Just because it is too funny/tragic to not point this out, look at the most agreed upon post at this time. @Emberblaze, starting member of Undesirables United, as usual pretending to be giving helpful advice. Even after op explained her reasoning. This crab in a bucket has never been helpful.

Okay, sorry for the little bit of reality. I know how much it is hated here. Please return to your fantasy land where this place is helpful for new models and doesn't produce and enable failure, hatred and misery.
Doesn't it seem like Johnny was the one who went into Hannah's room and enabled "failure and misery" on her 1st night, after she put in so much hard work, was so excited to be online for the first time, and all he had to say was negative things like "A girl with poor lighting just met her goal and you didn't. You look like a porn star. Guys aren't going to tip you for all your hard work because they like girls without makeup."

I'm not trying to argue with you are anything. I've just had a few Johnny's in my chatroom over the years and all they do is try to bring me down with back-handed compliments and advice. OP explained her reasoning for trusting him, but it doesn't seem like she has ever met him, and could be going off of the trust of another model who was duped by him as well. It's all too easy to believe a guy on the internet who says he has a model girlfriend he helped take to the top and before you know it he is controlling your show and you realize you never saw a hint of proof from him. Johnny seems toxic. Even you @heybarkeep agreed Hannah looks good in her professional role instead of the gnd he is trying to push on her

It looks pretty. If you like it, leave it. You're the one who has to look at it most often. If you change it to look more casual based on one member, the next dude that comes in will say it looks too plain. Don't chase the men. Let the ones who line up with you find you. That background would probably kill on Clips4Sale if you do domme stuff.

I agree. I've had my fair share of Johnnys, especially in the first few weeks I cammed. All of them promised they could turn me into the most popular cam girl ever if I only followed their advice. They also all claimed to have done this before very successfully and had "references" (one even had video testimonials on his profile).

At the very beginning I listened to a few of them and it is worth noting they all had vastly different visions for my cam girl image and ideas on what "all men like".

Every time it ended badly. One seemed to think any tokens I received as a result of his advice (such as, "have a tip menu") meant I owed him in free shows, clips, and excessive attention despite having initially claimed all his intentions were altruistic. He also enjoyed putting me down a lot and comparing me to other models. Another promised to give me a secret guide to cam success in exchange for a skype show "just to talk and give advice". I naively agreed and he copy and pasted a very poorly written few paragraphs of game ideas (all very very common ones, one I was already using). He got mad when I wanted to read over this advice and discuss it. He claimed I could read it later, and his time would be much better utilized teaching me to strip and cum for him. When I said no, he told me if I used any of the games in his 'guide' he and his friends would destroy my cam girl reputation. Another gave me a copy of what ended up being nearly the exact same 'guide' and then begged me for weeks to make a video testimonial of how he helped me for his profile. Overall, they each rarely ever tipped more than 100 tokens cumulatively, the advice was very rarely helpful, and it made camming an emotionally draining experience. And to top it all off, I still wasn't doing very well.

Things only turned around for me when I just gave up listening to their opinions and found my own groove and rhythms myself based on visions I had for my own image and show ideas. Sure it took a while to build the right audience, but once I did it was worth it.

This is not to say that all advice coming from a human with a penis is bad! I don't think anyone was really saying that here. It just means, there are some guys out there that try prey on new models under the guise of advice and it is important to be able to identify these people. Clearly enough of us cam girls who have been through this experience found enough red flags about Johnny in OPs post to point it out and remind her that she is the one in charge of her business as cam girl, not this Johnny guy and not to be afraid to try it her way. Especially since she is so, so new. And especially especially since the way she wants to do it is so cool and exciting!

I've gotten loads of great advice from cam site members over the years, some of it critical of me, but none of the advice included making me feel like I was less than, made me feel bad for wanting to explore a passion, or suggested that I change every single aspect of my look.

Camming is a very demanding job in terms of emotional labor, I'd advise the OP to be careful who she caters to and how much to avoid burning out before she can even really get started.

yes. added you to bookmarks. ))))

poor John mfcexpert. I assume this was a casual convo. but Do what you want .

i also know the secret to success on mfc... type that you are from canada in your profile . works 60% of the time, every time. ))

Oh princess, it's ok to be jealous people like me more than you. Me and my plush dog are just really, really cute and that's a high standard to live up to.

