Thank you FairyNymph for this post. I had a negative experience as a new model during my first week. I got trolled. I was stupid :( because this Premium member convinced me he works helping models -I gave him a skype show for free and he put me in the Lounge area that day, but ever since he keeps stalking me on skype and mfc and telling me what to do. He also told me that he wants to book an airplane ticket for me.. obviously interested in sex - I told him a big "NOOO" -now every time I get to my room hes there stalking and I think I'm blocking him.. Girls, help me please... I've been very naive, trolled and stupid :(

Good grief, why haven't you already banned/blocked this guy?

It really isn't any of my business, but if you're comfortable with it, what was the Members name? If you want to private message me instead you can, but I'm curious if it's the same guy, because I have had several models come to me with issues regarding the same Member who's been trying to get free shit from new models.

I do like getting advice from the member's point of view sometimes (countdown ideas, games, etc). It helped me get a sense for what viewers like to see, but it has to be taken lightly. When the member starts to try "molding" or manipulating me to his personal tastes is when it goes too far. I just trust my instincts and politely draw the line if its not a direction I want to go. Sometimes I feel an awkward possessiveness from these types of members. I'm not sure if its intentional or not, but I feel they'll try to keep me from getting too popular with others. I'm not sure how to get past that.. :cyclops:

Personally I don't know why anyone would want to be room helper.... I would rather just enjoy the model, and let her make the decisions about what is best, helpers inevitably get things wrong.

If I offer advice it is usually about framing (the floating head thing low on cam is common), or an angle change (I like smooth graceful curves visually). I guess for the most part it is based on personal taste (you often hear advice on the right sound, music, chat style).
Of course on the flip side the members taste is for that particular type of model, it is likely other members who like that same model will want similar things i.e offer the same type of advice if asked.

I added him as a friend on that first day so i guess I can look for him somewhere on the cam app or on my account. I am still kinda rusty and not so familiarized yet managing profile and cam app details I am still learning that. I will let u know his name for sure.

Ok, I said I was going on cam last night, but received my daylight work paycheck and went to celebrate...:cat:

Oh! by the way, you asked if " I'm comfortable" -well of course I am!- I want u all to know I trust you :shame: I feel like you girls are my friends and sisters :cat:

Ok! I am in my mfc account right now and went to the "Chat Room Ban" section and banned the person I've been telling you about. His user name is: lokocj

The guys on MFC are mostly CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. They know how things should run.

Oh god now I'm wondering what fetishes the CEO of my company has.....

Okay so it isn't the same guy I've had issues with, which honestly sucks because that means there are a plethora of members trying to take advantage of new girls, which I guess isn't too surprising? But still sucks.

Yeah, because I keep wondering if you're talking about the guy I met as a new model but I can't say the name out here. I feel like mine totally screwed up my new model status with his advice.

Sorry to hear that so many clowns are abusing the Room Helper privilege. My advice would be to check out the profile page of the person offering help to better judge his intentions. Truthfully, being Room Helper is a bit of an annoyance, because it means I really need to focus on one room while monitoring quite a few "1 more for group" messages from performers. If I commit the time and energy, it's always for a new performer who does not yet know how to deal with:

* rude guests and basics
* premiums who beg to the point of distraction
* anyone with a known history of recording performer video
* anyone who tries to run a Skype-for-Paypal scam
* stalkers, many of whom hang out in the Lounge

My MFC screen name was EmmEffCee when I joined this forum a few years ago, but I've since changed it to Nabi_for_Doki. I freely invite any and all of you to check out my profile page, where you'll see a lot of notes about removal of pirated video and over a hundred comments from grateful performers.

Why would a room helper need to monitor for emotes like that?

Don't waste your time and energy. Tell her to ban them. Your part is done.

* premiums who beg to the point of distraction
Tell her to ban them.

How would you know who is recording? Do these people proudly put that on their profiles? Last I checked most recordings were done by a bot. And they did so without even signing in. So this seems like puffery that just holds no water.
In any case, if the recorder is known...Tell her to ban them. Won't do a damn bit of good because you can't stop someone from recording if they want to...

Tried. Didn't load. You probably have whatever region my VPN is currently coming from blocked and I wasn't interested enough to switch it to a different server.

Before anyone realizes my mistake in that reply I'll just correct it now.

Better yet, instead of telling her to ban them, tell her to come here and learn how to handle her room herself and quit taking help from wannabe room helpers.

I'm reminded again that some members take their time on MFC way too seriously.

OMG i feel so sorry for you! Don't accept Skype calls from random people sweetie, it's pretty easy for them to see your personal information. I did have trolls on my first week, but they were funny trolls who made up the weirdest fetishes.

Yeah, my first camming experience was like that. Ton's of guys wanted to pay me to chat with me on Skype, as my show went on they started to leave when they realized that they had to pay. Download the desktop camming app that MFC has if you didn't it has so many more options and will get those pesky guests and basics off.

I know exactly what you mean. Personally though, I think there's a difference between some grey that comes in and says "hehe useful tip here show ur boobies for monie hehe" and somebody who dedicates time and actual effort to help you when you've reached out to them. There's a couple of people that message me on twitter/email me to give me feedback on shows and let me know if they have any other suggestions. This I am completely fine with.

On the other hand, tips from somebody who's spent barely any time in my room when I never asked for it is so annoying. I assure you, I know what a HD webcam is and I know I need to get one. You don't need to remind me kthxbye.

1. Sorry, Jerry. Customers are blocked from seeing my page. My bad for failing to mention that earlier.

2. Banning can be a double-edged sword. Sometimes diplomacy makes more sense, because it's common for a banned customer to:

A. Post troll comments on the performer's profile page unless she specifically ignores him or prevents him from doing so
B. Complain about her or falsely accuse her of being a ripoff artist in the lounge
C. Use a fairly simple hack to bypass the ban

3. A lot of recordings are indeed done by bots, but not all of them. When you visit a site like webcam-archiver, you typically see hundreds of bot-driven videos, almost all of which are very tame free chat shows. On a site like [site name banned*9], almost all of the pirated video was manually recorded. As for identifying video pirates, it isn't easy, but there are signs:

A. Some videos begin with a full screen view before zooming in on the video window. Pausing the video and blowing it up will often reveal the name of the member.
I specifically remember catching and reporting a member named fxfighter that way, but only after he had recorded numerous models.
B. Some guys actually to brag in the lounge about models they've recorded. There seems to be a stupidity competition between them and the guys who brag in the
lounge about ripping off models on Skype shows.
C. I participate in free chat a lot, and I get a fair share of PM's from guys trying to sell me pirated video for tokens.

Sorry, I may not have expressed that clearly. I receive "1 more for group" private messages from performers every few minutes. I'm always happy to start the shows for them, but if I'm playing Room Helper at the time, it means I need to turn my attention elsewhere for a few moments.

Happy to do so, once this forum starts offering support in Russian, Korean, and Japanese. New American performers don't need much help to figure out MFC, and if they wind up on pornhub or xhamster, it's a little embarrassing but not the end of the world. In other countries -- particularly Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines and Uzbekistan -- it's a very big deal. Getting caught being a webcam performer can lead to social ostracism from friends, boyfriends and family; getting caught working at a webcam studio instead of from home is a criminal offense. You probably haven't been around long enough to know that about 10 years ago, two Swiss nationals running webcam studios in the Philippines were sentenced to life imprisonment. I have a performer friend who worked at that studio; she was extremely lucky that the raid occurred on her day off.

But I digress.

A. That's why it's great that an MFC model can block specific members from posting on her wall, set wall comments to friends only, or disable the wall altogether. Disabling the wall is what I ended up doing when I was sick of random people posting YouTube videos on there, getting weird posts from non-tippers telling me they miss me and love me, etc.

B. Lol. Aw, poor baby. The model should be too busy focusing on her room than worrying that some loser may be whining about her in The Lounge.

C. "That dum azz hoe banned me! I'LL SHOW HER! BWAHAHAHA!!!" Pathetic...

You're not giving very good reasons for a cam girl to not ban a member. I've always hated it when people would say "Well, banning a member is just giving him the attention he wants." Um...what? No. Spending 20 minutes talking to him about his bad behavior is "giving him the attention he wants." BAN that fool to get him outta there (his presence is probably pissing off the regulars too), because models and members who are trying to enjoy themselves on MFC don't need to deal with that shit. Ban him and keep it moving...
