About these new Twitter polls...

they are the root of a huge new annoyance.

Models Tweeting a polls like these multiple times a week:

"I'm in a crappy mood but if I get online tonight will you come to my room?"
1: Yeah!
2. No, you suck.

"If I log on tonight will anyone tip me?"
1. Of course!
2. No, I'm broke.

It would be one thing to make these polls as just a silly joke and then be like "Haha just kidding I'm logging in now!"
But...then girls be like "Oh man these results are so pathetic I guess you guys don't care"

This is driving me fucking batshit.

Because first of all depending on how you run your Twitter it is very, very possible that at least 50% of your followers have never even been on the camsite you work or ever will. Which sucks but that is just the way the social media cookie can crumble. You are basing your work schedule around the votes of people that are not customers and maybe have no idea what you are even talking about.

Second of all, by giving these "Haha no you suck and I'm broke" answers....people are probably thinking this poll isn't important and are going to choose these answers for shits and giggles.

Girl, just sign the fuck online and don't let these random Twitterers decide your fate. You are your own boss and YOU. CAN. DO IT!

Please make it stop. :arghh:

I agree totally!

Related but also separate, seeing models say "wow....guess you guys don't care" or "I must look super ugly tonight because nobody tipped". I understand the frustration and thinking those things, but advertising them just comes across as fishing for reassurance & seems like an unfair thing to put on your members. Like, I get it, but I always wanna be like "girl, chill!" it just seems rude to any members that DID tip and I can't imagine any other kind of performer doing that. In my opinion that's better saved for a rant between your girlfriends .

As a fair warning to whoever tweets out such stuff, i've seen it lead to some mean spirited responses. Like it's a way to set yourself up for trolling.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Girls who claim their lack of success on a site is due to them being fat/overweight. When THEY ARE NOT EVEN FAT. I completely understand feeling self conscious and less-than-happy with your bod but when you say "well I'm not doing well because I'm fat" what you're doing is basically slapping actual fat models in the face.

I am fat. I don't deny that one bit. I love my body! But seeing a thin model claim that her lack of success is due to her being fat is infuriating.

I've seen some of this going on recently and it didn't sit well with me either. Regardless of whether the person complaining about being "too fat" is overweight or not, there's an implication there that plus-sized models can't be successful, which just isn't true. It's like accidental fat-shaming borne of low self esteem or something.

^^
I think it's a lack of tact maybe and not cool because of how it can come across. But I think it falls in line with the change of members/fan that comes along with any change in appearance. If someone super skinny gains 5-10lbs they will lose people who just liked the super skinny look. And vice-versa. Saying it's because "they're fat" is lame, but it's probably rooted in that. And the shift in members that comes with physical changes.

I'm a small person but my weight has always fluctuated about 10lbs or so and it's always noticeable on me. I go nuts when I get the "at least you're not like a size 2 skinny model" and I want to scream because I do have clothing in a range of sizes from 2-6 dammit haha. I have been that small at times in the last few years...So are these people going to stop liking me if I lose 10 lbs in a couple months? It's stressful in either direction if you let it get to you. Probably people just not thinking before they "vent" or whatever.

Semi-related but I'll often talk about how I'm lazy and need to go to the gym more...not fishing for like compliments... just because I never go to the gym as much as I want to. Or how spaghetti goes straight to my boobs... because for me it does! haha my titties are high carbs lol. The first place I lose and gain lose/weight is my face/butt/boobs so I feel like I have these kinds of topics come up often in chat. Especially while I'm trying to take clothes off. Half my bras never fit me right etc etc etc

Ummmm.... I don't remember my point but don't want to erase this?? :bored: rambles rambles rambles

I don't think the models are intentionally trying to "fat shame" anyone but like LuckySmiles said, guys get used to how girls look so in their own mind if they put on those 10-15lbs guys won't like them anymore. I have a friend that cams, not on mfc but another site (SUPER fit chick, does bodybuilding competitions) and guys expect her to be ripped so if she puts on some weight which competitors do in the off season to gain muscle, she loses some customers since she is usually really lean and they expect her to be like that. She will have a 6 pack and consider herself fat because she doesn't have veins in her abs lol

@anon_imgone yeah that's what I meant haha. I don't see it as that big a deal, or putting anyone else down. There's a better way to say it maybe, but it's also partly true. Everyone here knows if you change part of your appearance you'll lose the people who feel you don't fit their fantasy, and *hopefully* eventually gain other people who do. Some models might not have that foresight and just blame the downtime in between on weight gain, and they're likely right. No different than complaining about losing members who didn't like a boob job or something. Doesn't really matter long term if you're a good model anyway, just an unnecessary rant I guess.

I feel like models who say that (at least the one @housewifeswag is talking about) are not thinking about putting anybody down, they just say that for pity tips, hoping somebody will feel sorry for them and help them raise their self confidence with a big tip. Which happens very often, I must say. It might be a shitty strategy of getting $$$ but it works. Obviously it's exactly like slapping actual fat models in a face, but unintentional. Which does not make it in any way better, and I think it would be ok to point that out to them.

It's like somebody saying "I'm too tall/short/pale/whatever for camming". There are taller/shorter/more pale models than you. Are you saying they can't be successful? Stop putting other models down by making up excuses for your slow days.

I guess I'm missing something because I don't know who or what the exact situation this is about or the insult. I'm thinking of it more like someone with super long hair having several high tippers who were very into their long hair. If that girl chops all her hair off, and quickly loses those people, and whines about it... I don't see that as insulting to short haired models? Or implying shot haired people can't be successful... or even making excuses for the loss of some of their people. Just being whiney over real consequences of change.

