And we got something similar, although confined to affected areas rather than widespread, with bushfire (wildfire for the non-Aussies) warnings back in the 2019/2020 disaster in my area.
I was a volunteer firefighter then, and the cellular networks went down fast when the fires swept through the local relay towers, so now we're seeing the emergency services in regional areas using Starlink fitted to vehicles as a communications node out in the field for wifi calls.
