You just kinda have to accept that it will eventually happen. Just be prepared with the conversation with your family and loved ones. And I find that with randoms, like people from highschool, the absolute best course of action is just ignoring them or give a nonchalant reply. As soon as you engage with them they seem to not let it go and turn into creepers. Ignoring them or replying "yeah...so?" they tend to get bored and leave you alone.
Also with Instagram and Snapchat, make a habit of constantly checking through your suggested friends or accounts that show up that are family/friends and block them, just to be safe. They might might out your a cam model, but at least they don't have exposure to your actual content.