Also I've just lost some weight and will go for a bit more... hope no one gets turned off! Haha. But don't care if they do. So this kind of thing is fresh in my mind. Sorry for derailing

I think the difference is that it's not always girls gaining weight after already being established, but rather new girls not being immediately successful and saying "is it because I'm fat?!?" At least that's how I interpreted it and that's something I've seen quite a bit.

Also I think it doesn't need to be a comparison like preferring thinner or bigger girls. Everyone has a different preferences for themselves & who they're attracted to, it doesn't really matter on a personal level, I just think it's shitty for camgirls to imply there's no way you could be successful if you're fat.

It's more like long-time models who haven't changed visibly in years (maybe they notice it but viewers don't) blame having a bad day on being fat.

I think it's mostly the way in which the complaints are being made. "Only made a few hundred tokens today. Clearly I'm too fat to cam :(" sends a completely different message than "Kinda sucks that putting on a few pounds means losing so many members" for example. And I think the former is always gonna be even more irksome when the model in question is not, by any sensible metric, "fat".

On the current subject:

Do I believe that traditionally beautiful*, thinner, youthful models have a benefit in this industry? Yes. They have sort of cornered the market as they have the widest audience by being appealing to the general population. It is very likely that they will have an easier time finding success in the camming world. That does NOT mean they don't work hard for it, but I believe starting off with a lot of plusses on your side of the equation result in higher likelihood of success.

Now, that does NOT mean that anyone who isn't "traditionally beautiful, thinner, youthful" can't be successful. There are thousands of models as proof of that. Sometimes the effort to keep up may be more difficult, or they may find it easier to keep up if they have some sort of popular niche they fulfill, but they can rule the ranks as well.

A model of any look or body type will have bad days, and it feels better to have something to blame it on. We all do it. We all have our moments. I do think if it's constant, though, it's an issue. If a model is finding excuses for not making her goals or being at the success level she wants to, day in, day out, then it's problematic and a sign that a greater conflict exists. And while I don't wholeheartedly feel it's a purposeful insult against others (in this situation, a girl calling herself "fat" when she doesn't fit the normal weight range considered to be "fat"), it probably is something better left unsaid. And if it IS used as a means of getting pity tokens, it does sort of have a shamey feel to others, so that's bad, mkay.

*Please note I am using the most generic sense of this term to mean what is actively portrayed in all media on celebrities, runway models, etc.

I would just like to add:
Some girls have genuine body issues and eating disorders. Not every girl who talks about how they feel fat is doing it for attention/money. They might actually feel like they can't succeed because of their weight in more than just the camming aspect of their life.

Really wish we still had that 2 cents smiley. XD

Whether or not it comes from a place of rudeness or self-loathing or pity tip weaseling, it's just... ignorant. It takes maybe two minutes poking around various cam sites to see that there are larger successful girls. It is completely unprofessional to put it out there. It's unacceptable to ignore the success of other women because you're having a bad day imo. The take away from amateur porn and from camgirls in general should be that all women are pretty much seen as attractive. Pity tips is also kind of a grody path to take and not very sustainable.

Somewhat relevant to this discussion: I had someone harassing me on Instagram a while back asking how well I do on Streammate "because I don't see many normal women on camsites who aren't like supermodels".

You obviously have not seriously looked around at different models on ANY site if you think that's the case. It's not hard to click the "BBW" section, or search that, and pop into a couple model's rooms to get an idea of how busy they are.

I was in a models room as guest few nights ago and her room helper or someone there who was posting things was her boyfriend (she informed the room about it that so and so is her boyfriend) - the boyfriend greeted everyone who came into the room and it was sort of nice and friendly (he tried and it was cool) but it was also awkward...then the model started a raffle for only 5 tokens a draw and few people participated then guess who wins..her boyfriend!
the small group dispersed soon after making excuses or just going poof and it was just her and her boyfriend in her room...it was a small room that had potential but shining all this attention on boyfriend made people feel like they are not needed there lol

then the model started a raffle for only 5 tokens a draw and few people participated then guess who wins..her boyfriend!
That should never happen. Shame on her!

Right. You should act the least like a real human being as possible at all times.

Never let them see you breath girl. Never. #profits

Damn, you guys need to lighten up. If you think you'll make people want to pay you for being negative, you're wrong.
Yes, when I cam I will pretend to be as happy/upbeat as possible. Being sad is acceptable as long as it isn't done along with complaining directly about tips. What a turn off.

Oh were agreeing with you. Fake it till you have a breakdown is the only way to cam.

If you need a break, you take one. No one is forcing you to do anything and that is just MY motto.
If you disagree, that's fine. There is no need to be passively hostile.

passively hostile.

I don't think that means what you think it means.

But regardless we're joking around and maybe you're the one who needs to lighten up about it. The whole complaining on cam or being sad all the way to being demanding and mean is actually part of some girls shtick. It brings them bank. So to say camgirls should "NEVER" do it is quiet naive. It may not be your thing and that's cool but don't tell others what they do is losing them profits when it doesn't.

I never stated it was a fact that negative attitude = loss of profits. It's an opinion and if you really feel the need to debate opinions (which is pointless) you need to grow up. I'm not here to start a debate or take things personally, yet you seem like you are.
Who said I was telling others what to do? Lol please stop.

You never stated that? What's the quote above then? Oh look it's you stating that attitude effects profits AND telling girls what not to do. Whether you intended for it to be a fact or opinion is moot and Im not trying to debate you on it cause there is no debate to be had. I informed you that what you said just isn't true and that's that. If you're not mature enough to get that then so be it, not my bag of fucking monkeys, but that doesnt mean i'm taking anything personally. Im not sure where you even pulled that out of since you're the one who's overreacting to jokes. Geez. Panties in a bunch much? Take a damn joke child.