I mean, the plush dog alone is enough reason to be jealous and then the fact that I just give undeniably delightful advice?

*Skips off to drink her energy drink (aka breakfast) and make mad money to spend on her plush dog*

My cam space is definitely unique. My friend Johnny who has been a tremendous help in giving me advice said I look "too professional" that guys just want to see a girl who doesn't look like she knows what she's doing. He said I look like a "porn star" though I'm not, and guys want to tip girls who look like they need tips.
I understand what he is saying here, but something to keep in mind...MFC seems to be flooded with that type. Not sure if blending in with the charity-case herd would pay off for you or not; but if you want to go that route, don't list your location as UK, Canada or USA, whatever you do.

Would be shortsighted to blame any one thing. So many possible reasons and variables as to why one won't initially achieve what they consider to be success. Inexperience and lack of exposure would be my guess in most situations. "Guys like Johnny" probably aren't a big factor here even if more positive results were achieved. I have such little reason to see Johnny as some evil and manipulative villain. Like I said, seems to mean well. Never claimed it was good advice or that I'd even like the person.

You removed hatred which often results in failure and misery. Some women hate men just like some men hate women. Both often due so as a result of not being as attractive or desirable to the opposite sex as they would like to be. Desirable traits never acquired or fully developed and an inability to adapt and grow is the reason for this result. The species no longer evolves as a result of the hatred and those contaminated by it can only survive surrounded by other infected members of the ecosystem.

I'm not trying to argue with you are anything.

All good even if you were but cool. Always preferred talking over arguing so thanks for doing so.

Johnny is most likely harmless but needs to be painted as a threat because all men are awful. Men are evil and want only to hurt you. That is the main thought process of some here.

Johnny seems toxic.

Toxic huh? haha of course toxic. Every man is toxic.

Even you @heybarkeep agreed Hannah looks good in her professional role instead of the gnd he is trying to push on her

Yeah, looks awesome.

hi, i hesitate to give any comments simply bc 'a mans advice' is typically looked at as "just a wanking wallet" and they "only want one thing" or the old "what do they know" mentality. Man haters are everywhere, lol. While we aren't cam girls [obviously] some of us have been in the production end, studio setups as well as S.O. living together with a camgirl [or even married] longer than a lot of these girls have been out of school, but whatever...

I don't think this is necessarily true. I have no problem taking advice from a man if its helpful/useful advice especially when its something they have personal experience in like lighting or production or editing or something like that- but Johnny wasn't offering any type of useful/constructive criticism.

Just because it is too funny/tragic to not point this out, look at the most agreed upon post at this time. @Emberblaze, starting member of Undesirables United, as usual pretending to be giving helpful advice. Even after op explained her reasoning. This crab in a bucket has never been helpful.

I was the first person to call Johnny out . He is a douchenozzle and @Emberblaze just said what most of us were thinking. Guys like Johnny are a dime a dozen and not worth the models time.

Also if you dislike this place so much, why do you spend so much time here?

Johnny is most likely not harmless. He has this poor girl thinking all her time and energy that she put into making a come back is useless, he has totally mind fucked her. She's considering changing her whole persona and what she wants to do bc of Johnnys comments.

haha she is role-playing that she is viewed as likable to any outside of her safe space.

haha pretending to speak for the group as a defense mechanism, predictable result. The mind will do many things when unwilling to cope with the harshness of reality.

Also if you dislike this place so much, why do you spend so much time here?

I like many of the people here. Also a very unique place. Any other silly assumptions or questions brought on by your feeble coping mechanism?

Really, the best you can come up with is "No one likes you."

You can do better than that sweetie. Try again.

Try what again? Getting you to accept reality? Naw, most likely a lost cause and time poorly spent. Mocking you and explaining why will have far more desirable results.

Oh? And how have you gathered this data about my likeability exactly?

