I know this works with carpet, but I'm not positive about bedding. Try putting a paper bag over it and iron on top of the paper bag. It should help 'lift' the wax to the surface.

I've heard that with one variation; putting a sheet of paper towel down first, then the paper bag. The paper towel absorbs the wax faster, and more of it. Never compared so it may not make much difference.

Be sure to use the iron on its lowest setting and not for long at a time. Just long enough to blot the wax into the paper towel. The water in a pot doesn't even have to be boiling. Most wax melts under 154 degrees Fahrenheit. The carpet itself may be damaged if you get it too hot. Some melt around 300 degrees, but olefin fibers melt as low as 225 degrees. And they can get damaged at lower temps. So depending on what carpet you have you may not want the water at boiling temps.
