Trying to be more vocal in my room!

Hey, guys!! New here, so I don't have Model status yet but I am needing some suggestions.

I'm a somewhat introverted person when it comes to my thoughts and such and I find it so hard to keep my room fun and active. Most models suggest to talk outloud, but no one is ever talking in my chatroom almost ever. So what do I talk about? Do I just talk to myself? If I should just talk to myself, what do I say, lol? I guess I'm kinda scared of looking crazy by talking to myself.

Anyone have any input or suggestions on how to break the ice with myself? haha

I'm the same way! I've just been trying to talk about what I plan on doing today, what I did yesterday, I've been thinking about just reading literotica out loud to help me become more confident and learn more dirty talking. But I also don't want to steal anyone's work by reading it out loud. Today I made up a sexy wet dream and talked about that to try and get my room going. Other than that I just talk about my 3 cats

I fake conversations so I look more active and engaging.

Like, I'll come up with innocuous, maybe sometimes flirty questions and I'll read them aloud in chat--as I do for like, most questions/comments I interact with--and I'll answer them as though they were pm'd to me or they came from another site I'm splitcamming with or something. I go for a mix of lighthearted, trivial stuff and actual relevant to my countdown stuff, e.g. 'can you stand up and spank your ass' gets 'my full tip menu's up in my whiteboard but spanks are [whatever amount of] tokens'. It seems to work to generate 'huh, I wanna see what's on that whiteboard...' interest in the actual members present, at least sometimes.

I fake conversations about shopping too, as though there's someone else like, talking to me in pm's and giving their input on whatever we're shopping together for. With the shopping approach I've found that members sometimes jump in because they want to give their opinion on whatever product or item, and tadaaa, ice broken and dialogue opened. I continue to pepper in fake responses to the imaginary member even once actual members have joined in. Gotta make my ruse look authentic.

I also watch and listen to entertaining content like stand up and cooking shows where things go terribly wrong so I'm laughing, gasping in horror/delight, reacting to the content with visible emotion. Which is a challenge for me, I have Resting Exhausted Face, I gotta stay on top of that lmao.

Re: reading literotica/smut/whathaveyou, I don't think it's stealing anyone's work to read stuff aloud to entertain your room as long as you're not like, claiming you wrote it. I write smut and I tell my custies about it so it's not a huge leap to be like 'alright friends we're gonna check out some other people's work today, we're gonna see if we can't find ourselves something fun'. Gonna take my room with me on my smut-finding journey.

TL;DR: Talking to yourself on cam is great. I worry about looking crazy too so I compensate by committing really really hard to all the ruses I have going. Which sounds slightly more crazy. But hell, if it works it works, y'know? Gotta fake my way into looking comfy.

I am in a similar situation. Extremely introverted IRL.
What I have been doing is just bringing up random topics. Really anything that comes to mind.
Also one way to get people chatting is greeting them when they come into your room. This approach has worked wonders. Tell someone you really like their name and then maybe ask how they came up with the name. By doing this ive gotten people to stay in my room and even tip!

I talk to myself all the time in chat!! lol Sometimes, putting some kind of odd question in my room topic helps. The other night, I put up there about putting ranch dressing on pizza and that stirred things up a bit. I sang quite a bit in the beginning to kinda get myself opened up to using my voice. Don't worry about looking crazy. Nothing about being a cam model is normal whatsoever so just embrace it!

i've been thinking about this a lot lately. if people have started talking but it's quiet, i'll ask what time it is for people, how their day was.

i'm trying to get myself to break the habit of looking at my phone a lot, to be honest. recently i scrolled through lingerie sites on my laptop and that helps me rant/talk about lingerie, lol.

If nobody is talking, I just think of the conversations I normally have with guys and improvise it with myself. Simple stuff but with a sexy edge! I just share true stories or fantasies I have so it’s easy and authentic to me.

I looked at my rate so far and I haven't done that badly tbh mostly just live I made close to 900 in a month and I went days without working at all. So I guess not bad. today is a good day I just need to save more and be consistent on here everyday. I get bored so easily or someone asks a question who pays me money but is out of my boundaries and I close the chat. I need to handle things a little better.

I usually either look through stores and talk about different things that I'm planning on getting or asking if they have a preference between toys or apparel. I also read somewhere to keep a few books nearby in the background on subjects you are interested in to help keep conversations going.

I used to feel really weird about talking to myself on cam (even though I literally have talked to myself out loud my entire life). I think I mostly felt strange when I would first log on and feel this pressure to be super engaging right off the bat even though it is usually quite a bit of time before members start to pop in. What helped me was talking about anything I was adding to Share/changes to WB/topic for day/etc while I am doing it on cam. That way I don't feel like I am stretching to make convo and it is practice for how I'll sell it when members are in and asking.

After that I try to talk about how my morning went, dreams I had, articles I saw. I used to keep a little post it note of things to chat about so I would not panic and forget. Lol.

The more you do it, the easier it gets! And like others said, you can always pretend you are answering pm's out loud.

I played this game with a model I follow since a long time.
I connected often while working at home and couldn't talk too much.
So I told her when it was too calm, 'use me when you want as an imaginary friend', and tipped regularly.
She fainted answering to tip notes : )
