I noticed @AmberCutie had trouble retweeting a nude photo from some other account a few days ago. Same thing happened today.

Long story short, without all the screenshots of the tests included, twitter is definitely not allowing nude photos to be retweeted. They are using some nudity detecting software. You can still retweet your own nude photos, just not from other accounts.

Also older retweets still seem to show up fine, they are just applying it to new retweets. And non nude photos from those same 'adult' accounts do retweet normally.

This seems to only apply to twitter homepage and tweetdeck (also owned by twitter). The nude retweets do show up in Tweetcaster app according to a friend of mine.

Just checked this out, this is only happening when you quote tweets, not when you do standard retweets. So normal retweeting is entirely unaffected.

I don't too much dick around with twitter. One thing about the censoring though.

Right around the time the whole Milo Yiannopoulos episode was in the news, I reported a twitter account I ran across that had several months worth of bestiality posts.

Bemused detachment. That's where I'm at with twitter censorship right now.

Did they suspend the account you reported?

Hmmm, maybe some general sex worker accounts are flagged and mine was one of them but I can't quote retweet ANY pictures and have them show up lately- not just nude stuff.

I havent paid close attention to this bug, but I've seen it happening on non-SW accounts quote-retweeting stuff also.

are you sure your not being effected by the DDOS that has been around for the last couple of days?
I ran several retweet tests, from various accounts; adult in nature and 100% G-rated. I tried retweeting nudity and a puppy picture from the adult one. And I'm not the only one noticing it. The same, very specific censoring, has been noticed by at least 7 camgirls and 3 other friends on twitter.

One of the retweet tests the nude photo showed up in tweetdeck for all of a few seconds, then changed to 'unavailable.' So the picture is getting through, just being censored at some point. A picture showing bare breasts was censored, but an immediate retweet after that showing a dog from the same account made it through. I also confirmed that the same picture AmberCutie had trouble with was also censored by me retweeting.

Yes, I'm fairly sure this has nothing to do with DDOS.

Originally when I started this thread I was going to go into much greater detail, but then thought it was too boring going through every step I did to narrow it down. So I deleted that and put the much shorter version you see now.
Pretend you're reading two pages of explanation to go along with all these screen shots I originally took and you'll get the idea.

@JerryBoBerry this is weird behavior for a company. Why are they not allowing retweets when they allow the original content to be posted? Companies do random stuff sometimes though, like Tumblr not allowing porn except for all the porn they do allow of course.

Very true, it's weird. Hoping it's just a glitch somehow. But on the face of it, it seems a lot like they are censoring.

The only thing I can think is, if you yourself follow a timeline that posts nudity, you know it. It's your choice. But by retweeting nudity you are forcing all of your followers to see it on their timeline. They may not wish to see it.

I normally don't post nude photos. So it's fair to say many of my followers would not expect that, and may not wish to see it. So if I occasionally retweeted a legs spread wide close up of a vagina, some would find that offensive.

Censoring nudity from being retweeted would stop that from happening.

So I can see a reason for them doing it.

But you can retweet it... you just can't quote tweet it, lol. So, it still exposes your followers to it, just without your comment attached. THAT part makes no sense.

I don't get that either. Like i said, hoping this is just a glitch that clears up soon.

Twitter doesn't tell you the outcome of your report like facebook does?

I regularly go through my followers and report anyone with a dick avatar picture, because nudity in avatars is against the rules and I don't wanna see it. This is all I hear from Twitter about it, but they usually make them take the dick pics down:
