I just noticed that @MissMFC2011 on Twitter is having an MFC March Madness competition.

The description of this user sounds kinda fishy:
"MFC limited partner providing MFC insights from both an owner's and fan's perspective. Check in for exclusive Twitter contests including MFC March Madness 2011!"

From looking at past tweets, I think this user has been denounced in the past.

Should this sort of activity be actively discouraged, or would it be considered feeding the troll? Is it better for the models to discourage it or should regular users do the same? I imagine it also may cause some twitter cross-traffic for fans of the models that want to vote and potentially for models that also may want to participate.

I don't use Twitter very often, so I'm not familiar with the etiquette of scenarios like this.

Thanks,

It's feeding the troll. He has nothing to do with MFC at all. He is a complete fake. Following him is a waste of time.

(Just saving Amber the trouble of saying this herself)

I can understand ignoring some of the previous tweets that claim to know models or the inner workings of MFC, but this contest encourages user participation. I was wondering if there was way of informing participants about the questionable background of the contest without feeding the troll.

I can see that protesting the contest could be considered feeding the troll - an interesting side question is: are you feeding the troll just by participating?

Even if the contest were legit, I'm not sure that pitting models against each other in a popularity contest would be a good idea anyway.

Thanks,

If you see any of your friends replying to him or following him, just send them a message telling them to block and unfollow. The more followers he gets the more powerful he feels I'm sure.

When the crashes were really bad last month, it was hilarious to see him "predicting" how long the site would be down and giving false reasons for why it was crashed. Unfortunately, I think it fooled a lot of people.
