Hi! I'm creating a frontend automation using a secondary account to send messages like a bot, to make my room more interactive (this is in the Chaturbate sandbox). Additionally, I'm using the bot_v2 from the Chaturbate developer portal for some extra logic.

My question is: Could doing this kind of automation or web scraping get my account banned? I'm just trying to build something a bit more innovative, but I'm afraid of breaking the rules and wasting all the effort.

I appreciate any responses!

So, kind of a Lovense app on steroids? They post tip reactions under the broadcaster name. You could use the overlay system to copy chat and other events to one or more elements on an overlay page and scrape that. Unless you link it through obs nobody will know it is happening without checking your source code.

If you're just reacting to simple tip, join, purchase, and other events it's not much different than apps do now. If you're going to engage with ai conversation that would be a technically interesting thing. But my observation is that most visitors want to chat with the model, not other visitors, bots, or even (especially) mods. What makes good interaction is talking about subjects the model is interested in spiced with supportive remarks and tips, not constant yipping that distracts attention from the model.

But it's your room, your show, and your bot :)

Given that every app is meant to 'enhance an account', this doesn't strike me as a violation. As long as you're not multiplying copies of the bot to boost numbers, which is definitely bannable.

It's going to be depended on what specifically you are trying to do. When in doubt get the answer from the horses mouth and message support.

I understand perfectly. For now, it's not a bot that directly involves the use of conversational AI. And as you mentioned, I'm using events in my frontend to capture public chat messages.
