Should I bother with an external webcam if I have a weak laptop?

I thought about buying the Logitech C920 for better quality, but when I recorded myself with my inbuilt cam and added music through OBS the recording was very laggy.

My laptop specs (it's from acer):
Windows 10 64-bit
Intel Celeron CPU N3060 @ 1.60GHz, 4,0 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics
Storage: 500 GB HDD

Now my question: Can my laptop handle this webcam or should I upgrade my laptop first?
Thanks in advance!

Your computer's rank on the CPU benchmark site is 990. I'm not sure how it would even handle streaming, as that is quite low - it's advised to aim for 5,000 or higher for camming, according to Streamate. I'd definitely recommend upgrading your computer first, then the webcam. You can make a built-in cam work with good lighting, but there's not much to be done about an over-stressed computer.

I thought so. Thank you for your input.

Oh hey, this list with the CPU benchmarks is really helpful, thank you!
