be a blessing.

I'm with the others though, I think 99% of customers won't care.