My friend Johnny who has been a tremendous help in giving me advice said I look "too professional" that guys just want to see a girl who doesn't look like she knows what she's doing. He said I look like a "porn star" though I'm not, and guys want to tip girls who look like they need tips. This really is disheartening. I invested so much into this, not only time, but funds. I'm in no way a "pro" I do have a background as a stripper, and am a fetish model so I use those tools when camming. I know how to move my body and talk to people. I'm an artist and trained in aerial arts so I hope to use those skills as well for my shows. I am in no way a "pro cam girl". He said there were girls on last night with new model status well above my rank who have already accomplished their countdowns sitting in a room with no makeup and bad lighting. I was sadly at the bottom of the list. My other girl friend who use to cam said that the Stanley Cup was on and that it was just a slow night.

Johnny was telling you to do what HE likes/wants to watch. While it's a good idea to keep in mind what various types of members enjoy, it's most important to cater to the audience that you want to attract. There's a wide array of successful models, because there are a wide array of member preferences. MFC has everything from chilling in your pj's with no makeup, to full-on greenscreen shows. There is no one right way to cam, and no one way to attract paying members. Imagine how boring it would be if EVERY model was that new, amateur model who "doesn't know what she's doing".

Oh? And how have you gathered this data about my likeability exactly?

By doing the tiniest bit of research. Not living in a harmful safe space probably helped. Why do you dedicate so much of your life toward hating men?

Oh lord :haha:
It's super cute that you think I hate men or exist in a "safe space" you're really reaching over a handful of twitter posts or a blog or two.

@Horny_Hannah I think your friend Johnny might be wrong in what works or not, I am of the opinion that since camming is entertainment almost anything can work, it is just a matter of being able to figure out how to make it work for you. Most of the advice if not all of it that you are going to get from us members about how to cam are going to be crap based on observations made with very little understanding of how and why certain things work. If you want to do something a certain way just do it and if it doesn't end up working figure out why and try to fix it.

haha she is role-playing again. Here in reality, hating men is all she has really done here. Blatantly in hundreds of posts. Under the guise of being helpful, as seen in this thread, in many other posts. For years.

Some here may think this is suffering, no. It is salvation. haha super unoriginal ending in this post but it was a great movie. Sticks with ya for a bit.

hmmm... okay good advice. Not too sure how to work that if the first thing off is my bra, what could be reached first. Not too sure what I could do other than be more covered and make it a smaller goal of say 500 tokens or 400 even?

Thank you for your advice. :h:

First off, I love your look! I love pinup and you pull it off so well!

I am pretty much the "girl next door" type and I still had to start off with my counts cut in half of what I wanted. Once you snag yourself a few loyal followers then you gradually bring up your prices. More demand, higher countdowns.

You don't have to wear more to break up the count down. Throw an action in there as well. Like 500 tokens till a sexy dance or sensual tease. Then 500 till bra. The idea is to draw in more members and hope some will stay in anticipation to get your bra off. Try not to feel discouraged when a lot leave when the mini show ends. Many skip threw cams and only stay when something is happening. But so long as you are doing what you want and what you are confident in doing you will eventually draw in the crowd you are looking for.

It has been said before in this thread but the girl next door type is what's mainly on MFC but that does not make it the most successful choice for everyone. What your friend failed to tell you is that just as many of those no makeup girl next door girls are struggling on MFC. Camming is a highly saturated business and girl next door is highly saturated on MFC so even if you cave and give up your niche before you really start, there is no guarantee you'll be successful that way. Members like helping girls who "look like they need help" but not if they are sad or unhappy about it. Your set up is beautiful and you are gorgeous. IMO you should put the time into building what you want before you start catering to an over saturated group that doesn't fit you. Kins has already listed a model who does very well in what you'd like to go for. Others have had success with out the girl next door type so why can't you. :h: go for it and I can't wait to see everything pick up for you.

Why you always gotta hi jack the threads with your argumentative "woman hating" non sense? You complain that all the women here just hate on men while simultaneously hating on all the women here. And bring no helpful info to this thread. It's the pot calling the kettle black. Not everything is a fight. Chilllllll out!

All that has been said here is the truth. The opinion of one "johnny" should not be the end all advice on how to cam. Just cause he likes girls that way does not in ANY sense mean every guy does. Hence making him not very useful aka a douche nozzle. :)

Ps Hannah I also think your set up is amazing and don't really think this johnny person knows wtf they are talking about.

There isn't one "right way" to do any site. Mfc sm doesn't really matter. Not everyone will like your style but some really really will. That's why so many different types of women can successfully cam.

