Hey guys, sorry to start a new topic on this but I kind of need all heads in for this. I've never had an issue accessing MFC as a model or on my premium account aside from those dreaded downtimes when we all had issues, but since last night's shitfit, I still can't access MFC. I'll get a variety of things:
  • Site loads. Can see the green theme and it will say "Connecting..." or "Logged in! Seeing who's online..."
  • Favicon loads, but I get ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT and says myfreecams.com took too long to respond.
  • No favicon, but the tab title shows up, though the tab itself stays white.
  • Server Cannot Be Found error
I've tried on both my laptop (my usual--connected via WiFi) and on a desktop that is hardwired. Same nonsense. I've cleared the cache. I've restarted. I've even tried to get google's cache of the site and it's still not working.

Does this sound like some bullshit my ISP could be pulling? Why would it just be MFC and not SM or other porn?

Thanks for any help, y'all. I don't go for rank or anything like that, but the first of the month is usually pretty good to me :(

I remember in the other thread some people were talking technobabble about certain ISPs having some sort of issue where only they couldn't access MFC. Maybe your with one of the affected ISPs which sounds most likely as it happened on both your computers.

If you have a VPN you could try accessing through that.

It sounds like you've taken the basic troubleshooting steps. It's almost certainly not your ISP. A lot of people have been experiencing the same thing. Do you have access to a VPN? If so, try getting to MFC via the VPN when you're experiencing the problem. You'll probably see the same level of response from MFC's servers on the VPN as on your ISP.

I have an Amazon AWS EC2 server (a small cloud-based Windows Server instance) that I keep around for network troubleshooting. You use remote-desktop software to connect to it. It's on the USA east coast, while I am in Texas. Whenever I see MFC responding poorly, I try it from the AWS server, and it's always the same from there, too.

When MFC is not loading, the actual problem usually seems to be with the big part of the page that lists the several hundred (or more) models that are online at any given moment. That's very database intensive process, and the fact that it's responding so slowly suggests to me that there's a recurrent, internal (to MFC) hardware/software/network issue, or that there's a DOS attack from outside of MFC.

Do you have any extensions installed in Chrome or Firefox? AdBlocker, uBlock Origin, Disconnect...

Have you tried opening an incognito window and trying to load mfc from there? (no extensions running that way)

Or from a completely different browser? Maybe install Opera quick and just see if it loads?

@dilligaf0 yeah, I'm in communication with models and members alike and legitimately no one else I've spoken to has had the problem since last night. It came back around 2 AM EST I want to say, and was fine ever since :(

@JerryBoBerry I do have extensions installed--AdBlock Plus, ChromeCast, and some productivity ones. I've tried both my regular window and incognito, on both the desktop/hardwire and my laptop, still no dice. I've tried Firefox as well (Chrome = premium acct/FF = model acct) and neither are working.

@Osmia I spoke with Charter and they say that it's on MFC's end, because everything looks good through my modem and all that. I try to explain that I know for a fact that the site is working for everyone else I know that uses it and they say nope sorry contact them.

Thank y'all for responding to this. I am so over it!!!

I'm having some trouble accessing it right now as well, but I'm on mobile and haven't really attempted to troubleshoot much yet.

This is an indication of issues contacting the initial server that generates the model/friends list(s). While it could be an issue with your ISP (I'll skip the technical parts), it is likely an issue with mfc - right now I'm online, but the room I'm in is having random lag spikes, models are tweeting about having issues getting online...

I still cannot load the MFC home page, my profile, model_admin, ANYTHING. I know that Rae Riley is having the same problem. I tried pretty much everything I can think of (wiped all browser histories, restarted, rebooted router) and nothing is working. I can connect from my phone using a data network but not my wireless network. I'm at my wits end :rage:

Can you access the mfc wiki?

I just want to say that it took them 17 hours to get back to me. I also had a substantial amount of tips lost in limbo during that time. I had to bring up the tips to them, so ladies if you're having trouble maybe check with your regulars in case they're tipping you and you're not receiving the tokens?

It's all fixed now, but it was a very frustrating day. :/

Yeah, that's how I felt for the majority of today! The best suggestion offered was that since I was trying pretty intently to get on at the same time as the problems, maybe they blocked my IP too? It's a computerized system, not manual, so that made sense!

This is the correct action. It is not uncommon when dealing with DDOS situations that some false positive blocks are created.

I was puzzled by Ginny's tweet yesterday. A inadvertent block of a valid IP, like you say,is a good explanation
