I don't see others as competition for clips, as much as I see them as an indicator of how frequently to upload in a category.
On Clips4sale, a lot of customers go to their fetish page, check the new upload list, and that's as far as they dig for new porn, so, with that in mind, I build my filming/updating schedule around that list.
Visual Aid time!
This is the "front page" of financial domination. There's a scrolling section at the top that shows the 24 most recently added clips - a weird number, I know, but that's how far down the list it goes. Below that, you have a list of the 60 most recent clips, broken into two columns of 30. Ideally, I would want to stay on that scrolling section at the top, because it gives people a visual of the clip. Since the 23rd clip in the list was added on June 13 and it's currently June 14, this means that I should shoot for a findom clip every other day to stay on this list. That's a ton of findom, which sounds a little exhausting. If I want to aim just to stay on the front page of the category, however, that gives me some more time, as the updates go back to June 10, so I would want to update the category every 4 days, which will be 1-2 times a week, which sounds much more doable.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have the Losing Weight category. Clip #24 was added on April 10th of last year. If I wanted to, I could add one clip a year in this category and still stay in the top scroll bar. In fact, since the front page list dates all the way back to 2014, I could add one clip every three years and still stay on the category front page. However, knowing that people who are into seeing someone lose/gain weight are more likely to want more frequent updates, I would probably update monthly, or weekly if there's enough difference week to week.
Side note, I also love scrolling through categories I'm interested in filming in and seeing how many ladies I know who have also filmed in that category.