Id give it some time. The Stanley cup was on and like everyone (at least here in canada) watches that lol.

I have never perceived her as hating on men, but you seem to be trying to pick a fight for some reason when there isn't any need to.

Why you always gotta hi jack the threads with your argumentative "woman hating" non sense?
Yeah the posts made in here were unnecessary, and a distraction to the actual topic which I think is an important one. Gonna have to start being more liberal with the use of reply bans. Or people could, you know, be more mindful of their posts so I don't have to remove ability to reply in order to keep a thread on subject.

Girl, you'd probably do great on streamate. They eat that pinup shit up.

This was one of my first thoughts too. Just from this one picture, I thought oh wow this could be an SM bio pic! Guys would eat this up and definitely click into her room!

Hannah you are gorgeous and this has been brought up over and over, but that set up is killer. I could also see this working well with clips!

I know you said SM wasn’t your vibe, but if you decide to maybe give it another shot and are verified, come over to MO and swing into the SM section. We’ll get you set up girl! You mentioned an aerial hoop and I can see that being a fun Gold Show.

Edit-
Just my opinion, but I also have a feeling your image has the the potential to do well with above mid mark rates on SM. This is just one model to another!

I think you are absolutely beautiful and your set up looks amazing. I think you should be true to what YOU want, because there will always be some random guy to tell you to do the opposite of what you're doing. I come from the strip club world too, so I know it's easy to get very discouraged with camming as you can't exactly expect stripping money right away. However with consistent hours and just staying on cam (sm anyway not sure about mfc) you can build up loyal regulars and good customers. It will be worth it just takes waaaaaayyy longer to build up clientele than the immediate gratification of stripping but I think there's way more room to grow in camming. Plus less of a physical toll on the body. Don't give up! Building a business is hard but gratifying. I would definitely suggest that you try clip making I think you have a great look for domme stuff. Good luck!!

First off, your set up is fucking goooorgeous. Oh. My. God. It is beautiful and magical and alluring, and you look like a sensual siren in the middle of it all! Professional, yes. But perfect.

Also, I want to agree with the other models! I would take your friend's advice with a grain of salt. It is suuuuuper common for members to find a new model and try to "help" them, but often, it isn't the beeeeest advice. Sure, there is a huge market for amateur girls, but there is also a market for super creative shows. And your friend might be letting his own bias do the talking, which happens sometimes. The point is, every dude wants something different. If you ask ten different guys what they prefer in a cam model, you will probably get ten vastly different responses. Some prefer amateur, others professional. Some prefer chill hangouts, others elaborate shows. Some young, some like the more mature models. Some like curves, others like slender body types. Some like explicit, others tease. Everyone has a different preference, and it isn't unusual for member advice towards new models to reflect their preferences, intentional or not.

So take his opinion with a huge grain of salt - and don't change yourself for him. It takes time to build up a following, and allow people to discover you. But I hear over and over again how members enjoy authenticity - and it can be so draining and boring to be someone you aren't. If you are a creative, sensual tease model, then keep it up. Experiment with different shows. Log on as much as you can to gain as much exposure as possible, so the people who appreciate your style will find you. There seems to be a market for every style on cam sites - the hard part is putting yourself out there, over and over again, until your regulars find you!

It could have been an off night. And things like sports can definitely affect a turnout! People might be trying to learn more about you before being comfy enough to open up - but it can take time to build up a super chatty community of regulars. One off night, or even an off week, isn't necessarily enough time to judge whether major changes are needed, or if minor tweaks (such as goal pricing) might be enough to get the ball rolling!

I think your setup and ideas are awesome, and I really look forward to seeing your work on the site! But, full disclosure, I really enjoy watching creative tease shows, so feel free to take this opinion with a grain of salt too. ^_^

Good luck!

This is fantastic advice. I really appreciate your encouragement and compliments. Thank you so very much. :h:

I actually tried SM before. I never could make gold shows happen. What is MO?

Thanks so much for your advice maybe Ill try SM in the future but really love how interactive MFC is.

I'm new to making vids. I have some on my MFC page, they are explicit, which is the only place you can see my explicit stuff at the moment. Trying to keep it clean-ish in public chat.
